Sorry I'm running late this week ladies! If I made any mistakes I blame in on staying up past midnight to try and get this thing done! I promise I will do better next week!
This is the place to update us on your IUI or break.
***Please note, if I don't see an update in 4 weeks, I will remove you from the list (you will see *4* before your name the week before I remove you)***
QOTW: What are your favorite alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks of choice?
If you would like to be added please TAG ME (@AnnaClaire256) and answer the following:
1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.) 2. Which IUI are you on? 3. Test/Beta day?
I'm 7dpiui for IUI #1. I feel like I have been thinking of nothing else besides wondering whether or not this worked. I go between feeling confident and feeling completely pessimistic. Beta is the 26th (next wed, 15dpiui), and I'm thinking I might just wait... mostly because I don't want to see a negative, it would crush me.
QOTW: Alcoholic- red wine, preferably a cabernet from California, or an Italian red... I'll admit I'm kind of a wine snob! Non alcoholic- I'm not a big pop drinker, if anything I'll get a sparkling water with a lime.

October, 2014: Femara 5 mg + TI ---> 3 follies on blocked tube side ---> BFN
November, 2014: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI#1--2 follies (on the good side), 46 mil. motile sperm=BFN
I'm back in the dreaded 2ww! My IUI was Saturday morning, and my DH had his best count yet post wash (25.5 million, 80% motility). I had 21mm folicle. Test day is 12/1... tomorrow we have a consult with the RE to discuss the next steps, as this was my last IUI with clomid. Should this cycle be a BFN, we will be benched for December for insurance reasons, as my deductible resets in January and injectables are super expensive!!! Crossing all my fingers and toes this month!
QOTW: My favorite alcoholic beverage is a vodka soda with a splash of crandberry juice... so smooth and delicious! Nonalocholic drink is any milkshake!
@luchich sounds like we are feeling exactly the same way about IUI #1. We have the same beta day too, and I know there are a few others who have betas on the 26 as well.... FX for LOTS of good news that day!!!

CD1 here (expected BFN, never bothered with the last Wondfo HPT in the house).
Super relieved to be starting something new - Bravelle (urofollitropin). I don't hear much about it here - is anyone else on Bravelle?
Also happy that injects cycles tend to be shorter and quicker. Since we have a combined 10-15% chance of success with the next 3 IUIs, I am just ready to get through them, save up those extra meds, and move on to the next step.
QOTW: I'll enjoy a glass or two of cabernet at an event, maybe a Tsingtao beer for old times' sake if we're out with Chinese friends. But most of my drinking days are behind me now. Sans alcohol - DH and I have discovered a love for IBC cream soda and black cherry and split a bottle now and then for a date! (We're trying to be healthier with no caffeine and less sugar.)

Today is 6dpiui for me. These progesterone supps can suck it. Disgusting. I also go back and forth between being hopeful and then being so sad that I have this Dx now (DOR) and things may not work out for us anymore.
I will maybe start testing out that trigger shot so I can test at 11 or 12dpiui. Beta is the day before Thanksgiving if I make it that far.
QOTW: Coffee with flavored creamer in the am and all the wine in the pm. I love wine from wineries like Indian Island. Brianna is my #1 favorite wine. It's a white wine and super crisp and semi sweet. Pretty much goes with anything.
Good luck and hang in there for everyone in the TWW! I know a lot of people have their Beta on the same day as me. I hope to see at least a few positives for PP's!

