We just had our first RE appointment last week and are starting testing.

4. Where are you in your cycle? (Waiting to O, 2WW etc) If in the 2ww when will you test? Experiencing any weird "phantom" symptoms ladies in your 2ww?
2ww, 7dpo today.  I have had some weird cramping so my crazy mind is all like "implantation cramps!!" but I'm sure it doesn't mean anything

5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)
Not very hopeful (yet).  Our RE said that both the thin lining and late O are not good for our chances.  I am looking forward to next cycle.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm doing okay. I'm still not checking this site very often, because I'm still pretty raw from my recent loss.

QOTW: I splurge on antiques. Mostly old glass dishes.  My current obsession is amber glass vessels that I display on mantel.

Eh.  Until I can get into the doctors and figure out what is wrong I don't have much hope at this point.

I get eyelash extensions.  I love them.  With them i really don't need to wear make up.  Just a touch of lip gloss.  They look natural and great and people don't realize I paid for them instead of growing them.

I know this is only our 4 cycle actually trying but being 38 I'm getting panicky that it isn't happening. I have to wait till 6 months to go back to OB and then hopefully get a refer to RE (I need that for insurance)

5. I am feeling anxious. I had really bad PMS this go-around, so feelings of anxiety, irritability, and depression have got me down. I don't know why they were so strong this month. I just feel overwhelmed with the idea of scheduling sex next week, but I remind myself that I don't have to talk about it with DH until the weekend.

Waiting for my 1st post-miscarriage AF. I temped and did OPK's this month. I know most docs say to wait for your first cycle but our RE said we could go ahead and try on our own while we waited for it.

1st 2WW since my natural miscarriage in Sept.. It took me a couple weeks to get to a negative pregnancy test, then I started checking ovulation signs, temping and taking OPK's (RE said we could try on our own this month if I wanted). I'm pretty sure I ovulated, I got a pos OPK and temp spiked on my chart....but I've been spotting since yesterday and I'm 9 DPO....my LP is usually 10-11 days so I'm expecting AF soon. Temp took a huge plummet today. 

Still debating on whether or not to wait until Jan. to start fertility treatments again (when my flex spending will replenish).....with Christmas and everything, I think we might wait even though I really don't want to. I might try giving up all alcohol when we try this next cycle, since I just read yesterday that "binge drinking" (which is what I tend to do on the weekend and I don't drink at all during the week) can lower progesterone levels.

5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)
Not hopeful anymore since I have the temp drop and spotting. I put way too much hope into getting a "surprised BFP" on an unmedicated cycle. Really, I just don't want to spend the money on the fertility treatments because money is so tight right now, but I'm feeling like time is not on my side to wait.

QOTW: What do you spurge on (money wise)?
Shoes and handbags. I RARELY buy them (like seriously I don't think I have bought a pair of shoes in two years), so when I do, I buy nice ones and they last me for years.

Happy Wednesday, ladies!

3. Temping, FF, OPKs, supplements, have now completely quit breastfeeding my toddler, gave up caffeine and alcohol almost entirely, pre-seed.... good grief, I must sound crazy.
4. Well, as of this morning, FF changed my O date. So, I'm 5 DPO vs. 7 DPO. Which means our timing wasn't as good as I thought it was (as far as the BD), my cycles are still on the long side, and my 2WW basically just got 2 days longer. Ugh! I am so frustrated.
5. I'm not feeling very hopeful today, sorry to say.
We don't splurge on much now that I'm staying home with my daughter and just consulting PT. But I'd say the occasional dinner out and vacation.

FF just gave me crosshairs today, so as of right now I'm 3dpo. Gonna hold out on testing as long as I can. FF suggested I test next Friday which would be 12dpo. But it has my cycle marked at 23 days due to the short luteal phase last cycle (11 days but 27 cycle days).

5. How do you feel about this cycle? (Are you hopeful, anxious... etc)
More hopeful than last month! Not only was I in town this time, but we managed to get sexy time in the night before I ovulated so there's hope. And if FF decides to move my crosshairs for some reason, we actually got a second round in last night The only thing I'm slightly unsure about is the length of my luteal phase. I was under the impression that the length of that doesn't really change, just the date of ovulation can fluctuate. If that's true, a 23 day cycle is sad and a 11 day luteal phase doesn't seem long enough for good attachment.

