BF Supplement Formula but not BF?

I was planning to breastfeed and supplement with formula because of supply issues, but BF continues to be a challenge and not one I am sure is worth my sanity to continue. However, we have been using a formula designed as a supplement to breast milk. Is it safe to continue to use that formula, even if I stop breastfeeding?