Beta is today but FRER yesterday was a BFN so I know it's negative. I am feeling extra down today and really want to take a little time off. However, our insurance changes as of January 1st and I think it would be a good idea to do one more IUI now since it's covered. Our new insurance is ultimately much better (covers up to 6 rounds of IVF) but we have a high deductible we have to meet first so we are saving up for that. I'm not sure what to do.
I have plans tonight involving wine, cheese, and bacon.
QOTW:
My favorite alcoholic beverage would be some kind of good beer - my two favorites are Brooklyn Local 1 and Unibroue's Fin du Monde. Or Duvel. Non-alcoholic? There is a restaurant near me that has the best pomegranate lemonade ever. soo tasty.
Today is CD3, so I start Menopur again for IUI #2. I am a little nervous about IUI timing since my RE's office is not doing any treatments on the 28th or 29th. I hope that they do the IUI on CD17 again like last time which will push it to the 2nd. Otherwise, we might have to do TI.
QOTW- I am a extra dirty martini/ wine/ champagne girl. As far as non-alcoholic, I love Coke Zero and coffee/lattes.
@bluefairy5 You have a great RE if they perform Sunday procedures! My office is only open on Saturday AM... I went in for an U/S on Friday AM... I had already started ovulating, but they still had me trigger at noon on Friday to make sure things kept moving, and so I could have IUI on Saturday AM. I keep telling myself that this 2ww will fly by, since I'll be busy with Thanksgiving... we all know that's a dirty lie!
I had IUI #1 last week. I have beta scheduled the day after Thanksgiving because of my wish not to let a potential BFN effect my holiday.
IUI went better than I expected. I do have a question for you ladies about timing. Our RE wants us to abstain for 3-5 days before IUI (DH has lower volume and morphology), but I ovulated earlier than expected and ended up with lower numbers than desired. Any tips on how to get the timing better or will I just learn with time? I'm now enjoying the "joy" of progesterone suppositories. I am feeling very negative about this cycle.
QOTW: Due to other medical conditions and meds I have to endure IF alcohol free. My favorite drinks are water with fresh fruit infusions, sweet tea, and white hot chocolate.

Hello! I just had another u/s appt today and blood work to monitor estrogen levels. Instead of clomid this cycle we did follitsim. Which I was happy to move onto something different bc obviously clomid wasn't doing it for me. I have been monitored closely this cycle as I had u/s and blood work done this past Saturday as well.
I will have my 4th iui done this Thursday. And it looks like I will have 3 mature eggs. Tonight I do my hcg shot.
They told me that I have a 25% chance of conceiving twins and a 2-3% chance conceiving triplets. It's a little overwhelming to think of multiples but I just pray that this will be our month. I am so ready to just be pregnant (as we all of are) and put this all behind me...fingers crossed!
QOTW : My favorite alcoholic drink is middle sister sweet and sassy white moscato wine.... juat had a bottle last AF. And non alcoholic drink is a gingerbread latte from starbucks...and it's back for the holiday season ....YUM!
@lovesmonkey I'm in the same boat and I agree with @bluefairy5 that your RE should figure this our for you.... but I think it's the best approach to take charge, and ask a billion questions about what you can do.
DH has slightly lower numbers, and I bumped my abstaining window by a day (3 days before IUI), and it definately helped. However we just had an IUI with a two day window, and the numbers were much higher than other times. He's been doing a better job recently abstaining from alcohol, sleeping, drinking lots of water, and taking a multi-vitamin. Can I conclude that it def caused the better numbers? Nope, but I'm sure it helped!
Also, progestrone supplements are TERRIBLE... they give me vivid nightmares every night, not to mention all the crap that's left behind! UGH
Well I just had some lovely spotting at 7dpiui. Ugh! I usually get some LP spotting but not until 10 DPO or so. This is so frustrating... Do you think I should call and ask for a progesterone test (they've never done one)?

I called and the nurse said "it could be implantation bleeding." Really?!?? She should know better than to fill my head with false hope. I told her I've had spotting before but have never been pregnant, and that I'd like to know if I have a progesterone issue so that we can address it in future cycles. She said she would check with the doctor and send a lab order in even though it "probably wasn't necessary." 8-|

DEFINITELY get a progesterone test! I thought that was a requisite for your first cycle b/w with any RE.
Oh, for fuck's sake, why would a nurse say that? Even though it could be that there is no way of knowing that is it until after you get a positive HPT. I am glad that you called and advocated for yourself. Btw, I LOVE that eye roll smiley. That made my day!