QOTW: What do you spurge on (money wise)?
I don't really in general, but I did just get my hair cut and colored so that's probably my biggest splurge. But does it really count as a splurge if you only do it once in a blue moon?

4. CD 17, 3 DPO. No symptoms yet. I'm still deciding if I really believe that I O'd already.

5. I feel hopeful and I'm really trying to reign it in. I ovulated a good 5 days earlier than normal which is exactly what happened when I got pregnant with DS so I'm reading waaaaay too much into it. I thought for sure the positive OPK was going to be a false alarm, but my temps went up to their normal post-O range two days later. I think we'll probably just keep having sex just in case!

QOTW: What do you spurge on (money wise)? Well right now it's furniture. We moved into a new house 6 months ago and it's quite a bit bigger than our last house so we're working on furnishing it.

I just want to also say that although it sucks to get to the 6-month mark without getting a BFP, I'm really glad we have a bunch of ladies starting with REs, it makes me feel like we'll get some BFPs on this board very soon! Good luck to us all!!

Had surgery yesterday to check the status of my uterus and tubes, and have a persistent cyst on the left ovary removed that was hindering O. The bad news is that my right tube is blocked, but the good news is that my uterus and left side look great. 4. It's CD14, and I'm benched until my new cycle starts. 5. I feel incredibly good. It sucks that I have a blocked tube, but I'm so happy to finally have answers. It was frustrating to hear how great our eggs and sperm look, while getting BFN after BFN. Now I know that one side wasn't popping out any eggs, and the other side's eggs had nowhere to go. I can work with that. QOTW: I get my hair cut every six weeks, because it grows super fast. Shout out to oxycodone, for making the last 24 hours of recovery almost pleasant.

@tlc: I'm also a foodie and splurge on my studio practice, which the main costs surround travel. Next year, I'm hoping to photograph in Winnepeg & Puerto Rico. This past year, we both did diff parts of Alaska.

Ironically, my work surrounds photographing women and documenting their lives in a way that is honest and untouched. What I've learned from these sessions is that we are worth so much more than just our bodies or our careers...which is so often the focus of most conversations. We are deeply valuable to the people who love us.

I just want to hug those that have lost and are losing in so many different ways this month and remind you of your worth.

Waiting to O.  I got positive readings on OPKs yesterday and I have had a little ovulation pain today so hopefully it is today or tomorrow.  I will see what my temp does in the AM.

This cycle feels weird.  It is the last ditch effort before medical intervention since we will be seeing the RE after I O.

Honestly I don't know. Maybe someone has some insight regarding the new clearblue easy "advanced" digital OPKs? I have 6 high fertile days in row but haven't reached peak. That sounds messed up to me. Also it wants you to use FMU when most opk's tell you to do it in the afternoon. I'm wondering if I should go back to the older version or if this thing is still trying "figure my body out" and I'll get better results next month?

I have never used them but this seems to be a really common problem/complaint with the CB advanced digis.  Most people on TTGP recommend using the regular CB easy ones.  Personally I am a wondfo fan since I am cheapskate and they seem to work well for me.

@TMaggie0424 I too use less expensive OPK's when I bother, they seem to work well.  I see you are temping too though, so don't you feel reassured you will know when you do O based on that?  Yes, understand wanting to see the Peak but if your main concern is knowing that you have O'd your temps are the best determination to that.  Best wishes!

Those are the ones I've used this cycle and the past cycle. Last cycle I had 5 high days before peak. This cycle I had one high day before peak. I think it might depend on the person? I know when I used to test in the afternoons and/or early evenings I never once got a positive (or any result for that matter). When I switched to mornings I finally saw results on both the CB and the plain old opk sticks. Maybe try getting some cheapies and test in both the mornings and the afternoons and compare the results to see if they match up?

