No real update here. I'm still maintaining my pre-IVF#2 weight. Beta is the week of Thanksgiving. So, I will either be jumping back into diet/exercise after the holiday or continuing light exercise .
Me 27 DH 29 Married since 2007, together since 2001
Off BC since Febuary 2006
3 Clomid Cycles in 2008- symptomatic, US just showed a tilted uterus, otherwise normal, HSG normal. DH has an ejaculatory duct obstruction and a congenital absence of the vas deferens. This is common with cystic fibrosis carriers, but he doesn't have cystic fibrosis. IVF #1 with TESE/ICSI (Antagonist protocol) Aug 2014=BFN (poor embryo quality) IVF #2 ICSI long lupron protocol November 2014
@rainbowbridge14 14 miles is impressive! I can't remember, are you training for a marathon or just doing long runs for fun?
I have nothing really to report. I'm still trying to do 2-3 short runs a week plus my zumba classes. I've been doing better making sure I drink more water and electrolytes. I have a 1 liter bottle that I take to work with me and try to fill it at least twice. Somehow I feel more accountable when I see those numbers on the side.
Me - 32 H - 32
Married July 2009
TTC#1 since Feb 2013
RE consult Oct 2013 due to short cycles/light periods
Good luck and I have absolutely EVERYTHING crossed for your beta today @RunCC37!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@lemonliz - Pie is delicious, and I commend you for steering clear. I was pretty impressed that I managed to only eat 1 (rather large) piece on Thanksgiving this year? You're a stronger woman than I!
@alpCRNA - When is your beta? Have you tested at all? Good luck!
@rainbowbridge14 - Good luck with your application! I think with being able to run 14 miles, who the fuck cares what your BMI is! You go girl!!!
@AuroraP725 - I have a solid water bottle for the opposite reason If I can see how much I'm drinking, it intimidates me!
AFM - Well, I failed one portion of my fitness test last week. By one fucking second. Apparently I need to "practice being more coordinated", because I kept tripping over my own feet I have to re-do it in February, which is when we're planning on cycling, so hopefully that doesn't mess anything up? I'm not overly concerned about it, just pissed off at myself!
alpCRNA depending on my results, I'll either jump back in hardcore on my diet and exercise or switch to long-term lighter exercise.
I've done the recumbent bike, walking, and light weights since the IUI and I've been trying to eat more dairy after reading about the study that found a link between success and higher dairy in women over 35, which works with my new meal plan, since my "consultant" at Medifast switched me to a program that has more "real food" and a more normal calorie count, so I feel like I'm eating enough calories and pretty healthy, though I've allowed myself a couple of cheat days since my IUI. I haven't been on the scale as much the last couple of days, because I'm giving myself a little break right now. I'm trying to stay super positive about the IUI, but since DH's SA count was 8 mil (down from 46 mil in June and 32 mil in Oct) and 3 mil post-wash, my clinic's bare minimum, I'm not as confident as I was going in. But doing light exercise and the C+B meditation discs have really helped. As has eating some "real" food.
IVF #4 No suppression/Antagonist Nov 2014/Converted to IUI #1 = BFN IVF #4.1 Feb 2015 = cancelled IVF #4.2 April 2015 - Lupron Stop Protocol with ICSI = PGD testing of embryo indicated it was abnormal IVF #5 June 2015 EPP with Antagonist
@tptbabe I am suppose to have my beta Wednesday, but I am working the entire time the lab is open. So, I am going to go Tuesday afternoon. I will probably not get the results until Wednesday.
:::::::::::::::::::Warning Possible BFP::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I didn't want to go beta or bust because I will be at work when I get the results and need to be able to keep it together. So, I POAS yesterday (7dp5dt) and got a super faint BFP. It was so faint I had to ask my husband if he could see it, but I've never even had a test where I questioned if I saw a line before. So, I am super excited but also nervous. I'm just hoping for good betas.

