Hello!  The post was giving me problems again, so hopefully I got everyone in!  Let me know if I missed you.

Sorry, I am a bit late to post today...craziest shit EVER!  A drunk/high/who-knows-what-he-was-on ass hole decided to drive into rush hour today and hit a bunch of cars, including me.  He left a trail for almost a mile before he decided to stop driving, put his seat in recline, and take a nap.  Thank goodness most of the accidents were at low speed, downtown.  I was more scared of him than anything and worried about not eating or drinking for so long while the police report was done.  The amount of needles, drugs, and booze bottles pulled out of his car was impressive.  ANYWAYS, that's my AW moment - sorry, I'm still a bit overwhelmed by it all.

AFM, I'm good!  Nothing new, but I can't believe it's my last week in 1st tri!  Nausea is better, but I get a bad headache every night now.

QOTW: I like to think I'm better, even though I was hit today.  I'm no grandma and do speed some, but not as scary as DH.  DH gets too much road rage, so I drive everywhere.

I had my last RE ultrasound and have been released. Both babies are measuring right on track and it was unreal to see the growth from over 2 weeks ago. Things are starting to seem a bit more real!

I'm still experiencing m/s and the fatigue is starting to set in.

QOTW- I am definitely a better driver.

As excited as I am about going into 2nd tri, I am sad to leave the 1st tri check-in.  It's always the scariest time for IF grads, and I really enjoyed seeing how everyone was doing.  And I think we had a nice influx from the September ladies join, too.  

You can pick whatever day you want to do the check-in.  If you're early on, it's ideal but even if you'll only be in it a few weeks, feel free to volunteer.  Thanks!

@gsancho - How scary - glad you're okay! 

I graduated from the RE today!  My bean was measuring perfectly at 9w4d.  It was even doing a little dance!  Heart rate was 172.  I even got a 3d picture (I'm going to attempt to attach) which was amazing!

I had my 2nd u/s this morning at 8w5d and baby was measuring exactly that with a hb of 181! I was so relieved especially after being 3 days behind last u/s. This was my first appt with the OB and she was so understanding of my nervousness. I go back in 3 weeks!


QOTW: we are probably about the same but I prefer to ride rather than drive so anytime we go somewhere together DH drives (unless I'm the DD of course). Although lately his driving has made me a little nauseous.

Holy Cow!  I can't believe this is my last check-in at First Tri!  Thanks for being a great check-in leader through the whole time @gsancho - so, glad you're ok after your insane morning commute.

I am 13w5d today.  So much progress, and so much to go!  I think I mentioned my NT scan last week - all looks good, except one placenta is a bit too close to my cervix.  Because of this, I'll be going to my OB again next week for another check up.  Otherwise all is well.  I started telling a few more people at work today, because it feels like the weight gain is officially starting now.  

QOTW:  I'm comfortable with DH's driving - and I wouldn't say that one of us is clearly better than the other.  But, using logic to reason this out, I've come to the same shocking conclusion as everyone else - I'm the better driver.  Here's my proof: I have both less accidents, and less traffic tickets (actually none) on my record than my husband - and due to my long commute, I have many more miles of driving experience than him.  (He commutes by bus).  I feel like this is pretty solid reasoning & I'll stick by it.

Here I am...only 4 days away from my first OB visit and a hopeful look at the beans. The nurse last week said it wasn't a guarantee that I'd get an ultrasound....but I'm pretty sure that given my history, the OB will be more than willing to put my mind at ease!  I can't believe it's been 5 weeks since our last glimpse. 

@gsancho I'm glad you are alright. Hopefully the report got filled out quickly so you could get some food!

I have my 1st OB on Wednesday at 2! So excited to meet my new OB and get through the appt. I'm hoping we will get to see our raspbaby again or at least hear the heart beat at a minimum. Very excited to take DH with me. My mom went to the last 3 RE appts because DH literally just started a new job (at the hospital were our OB and RE are!) but still didn't want to ask to leave early in the first 2 weeks and who knows how long the wait in the office could be so he'll be joining me on Wednesday! So excited for that. Just hoping and praying everything goes well! I'll be exactly 9 weeks the day of our appt.

QOTW- I think DH is a better driver. But I'll never tell him that!

Super nervous about tomorrow, I always get anxious before doctor visits.

Tomorrows my first OBGYN visit, after graduating RE.

So far two ultrasounds have confirmed embryo that is growing on track, but the one ultrasound, it was a day behind, with a heartbeat of 118. Just a natural worrier that something happened even tho theres no reason to believe it did. 

Having a tough time with pregnancy, intense cramp to the point of tears (yep cramp singular.) Didn't think I'd feel so blah.

OMG That is whack! I lived in DFW a long time ago and the craziest stuff used to happen there.

Everything here is the same and I am happy to report quite plain. I did get some massive morning Sickness (finally) and have been puking, dry heaving and laying around as much as possible. I'm about 9 weeks. also headache.

Tuesday of next week meeting with a Genetic Counselor, we have a donor egg so I'm learning this limits some of the testing but because of my Advanced Maternal Age I still should be tested, honestly I'm ready because I am dying to find out the gender, too.