So DH and I had a good chat last night. He kind of talked me out of being so mopey and immediately worried about IF stuff. The only thing I just realized is that if my cycle stays similar he might be gone at a conference during the fertile window. ugh, which means another month of waiting. i wish there was a pill or vitamin that would give me back all my patience.....

Charting/temping, and have also over the last couple weeks cut out caffeine and alcohol (@katie0919) and I'm still a fairly pleasant person, much to my -- and my BF's -- surprise! This is surely the longest I've gone without caffeine in my adult life, and the same probably goes for alcohol.

Still in the 2WW. No significant symptoms except tender breasts (nipples specifically...).

Still trying to maintain hope. My temp dropped yesteryday, but went back up this morning *but only kind of.* Maybe you ladies will have some input: I woke up at 5:45am and just could not wait until 7:00am (my normal temping time) to pee. So I temped before I got up and recorded that temp: 36.74 (celsius). That made me feel great, but when I woke again at 7:00am I temped again and it was a big difference: down to 36.44.

So, I left the higher temp in because it was the one that I took after actual lengthy restful sleep, but I live in fear (  ) that the second temp was more accurate and AF is right around the corner.

I pay to have my nails done regularly. I was a nail biter (which is super gross) for years and years (since I was a kid up to about 2 years ago), and paying someone to do my nails (with OPI gel, which lasts forever!) is how I kicked the habit. I could probably back off now that it's been a couple years since I gave up, but it's so nice to have schmancy nails.

@WinoGrrl Thanks! If my second temp today was the "right" one, then I think I'm out. But hope hasn't been fully extiniguished over here... I may pick up a test tonight for tomorrow morning (but oh the BFN hurts so bad).

My nail biting was severe. I wasn't even aware I was doing it sometimes. It was second nature. I tried the nasty-tasting polish, tried telling my family and friends to poke me if they caught me, and nothing worked until I paid a stranger money to make them beautiful. Maybe it's the answer for you!

i've tried the fake nails from the drugstore but i always end up ripping them off - did you get fake nails or just got them polished? The bitter-polish did nothing for me either. some day i'll figure it out!

@WinoGrrl No fake nails - just polish. But it's no ordinary polish! It's cured under a UV light so it lasts much longer than regular air-dry polish (I can get 3-4 weeks out of mine, and then it's only because my nails are too long that I have to go back -- the polish is usually perfect still). I think the more popular polish that uses the same technology is called "shellac."

@tmorash hmmm, ok. my nails are so tiny i think it would look weird with polish on them. maybe if i manage to grow them out just a bit i'll try it!!

Beyond excited and hopeful.  <<child mentioned>> I got pregnant on my first round of Clomid with my first, but I'm trying not to be too crazy hopeful.  After over 2 months on the bench, I'm just so freaking happy to be moving forward though!!

2. TTC#1 for a year-ish.
3. Natural cycling still... arvigo maya abdominal massage daily, cut out most caffeine (even chocolate this month!), most alcohol (except for that wine last night , DHEA and prognenalone drops for regulating my hormones/adrenal glands, fish oil and extra Vit D, calcium, magnesium.... Preseed... circle & bloom mediations every night.

4. Today is CD11.  I've been O'ing late - from 18-23 so I'm just starting to gear up for FW.  Tonight will be the break-the virgin again ( we almost never 'do it' from the FW to a good few days past AF finishing up)...
5. Hopefull. Very hopefull. Please! Let this be the month.

QOTW: The last 3 years have been: travel (weddings in both Scotland and Morocco!), Burning Man, getting married, honeymoon in Panama, and then renovating our apartment.  Now we're just trying to squirrel away savings... would love to go back to Burning Man but will have to see if I get pregnant or not. I know people have gone in the 2nd Tri but I hear it's quite hard still.  So might just do another type of vacationing next summer like drive up to Maine again. We love camping.

@WinoGrrl‌ the shellac looks awesome even on super short nails! You have to be careful to get it removed if it starts to peel or you will be tempted to pull it off and that will kill your nails. Shellac is also kind of tough on your nails--they suggest two weeks on two weeks off. But, it's so awesome. I tried it for my wedding and am hell on my nails...and it never chipped and I left on for three weeks or more!