Thank you so much You girls are truly the best!! @alpCRNA - that sounds promising to me!! ::off to stalk you properly on the Tiny Turkey thread::
As far as my wellness check-in goes, I have been doing a good job of sticking to the diet. The no exercise thing has been hard, and along with the side effects from the meds (Prednisone is EVIL!!) and the anxiety that goes along with IF, I haven't been sleeping well. I think that's going to be my new goal... to focus on overcoming insomnia.
I have to admit that I've been very distracted from this thread the past few days... I promise to come back and read all the above more thoroughly when I get a minute. Regardless, you girls are where it's at around here! I may need to catch up on my stalking, but that doesn't mean that I've stopped rooting for you GO TEAM FUIF!!!!!!
HUGE congratulations to @RunCC37!!!! You're truly an inspiration to all of us, and I'm praying that you have the easiest 9 months ever You deserve it!
And yay for a second line @alpCRNA!!! Keeping everything crossed for a nice strong beta when you get it back tomorrow
@rainbowbridge14 - That sucks that you have to be under a certain weight for the refund program Is there an underweight limit too? Don't they know that "skinny" doesn't always equal healthy??? Do they exclude smokers, people with high blood pressure, that kind of thing too?
@Carol77B - Yay for real food! Eat all the ice cream!!! It only takes one, right?
@tptbabe There is no lower limit for BMI that disqualifies you. They have a big list of things on the front that says if you have any of them you won't qualify. Some make sense, like an untreated hydrosalpinx and I get that. Other's are: prior failed IVF cycle, over 38 years old, having an endometrioma, high fsh or low afc, abnormal ute anatomy, or doing PGS/PDG. Apparently they don't want to do a refund for like half of the population that does IVF.
Well, shit. Even if we had the option of a refund-multi cycle package, we'd be out of the running! I found out that our RE works with WIN Fertility and they offer packages (not refunded) but I don't know about the qualifications, or if that's something we'd like to do. I put in a call to them and they're going to call the RE's office and get the protocol so that a nurse can call me back. Still, I'm not sure if I want to work with them. Something about working with a private corporation profiting on IF gives me the heebie-jeebies. But I guess that's all REs are anyhow so I shouldn't be too picky about to whom I pay money for IF treatment.
Ours is ARC so it could be different criteria. For ARC we are trying to do the progressive refund (either 1 fresh +1 frozen or 2+2 and you get refunded up to 70% of your money). Everyone qualifies for the 3+3 refund but it is over $30,000 and there is no way we are doing that.
Woah, that is really high! Shady Grove's Shared Risk (100% back) was something like $22K for ICSI (I think it was $20K didn't need ICSI) for 6 fresh attempts and, I think, however many FETs you might have. I didn't apply to do it because the break-even point was three fresh, and based on my RE telling me I had a 60+% chance with each try, I was convinced I wouldn't need that many. I sure wish I had done it now, but it won't be so painful, if the IUI works (please work!!!).

Yeah it is kind of ridiculous. I am in the SF bay area so the prices are really high with the high cost of living here. There is another clinic in the area that does a 3+3 refund program for about $24,000 so if I was going to do that I would do it there. All this financial stuff, and the medical qualifications that go with it are so frustrating.
I know I said it above but I am wishing you so much luck and hoping this IUI works for you !
I'm in S. Miami and the package one of the clinics I went to was $25k no refund for 3 fresh+3 FET. You have a year to complete it and a sucessful pregnancy (which completes the contract) is just making it past 10wk! It's crazy. Oh and that's without meds!

Feb 2014 Hysterscopy = no septum seen ute all clear in the inside
Gosh, I wish we had packages like that here! It's just not feasible for us to travel somewhere for something like that
There's one place a few hours from us that has a guaranteed program, but we don't qualify. Basically, you have to be fertile and able to get pregnant/carry to term without IVF to qualify. It's basically pointless.
I think I read somewhere that there are more fertility clinics in the Washington, D.C. area than anywhere else in the country (or maybe its that we have the most patients?), so that might be why the pricing is more competitive. But Shady Grove, by far, has the best SART data, so I haven't really considered going anywhere else, but if I have to go for IVF#4 and fail, I think I will have to.
The one thing that has really helped me is that I'm paying a slightly lower fee for the IVF per cycle because they are honoring my insurance rate, even though I have no coverage, so I'm saving about $2,500 per cycle.

@tptbabe - I just noticed your weight loss ticker... it looks WAY too tempting to be effective for weight loss IMHO I want to eat all the pumpkin pie!!! Does it come in low-carb/gluten-free/dairy-free?!?! LOL
