***LOSS MENTIONED- Misoprostol prescribed for blighted ovum

Has anyone else used this drug after being diagnosed with a blighted ovum? I have just started it today and am feeling nervous about what to expect. My doctor have me pain meds, Ibuprofen 800, and anti-nausea medicine, which seems like a lot but hopefully will help me through this process.

I also wanted to thank each one of you beautiful ladies who have responded to my questions, given me support, sent thoughts, prayers, and hugs my way. It has meant so much to me to have people be there for me and understand what I am going through. I have high hopes for a future h&h 9 months when this is all over. Love to each of you and goodbye, for now.

I'm sorry for your loss. I took it for both of my losses (one was a blighted ovum). I placed the 4 tablets and started cramping and bleeding maybe 5 hours later, I don't remember exactly. I put in the other 4 the next day just to be sure it was complete. Heating pads in addition to pain meds was really helpful. My stomach was really upset even though I took zofran, so having snacks frequently helped.

I hope everything goes smoothly. (( hugs ))

I'm really sorry for your loss. I took it for my last loss (not a BO). Mine were placed about 4 and it was over by about 11. I took the pain meds, but I wasn't really in a lot of pain. I'll be thinking of you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have used methotrexate but not misoprostol.

OP, so sorry for your loss.

My original diagnosis was a blighted ovum, but I did NOT want to take miso. I waited for my body to pass it, but it did not. I demanded a D&C and THANK GOD I did b/c it turned out I had a molar pregnancy and I would have never known without the D&C. Once you have a molar pregnancy you have to be tested for it with each pregnancy, and you don't know unless you have a pathology report done.

I am no doctor, and I am only speaking on my own opinion, but I will always spend the money for the D&C.

Good luck with the miso, but remember there are more options that MAY give you more answers.
