I hate presents. I hate giving presents. I hate getting presents.
I get very anxious that people won't like/don't need what I get them. Especially if I get something where gift receipts aren't an option. I don't like getting presents because of the anxiety of reciprocating and honestly, most presents are things I don't need/want (ahem - from my mother...which are usually from a catalog and don't have a receipt) and then I feel guilt about getting rid of it.
I guess I should qualify here that I mean present like a physical item. I love getting experience presents. Like a massage gift certificate or a nice dinner out or a fun experience (I keep telling my mother -- instead of presents, just put it into the Disneyland fund for when we go with the kids). Just things - ugh. I have so much crap in my house already that I don't need anything else.
Shopping for DD is okay because I know what she needs and wants. And I love registries because I know that's what someone needs/wants!
I spent more money today on myself than anyone else. I also got a store credit card to save 15% and get $20 store cash. I'll be closing the account as soon as I pay it off.
@Natty13umppo I'm in total agreement. Gift giving/receiving sucks. I get too stressed. I've told my family for years. Now they get pics of the kids. Nothing else.
@LakeCountryGal I've done that with all my kids. I rescue them when they try to stand up under chairs and tables because they will hit their heads, but between stuff, for sure let them work it out.
My FFFC: my younger sister is really annoying. Too many reasons to name as to why I say that. Lol.
I let Lo try more things than I thought I would but nothing bad.
She got no purées turkey I just cut it into basically tiny shreds. Like crumbs, she tried stuffing (hated it), a shredded black olive (hated it) she had some pieces of egg from my omelette and my step mom gave her one tiny piece of ritz until I said that it had too much salt so she stopped
I did absolutely NO Christmas shopping this weekend. I wanted to, but dh was ill, my mom is ill, and poor Levi is sick too! Ugh, certainly didn't want to drag him out and dh/my mom not up to watching him. I took several long naps and read a lot this weekend.
HOWEVER... I sent hubs to Toys R Us for the GD Thomas the Train Grow with Me table that was 50% off (@FBW FML)
ETA: we went to my MIL this year for Thanksgiving. She farts loudly and doesn't care what grandkid is in her way. Was pretty disgusting.... and I like anything related to poop. . . ::::shivers::::