My DH is a less patient but better driver. esp in bad weather.

Hi! Would love to join the update. My EDD is 5/25/15. No beans yet

I had a hysterscopy/laparoscopy in July, level three endo, and a separate uterus as well as ovulation issues. Our bfp was a big fat surprise!

I've been really battling the nausea and headaches lately. Very little seems to help- sometimes gingerale. Always the worst when I'm hungry.

My DH is definitely a better driver than I am- I tend to drive really fast! He's much more cautious

I'm 7 weeks exactly today! We had our second u/s and both beans had heartbeats!!! Baby A was measuring 6w2d with a hb of 115 and Baby B was measuring 7w0d with a hb of 122! I started to tear up when I heard the heartbeats for the first time, it was just a wonderful experience.

To those with twins- did one of your beans measure significantly smaller? Baby A is measuring 5 days behind.

QOTW- I'm probably the safer driver, but DH gets us places quick and I prefer him to drive

One of mine is measuring 2 days behind and when I asked the nurse today about it, she said that when they are so small it can be difficult to get an accurate reading. When you're dealing in milimeters it's not that big of a deal. She said the OB will track their growth very closely.

AFM, I'm chugging along at one day shy of 8 weeks. Still having a bunch of nausea but thankful it hasn't elevated to the upchucks. Usually goes away after a few crackers but today it came back full force around 2:30. Exhaustion is kicking my butt. Takes everything I've got to get out of bed at 5:15, push through the day at work, and crash once I get home. Not sure when or how to find the energy to cook dinner. But, the truth is I'm thankful for it all. Praying I'll see two heartbeats again at our 2nd ultrasound this Thursday.

QOTD: I'm definitely the better driver though DH would never agree. Me: clear driving record. DH: Accidents and speeding tickets.

@ky29 awesome pic! Good luck to the ladies with appts this week! AFM... I'm 7wk4d and have my first OB appt on Friday (just an intake appt, will not meet with the dr) as well as an ultrasound with my RE on Friday. Got to see a hb last Wednesday which was amazing. RE wants me back on Friday to check my ovaries since they are still pretty swollen and each have a few large cysts. I know it can take a while for the ovaries to go down, but I'm getting nervous! My left side is pretty sore today. For those that had pretty swollen ovaries after ivf, when did yours finally go down? Were they sore, also? QOTD: definitely me.

Check in: First OB appointment was yesterday, little weird hearing all the same stuff over and over as if I couldn't remember the US tech telling me and then the nurse telling me and finally the OB PA telling me. The repetitiveness may make me snap at some point. My bean is 2 days ahead but OB is leaving due date alone due to confusion over irregular periods and IUI, so officially at 10w1d. Little heart is beating away at 177. It was so cool to hear it. NT test scheduled in 2 weeks, next OB 2 weeks later. I feel like I am going to be constantly going to the doctor's office because I have to visit my Endo every 5 weeks as well. Sigh. No real MS, just days of blargh. And that's the best I can do to describe it too, days I just don't feel good. There's been lots of burping which makes my SO giggle. The sinus headache may drive me mad. I miss all my allergy steroids but they aren't good for "Not Much." That's what I've started to call the LO since everyone asks me "What's going on?" and my answer is still "Not Much" since we haven't widely shared yet. I don't know if I will be able to breastfeed if I can't have my allergy meds back. I seriously need them, breathing has become a habit I'd prefer to continue. 

QOTW: Well, since SO doesn't drive, that automatically makes me the better driver. 

But he's going to have to learn how to drive now. He's a city boy and is a genius with Mass Transit, but that doesn't always get him where he truly needs to be and if he's going to be carting around baby I want him to have more flexibility and mobility. That and he'll need to drive to the hospital. Kinda think contractions would make me a bit swervy!

Hi ladies! Things are going well. Currently 9w3d and I still don't feel pregnant. We have another doctor's appointment with our OB next week and if all looks well, we will be telling our immediate family after.  

QOTW: I am definitely a better drive. I'm more defensive and am always aware of my surroundings. DH would probably disagree, but he is a more aggressive drive for sure.

@IFinTN - My regular doctor took me off anything that had steroids in it, including my nasal sprays which normally get me through the mold and mildew season. And told me only to use my albuterol if a truly truly needed it. The only thing iffy we kept was a 12 hour sudafed at night for the breathing while lying down, so I can actually sleep some. The OB yesterday agreed with that, but was hesitant about the sudafed. I was switched from allegra to claratin, still take singulair and the sudafed. I really miss the sprays to open up all those sinuses. It hurts to rinse my hair or squinch my eyes.

I'm still really sick…. Trying hard to be more productive this week as work is piling on. Struggling!

First OB (post RE) appointment is next week, and I'm really nervous. Hopefully, a good appointment will make me comfortable with sharing the news with more people!

DH and I were a little sad because we decided to do one more SA… and his results came back last week--even worse than his previous two SAs. So now we know for sure that this bean was a miracle cuz his numbers certainly didn't improve. Makes us even more nervous about our miracle bean.

