I can't stop eating. I'm not sure how much longer I'll remain in the normal weight gain range at this rate. I'm hungry all the time!
My energy levels have been unreliable. The past few days have been tough since I just want to sleep all the time too right now. Hmm.. eat or sleep? Maybe I can learn to eat while sleeping, or sleep while eating.
I'm hoping it's a growth spurt and I can get back to being productive. It's sometimes hard to bear in mind that making a baby is 'productive' too.
Hey ladies...not much going on. Had my 26 wk appt today and all is well with baby girl. @hooligans4 here is a pic. No face since I was having a bad hair day

2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do
"shared" program.
Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months.
Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
Hi allI I had a spotting and cramping scare this morning but went to the OB, got an ultrasound right away (which was very lucky!) and they were not at all concerned - the tech saw some blood pooling by the low-lying placenta and said that was fairly common and unlikely to endanger the pregnancy.
Otherwise, like @neonneon, my energy has been up and down.
In short, the usual roller coaster of emotional and physical symptoms.
On a brighter note, we told my parents last weekend and they were very happy. I'm an only child and I think they had all but written me off as a potential source of grandkids by this point.
I have some ongoing worry about my relative lack of symptoms still. I'm 6W 4D and have had very little except I might be more tired than usual (am I?), and some mildly tender breasts (nipples).
So...trying to talk myself down on a regular basis since my first ultrasound isn't until 18 weeks (I just don't think I will ever make it that long. I don't know; it's insane), and while my doctor will look for a heartbeat with the doppler at my 10-week appointment, that's still 4 weeks away!
This all folds into my desperately wanting to tell my parents at 8 weeks, but I am hesitant to do so without knowing there's a heartbeat (and if 10 weeks doesn't provide one then I'm waiting until week 14).
@marijaa333 I'm an only child as well, and I think my folks are beginning to lose grandchild hope as well. We're a very close family and I want nothing more than to share this news, but the thought of the possibility of having to take that away from them if something happens is just awful. I may try to wait until 10 weeks at least, but the BF and I are having a housewarming around the 8-week mark and that would be a great time to break the news to the parents.
I'm also really struggling with the apparent lack of adequate (in my opinion) prenatal screening here. There is no dating ultrasound/NT scan, and only maternal serum screening in the second trimester (and they only do the 'double test' for hCG and AFP). And CVS wasn't mentioned at all, only amnio (in the event that the MSS was positive). Needless to say, NIPT wasn't brought up at all either.
So, since it seems like I'm a "forewarned is forearmed" type, I'd really like to have access to the most accurate screening available. I don't live in a rural area - I'm in the province's capital city, and it's pretty upsetting to know that my options are so limited. I'm looking into NIPT, which may be available out-of-province, and likely for a significant fee.
@tmorash The early weeks are really stressful and yes, it does get a bit better past 12 weeks but then various things come up and it's easy to slip back into worry-mode. Six weeks is still early for symptoms. This morning, on the way to the OB, I was actually regretting having told my parents, for fear that something wasn't right. In the same breath, I was thinking that it was a good thing I hadn't announced at work yet. After this minor scare, I'm inclined to wait until the anatomical scan to announce widely (although I'll tell my boss in a week or two). All that to say is that I would advise you to wait until you hear a heartbeat, and ideally until 12-13 weeks. Don't worry, your parents will be just as happy six weeks from now as they will if you tell them in two weeks.
As for NIPT, I would call the four companies (makers of Panorama, Harmony, Verifi and MaterniT21) and ask what the procedure would be if you did the test out of pocket in Canada. They are all keen to have these tests adopted and are offering discounts for those whose insurance doesn't cover the tests. CHEO has a good explanation, plus contact info:
@tmorashon a Canadian note, since we were in TO over the weekend for my dad's birthday, of course I headed straight to a Tim Horton's for a Boston cream. Well, they put really strong, crushed candy cane on top of the chocolate icing and completely ruined the donut. Outrageous.
Thanks so much for the sage advice, @marijaa333, and I'm so glad your minor scare was just that -- minor, and in the past. I'll think it over, and try to talk myself into waiting at least until a heartbeat I think (or Christmas - whichever comes first).

