Hey ladies!
So my DD turns ONE on the 3rd and was hoping to see if maybe any of you ladies had some fun ideas for first birthday parties since some of y'all have older babies! I'm not a big fan of themed parties, like Frozen or Minnie Mouse, especially since DD doesn't really care for any of that yet so we're just doing pink, purple and teal. I was wondering what kind of snacks may be fun for the kids but also enjoyable for the adults since there will most likely be more of them. Thanks!
Oh also I just finished making her tutu for her party and I LOVE it but I will NEVER do it again! Ill just buy one. So time consuming!
My DD turned 1 in April and I happened to stop in the Dollar Store and scored big time on their "spring fling" party decor. It was garlands of brightly colored flowers and matching plates and napkins. If I hadn't found that stuff, I would have done balloons, crepe paper, and table cloths in bright colors like in the picture below. I did a smash cake (from a box) for her by baking the batter in little ramekins and making a layer cake out of those. I also did cupcakes (from a box too) for the guests and decorated with homemade mascarpone frosting, which was good but not worth the effort for me. Because we decorated with flowers, I picked up some mini sunflower planting kits that I find in Target's dollar spot as favors/an activity for the kids. Have fun! ETA: we didn't do any other food because it was an early afternoon party and we wanted to keep it simple.
Goldfish are always a favorite of kiddos and grown ups! For my dd's 1st bday I blew up 20-30 balloons and threw them on the floor in a smallish room. The kids loved just running through them!
I did a pink lemonade party. I crafted for months. I'm still proud.
I love the how sweet it is to be one theme or cute as a button or sweet as pie.
You could do fruit skewers. I made rainbow ones for her 2nd party. Pigs in a blanket. No idea who doesn't like those. Sliders. Make food fun size maybe. Mini meatballs.

Pinterest is my go to for bday parties.
