We bought one of the Step2 kitchens and a set of the Step2 play food for LO for Christmas. It comes with some pots and kitchen stuff, and we will probably supplement that with some real dish cloths, pot holders, a pitcher, a big spoon, etc.
We got the Step 2 Dream Kitchen for Christmas. My mom is getting him a tea set with some dishes and stuff. But it comes with a lot of things so we'll hold off getting anything else for it. Plus, he already has a good assortment of real pots n pans and utensils.
We're probably going with something very similar to @steamboat123. I said not for this Christmas, but to be honest I don't know, it could still happen. We already have the ikea pots/pans/utensils, and I like the styling of the kitchen.
My mom and stepdad are getting her a Kidcraft kitchen. We already have a ton of dishes and play food from my niece and nephew's old kitchen, but I'm going to add a few Melissa and Doug items and I ordered the Hape single serve coffeemaker (she loves our keurig so hopefully it's a hit)
We are going with the ikea kitchen. I am going to try to convince family to get the pots, pans, and food, but so far no one seems to be jumping at the idea. He's the first grand baby so everyone has their own ideas for what they want to give him, which is lovely.
We got the step 2 one. I wanted a nice wooden one but couldn't pass up the deal. She has a tea set with some dishes. My sister will be getting her a big thing of play food or christmas
My mom bought her a little tikes kitchen. I like that it's nice and compact. We found some play food at Costco and I want to buy her the IKEA pots and pans. She plays with my old FP plastic play kitchen when over at my parents house.
@steamboat123 and @nykkolaughs Are you planning on doing anything to the ikea kitchen or just leaving it as is? I made the mistake of looking at some of the hacks online and now I am really tempted to make it more interesting, but I'm not sure I have the time/energy.
I feel like DD may not play much with a kitchen, so I decided I am going to make one out of the large boxes we have. I would think it would last about 4 months. (DH may talk me into a castle instead of the kitchen though.)