@marijaa333 Bummer! I'm no big fan of Tim's coffee (I prefer an americano generally), but I have certainly enjoyed a doughnut or two. When I was a kid my favourite was the lemon delight (like a Boston cream but with sweet lemon filling in the centre instead), but I've matured (ha) into a fan of the walnut crunch. Horror of horrors - the walnut crunch was discontinued earlier this year. Honey cruller it is from now on.
marijaa333 - very happy to hear that everything is ok
tmorash - I felt like the 1st tri was the longest - and waiting for appts to make sure everything was ok was very stressful. I hope these next 4 weeks fly by for you - I would say the T-giving holiday would help but I believe you are Canadian, so you already had yours last month. Nonetheless this time of year time tends to fly.
AFM: No big updates - I am now 30+4. I am definitely at the stage where my belly is growing fast - I realized today when I was buying sweaters that if my abs are not contracted that my belly now is bigger than my boobs! How's that for a milestone
Had my 30 week appointment - all looks good, and the pelvic pain is part of the normal fun - so I have to basically just suck it up and deal (OB obvious was nicer about it but that is the bottom line)
Hope everyone is doing well; thinking of you all!!!
@tmorash I never had any symptoms with DD and I worried constantly until we heard the heartbeat. My mom never had symptoms with my sister or I so I guess we have a lucky gene. Hang in there.
@tmorash I didn't get symptoms until 8 weeks then, I was living in bathroom;) @marijaa333 happy everything turned out ok! Sorry about the scare:( @BeckyP005 your bump is adorable! I was gonna ask for pic too! Lol @hooligans4 thanks! Miss you!
I seen Dr this Monday and again next Wednesday. I think I'm weekly now. Cerclage still holding. I got steroid shot for little girls lungs and H had to give me the other one 24 hrs later. He did a good job! Proud of him! Lol. I was giving the ok to travel to Mi this weekend to spend the day. Only 1 1/2 hrs away. I have to wait until Wednesday to see about visiting DH's family in Chicago. I hope so we sold them our truck and want the money! Haha. He said cerclage will be out probably 34 weeks. Which is about 3 weeks away! It's starting to get real! Im noticing I'm nesting like crazy. Did that with DS about 2 weeks before he was born, at 34 weeks. I'm nervous! Lol
@Samuelismomma So exciting! (And I'm glad the cerclage is holding strong!) I hope you're able to travel worry free. But even if they recommend you stay put, I guess your nesting instinct will be satisfied.
10 weeks. 1st appt in 2 days! I flew to Texas to photograph a wedding and it was great. I did however come back sick. Im pretty sure it was being cooped up on a plane for a few hours with a guy across the aisle hacking a lung. Not cool. I was ton 4 days and as I came home hubby jumped on a plane for Washington DC. He comes home Friday. I honestly needed a break from his craziness so its fine. I do miss him though and I don't like that
Nausea and occasional throwing up is still happening however now its almost exclusively a night time thing for me. Sleep is a good escape. Im still wanting to go to bed really early. Sometimes I do Tonight i woke up after 2 hours of sleep and need to try and hit the hay again.
Also....SUPER COOL NEWS
I got to tell my brother and sister in law today. Sister and I were heading out to dinner and she said lets take a photo!
So my brother sets to take the photo and says:
"1...2....3 Say Cheese and M(sister) is pregnant!!!!!!"
I totally froze....said "shut the bleep up!!!" I turned to her and said "So am I!!!!!!" We proceeded to freak out. Turns out she JUST found out....she is literally 5 weeks
Im on cloud 9 right now.
My parents are going to have grandchild 7 and 8 within weeks of each other!!!!
So happy to see all these good grad posts by everything and that everyone is well!
@KirstenAlecia That is so cool! My favourite cousin's wife and my husband's best friend's wife are also due within a month of me (BF's wife and I are two days apart).
Just saw on on fb that McIrish had the babies!! It wasn't easy for her these past 2 days. After what she's been through the universe still had to make this difficult lol. So happy for you at @Mrs.McIrish!!!

Oh my gosh @beckyP005, totally cute bump! Wish mine was that tiny! So sorry to hear about your scare @marijaa33, I hope all is well now and you've been feeling good! @tmorash - I was a nervous wreck until about week 10, I had such minor symptoms early on and everything seems to be 4-6 weeks behind. I didn't start feeling like I was out of 1st trimester until ~18 weeks, so I'm hoping the 2nd trimester 'feeling good' lasts several weeks into the 3rd trimester! @KirstenAlecia - That is amazingly joyful news!! I got all teary reading it!
Hey everyone else! Hope everyone is doing well! Looking for those BFPs so you can join us on the other board! I've been tracking very closely with @NeonNoon, pretty much everything except the hungry all the time, but when I do get hungry, it's like I'm all of a sudden starving! I am definitely eating a bit more than I was a few weeks ago, but I'm trying to eat slowly so I don't go crazy!
I actually had enough energy to help my wonderful friend & DH finish clearing out and paint the nursery last weekend! We put up a little wallpaper border that I've had for years and our furniture finally arrived last week, so we're going to put the crib together this weekend... it's all VERY real now!! And I love the room so far!! (I'm going to share photos on the other board if anyone would like to see.)

@mdogan29 I love that crib color. Did you guys paint it or were you able to order it in that color? I have never seen that before. The nursery colors look great together.
I was immediately drawn to the gray color as well and I love it for either boy or girl, it's the perfect neutral color so that the bedding set/room decor can really pop! I got the crib and 2 dressers at BabiesRUs along with the glider + ottoman, but had to special order that specific fabric/color.