Hey there. Checking in. I am CD2 following my failed IUI #2. This month we are going to do another Fermara cycle and go with TI. The sperm spa (wash) is OOP and a little pricey right before the holidays . Since we don't have MFI we thought we could give it the old college try this month. Also we have agreed to only try 3 IUI before completely stopping this roller coaster journey of IF, so I figure I can wait to do the final IUI until I'm 'ready' to give up.
Good luck to those in 2WW hell. I will have a glass o wine for you all tonight!
@mbrookeRN I'm sorry about your BFN. I was really hoping is was your cycle. Hugs! Whatever you do, I don't suggest mixing your alcohol with the bacon....this past summer I tried a bacon Caesar, barf! It was disgusting!
@BlueFairy5 those sound like great numbers! FX for your cycle this month!
QOTW. Alcoholic drink, I love a good cold beer usually, but I also like to mix it up! I do enjoy wine, but do not know much about it. My mom worked in a wine store years and makes her own, so I only know the colour of the labels I like, may favourite white is the turquoise label and my favourite red is the pink label! Lol! I did discover whiskey sour this past summer! Yummy!
Non-alcoholic drink, I do love coffee. For a special treat, I do really like a Green Tea Latte from Starbucks.

I am in cd 5, 7.5 mg of letrozole this month instead of 5 to try to encourage multiple eggs. I'm with you, @Shauntee - crossing my fingers I get my surge before next Wednesday, when my RE closes for Thanksgiving. I'm scared the timing will be messed up for this cycle & next because of Christmas. I'm trying to be excited about trying on our own ( it could happen any time, right? Even if the odds are 1 in 100). Update for me- I am still cramping and spotting at 9dpiui... but I just got a call from the nurse, and the progesterone test I did yesterday came back at 39.1-- which is pretty amazing I guess. So that means the spotting I get isn't caused by a LP defect/progesterone issue.... I just want to know why this happens. Combined with the blocked tube, I really think I'm dealing with endo here. @mshandlebar and @BlueFairy5 his response when I asked about it was something like this.... "Outcome studies for post-lap surgeries vary, some of them show it doesn't make a difference in pregnancy rates. So it doesn't make sense to put you through a surgery and the risks that come with it if it may not help you reach your end goal of pregnancy. We can probably get you pregnant without doing the surgery, even if it is endometriosis, by trying to get the left ovary going and doing IUIs."
I appreciate that he isn't pushing me to do a surgery that may not be necessary, and I guess if doing a lap doesn't help me get pregnant anyway it would be kind of a waste (although it would be nice to know for sure what's going on). I just think that at this point I have a lot of symptoms of endo, and I know from this site and google that most of the time the treatment for it is a lap. I know he's saying that even if it's there and he removes it, that may not make any difference in my chances of pregnancy, but doesn't it seem logical that it would make it easier to get KU? I don't know. I also think he said something about the potential for adding scar tissue with surgery. Meh.
ETA: I wanted to add that the spotting right now is very light/brown-ish, but there have definitely been months where it's been bright red. And then some months there hasn't been any, only right before AF. So it's not like I have the same exact pattern every month, but I still don't think it's normal.
Edited again to add: @mshandlebar I know you have a blocked tube as well... I can't remember, did your RE seem concerned or discuss a lap with you when you met them on the 11th?

I am currently 5DP IUI #3. This is the first IUI with new RE and I really love this place. It feels so good to feel comfortable and trust in my doctor. I had 2 great size follies this month, but hubby is worried about his numbers because we didn't abstain as long as normal.
Beta is 11/29, but I tested today (1 week after trigger) to see where I'm at. There was a very faint positive line that I almost missed so I'm thinking tomorrow might be the last of the trigger.
RE suggested moving on to IVF if I'm not pregnant after this or maybe a 4th IUI. So a BFN will be really hard to swallow this time around. We're really not sure what we want to do moving forward. I refuse to do another December IUI because it was absolute torture last year. My holidays were miserable. We'll see.
QOOD: Favorite liquor drink is Malibu and Sprite. I also like the Cranbeeritas around the holidays. Beer, Wine.. I really love it all. Thanksgiving is going to be a bummer without any alcohol! Non-boozey drink is probably a fountain Pepsi. I try not to drink many though.
lindy04aggie Same here! Now I just hope I can get multiples and never go down this road again!
@mshandlebar Sorry about your cysts. I did one round of Clomid with a natural cycle and developed huge cysts. I had to wait months before I could start again. I hope this doesn't happen to you. Mine were extremely large though my RE said it was not typical.
Update: I had my IUI last Saturday. I three follies but they were around 16. I'm not too hopeful this round. I keep surging on day 10. Normally (without meds) I ovulate on day 12. I think my follicles aren't getting big enough. Is there something the RE can give me to keep me from surging so I can keep using the injectibles and growing the follies?
On a lighter note my mom brought back rosary beads from Rome. She told me to take them with me for my IUI. I kept them in my bra lol.
QOTW: I love a good white wine. I know nothing about wine so any will do. As for non-alcoholic I love a Pumpkin Spice Latte although I try not to get them as they have a million calories.
Thanks girls Good Luck to Everyone

