Mamaroo Newborn Insert Needed?

I hear if you buy the classic mamaroo you need to buy the newborn insert.  But do you need the newborn insert if you buy the plush mamaroo?

Yes, you should still purchase the infant insert. It's very helpful for neck support.

I didn't buy the infant insert and im glad I didn't because my LO didn't like the mamaroo until the past week or so at 7-8 weeks and it doesn't seem necessary at this point

We have the plush and have no insert (didn't for #2 either).

I have the original and no insert. I keep it reclined back like a cradle and he's fine. The material is a little rough so I put a soft blanket behind him for comfort.

I have the plush and I would not put my baby in there without the insert. I think it is necessary. Even with the insert he is a little small and starts to slide down into a position that worries me and I have to reposition him.
