I was at the ER yesterday completely unrelated to my pregnancy, when I stood up and the gush of water just came pouring it. Probably the most scariest moment of my life! Total panic! I knew what was going on right away and I felt so helpless!! I was an hour away from Daddy to be and my family. The hospital I was at at didn't have a maternity ward and the hospital I plan to deliver at doesn't have a NICU. They took me by ambulance to another hospital than can accommodate us, waiting for "nature to take its course" to see if our new son will arrive on his own. They are trying to keep him cooking till I'm at least 34 weeks which is a week from now and if he hasn't arrived by then, they will step in and induce. Still leaking water, uncomfortable AF, but baby is doing just fine,. Heartbeat is OK and they are constantly monitoring both of us. Daddy to be thinks I could have been further along than my doctor anticipated due to my belly measuring larger and then my water breaking. As long as baby is doing good, so am I. Besides Daddy and I wrapping our heads around the thought of being new parents before Christmas! Seriously, less than 12 hours before my water broke, I was washing blankets/sheets, putting his clothes away and unpacking his car seat. Holy good timing!!
Good luck with everything, but I thought once your water broke they wanted delivery within 24 hours or so to prevent infection risks?
I asked Elephants about this when hers broke. She said that if they could stretch out the time before delivery, she and baby (babies in her case) would get iv antibiotics after the birth.
Good luck, FX that the little guy holds out to 34w.

And before. Pretty much continuously until they were taken. The boys were on antibiotics for a week after birth just to be safe.
After 34weeks if your water breaks they will just have you deliver

Yeah I think with early babies it's different. I know they monitor you and baby really closely for any signs of infection, but I think it's a matter of weighing the risk/benefit of keeping baby cooking.

Yeah that's what I though too. Good luck
They have been pumping antibiotics in me to prevent infection nonstop. Since the mucus plug is gone, I guess I'm more prone to infection. They actually gave me a quick pap test for any existing infection which have caused the water to break in the first place . I'm waiting for the doctor now...
I would love for him to wait for 34 weeks. He seems to be content in there. He's not in any sort of distress and his heart rate is still looking good. It would be worth being in this bed for the holidays and my birthday for a healthy bub! No contractions yet, just mild cramping, so I think that's good for progression