The film of the HSG hadn't arrived in her office yet, so she hadn't actually gotten a chance to look at anything but the written report. I talked to her on the phone today, and she said she wasn't worried because the dye made it most of the way up the tube. Sorry I can't be of more help.
Has your RE said anything about your concerns with endo? It is nice that she isn't pushing you toward a potentially unnecessary surgery, but at the same time it is hard to know that there is something out there that you aren't doing that could improve your situation. I don't know all that much about endo, but I definitely think it is worth pressing your doctor about if this cycle doesn't work out.

I just wanted to give an update! I decided not to do another IUI right now. The BFN this cycle hit me harder than I thought it would - I have been incredibly laid-back about all of this until this past week. I don't want to be stressing over the holidays, and I really would like a break from blood draws and vagcams.
We will likely be taking a break for at least a couple months. We are still going to be trying to HIO during my FW and such, but no treatments/meds or even temping. We were originally told IVF is our best option so we are going to hold out for that. Like I think I mentioned before, my new insurance (as of Jan 1st) covers up to 6 rounds of IVF but we have to meet a super high deductible first. So we are going to take a couple months to save up for that and then on to IVF we go.
You ladies are all so wonderful, I can't thank you enough for the support! I will still be lurking and lovetitting the crap out of these threads while we're on our break : )
@mbrookeRN enjoy your break! I'm sorry that this BFN hit you hard. It sounds like you feel that a break will be best for you, so I hope it's helpful to relax and not have to think about treatments for a little while.
Update for me-- BFN at 11dpiui. Combined with the spotting, pretty sure I'm out. Had some tears today but I think I'll have some wine tonight (I had given it up this whole cycle) and try to focus on getting ready for hosting Thanksgiving. FX for all of you other ladies in the TWW!

I am sorry about the BFN and spotting. Darn it, I was hoping for you.
AFM, I had my usual pre AF cramps for awhile today and I am sure that dumb bitch is on her way to town for me too. I usually don't spot but I will be stopping those damn supps now as not to delay her arrival anymore. I will not be testing until right before Beta next cycle as these positive FRER's from the trigger are totally messing with my head. I cried at work and the whole way home.

@BlueFairy5 I used wondfos and the trigger was gone really early too. I had always heard they were super sensitive, but I think they vary a lot from batch to batch and just aren't very reliable. Can't beat the price though!

Better late than never!

I am a little nervous about IUI timing since my RE's office is not doing any treatments on the 28th or 29th. I hope that they do the IUI on CD17 again like last time which will push it to the 2nd. Otherwise, we might have to do TI.

@BunnyBerry Good luck with this round with injects. Cream soda is up here for me too, so yummy!
@hrushka Those sound like some awesome follies. I am happy all of your numbers were great! FX for you!
@rn1175 Yes, the supps are the worst. My silver lining for my BFN was not having to continue on them for 6 more weeks.
@BlueFairy5 FX that all of the awesome numbers mean this is your lucky cycle.

UGH

Great news @humblebee2, good luck with the trigger and IUI!
My RE is still against the lap, but that may be something I push for if I don't get pregnant soon.

Has your RE said anything about your concerns with endo? It is nice that she isn't pushing you toward a potentially unnecessary surgery, but at the same time it is hard to know that there is something out there that you aren't doing that could improve your situation. I don't know all that much about endo, but I definitely think it is worth pressing your doctor about if this cycle doesn't work out.