QOTW: Very clearly and obviously DH. Not even close. I can barely drive.

I'm sorry, that sounds miserable. Did they give you a reason for dropping steroid products? My doctors think it is better to take them than risk me getting a bad sinus infection or bronchitis that would require heavy duty oral steroids to treat them.

All of the steroids when she looked them up were Class A, so to be avoided at all costs, even the albuterol. We made a judgement call about sudafed as a Class C. At least I haven't reverted back to 8 years ago when I didn't know what it was like to breath through my nose. I'm hoping we have a moderate spring, so it doesn't get worse. I'm also hoping musinex will start to help clear out the sinuses, I got the all clear to take that yesterday. Hope is everywhere. Even my nose!

I need to jump in on the steroids discussion. I've been taking 5 mg of prednisone all along since I have rheumatoid arthritis. My RE never said to stop. Should I be concerned? I'm 8 weeks along today.

My final ultrasound with my RE was today at 7 weeks 4 days. Both babies are measuring right on schedule and he said that they are both implanted near the top of my uterus (which apparently is a good thing?). He said I could stop the PIO injections, but the thought of stopping so early made me nervous. I got him to okay me to continue with the PIO injections until 10 weeks. I have my next appointment with my OB on November 11th. 

I am already starting to get a tiny baby bump. I had to go buy a few maternity dress pants for work and they are so comfy! I don't really need any maternity tops just yet because most of my normal tops have some stretch to them.

@IFinTN - I just got it switched, I do that from time to time. I meant to say they were Class C as well. The ONLY Class C that we kept was the sudafed. So, I dropped 3 Class C (flonase, nasonex and flovent) and halved the 4th (sudafed) with directions to use the 5th (proair) only if direly necessary because if I stop breathing it's bad for both of us. You have to remember, I went from age 12 to age 30 without being able to suck air through my nose at all, so this is relatively better just annoying as I can still inhale through my nose. I just want to say ahead of the headache so it doesn't blossom into a migraine which I can take nothing for right now. None of the allergist's here wanted to give me drugs just the shots. I did that for 4 years in my twenties before I begged my internist to help me. She took the time to fiddle with what kind of allergy pill and to look for others that aided it. This is how I ended up with the 6 allergy meds (also on singulair) I usually take. I had gotten well enough that I only needed the inhalers occasionally. I hope to go back to it as soon as I can so I'm less cranky. 

@starlightgator - RA is a totally different animal with a major autoimmune factor. This will greatly change what you may need to support your pregnancy. Just be sure to check with both doctors as others have suggested as well.

Sooooo sorry for being non-existent this first tri!  I kind of backed off the boards a little bit because I was getting totally psyched out and worried about every little thing.  So excited to be moving onto the 2nd tri next week!  I feel great, haven't gotten one bit of sick, and really starting to feel normal with the energy again!

Got my b/w back, and I tested positive for the CF carrier gene.  So now hubs has to get b/w to make sure he isn't a carrier, and if he is then I have a feeling we have several tests ahead of us...because of course nothing that we do can be easy and enjoyable right?? 

Okay no more negativity!  Love all the BFP's and moving on next week!

QOTW: Depends on who you ask, I feel that I am the better driver, but he HATES driving with me!!

@gsancho  when I saw your siggy in your OP and it said TEAM PINK...I was like WTF???  I thought she was close to my due date how the hell did she find out already??  So I had to stalk your posts until I figured it out!  

Congrats that is great!!  Were you nervous to get that test done?  I wonder why they don't offer it out to everyone??

I'm 7w3d today with a due date of 6/14. We are so very blessed to have success on our first round of IVF due to my PCOS and what we believe to be to be partially blocked tubes. Our first OB appointment is scheduled for Nov 11 which seems so far away.

@rella22 I'd never heard of the blood test until my OB told me about it, and I was so surprised to hear you could learn so much at 10 weeks that I didn't have time to think about it much.  I'm a planner and always figure the sooner I know, the better.  Even if it was bad news, I'd want to know so I could mentally prep, do research, etc.  As the days went on I got more nervous but was relieved to hear everything looked good.  

Some relatives still don't trust the sex results, but it's 99% accurate, so I'm going to buy some girl stuff, dammit

And I think not all insurance companies cover it for non-high risk pregnancies, although more and more are.  Mine did, which is why my OB told me about it, and we just paid $25.  Normally, it's pretty pricey.

Sorry I haven't updated sooner. I got a terrible stomach bug and ended up in the ER. Worst thing ever. Feeling much better now!

Congrats to all of the grads! I am on the countdown till we find out boy/girl! So excited!

Jumping in a the end of the meds discussion...  I have respiratory disease and my doctors have all approved atrovent nasal and generic flonase (and Pulmicort and Atrovent inhaler).  There is a cost/benefit there, of course, but where breathing is concerned I would hope that would be a big plus on the side of taking the meds.  For me the risk of pneumonia is greater than any risk the meds pose.  As someone who spent the first 13 yrs or so of life with completely blocked sinuses, I get the importance of that too.  Have you tried saline nasal washes (not the spray)?  They aren't a permanent fix, but they do help a lot.
