I like Cruz, but I don't know why you like matching fn and ln like that? It sounds a little theatrical. Perhaps spend time looking at names that start with other letters, perhaps that have family significance, and see if you have a different frontrunner? But if Cruz is truly your favorite in the end, don't think it's terrible!

Cross. That's what it means; specifically, the cross from the Christian crucifixion story. I don't like it. Sorry.

I was going to say that it sounds like a last name, and I don't like it. Knowing it's meaning, however, makes me like it! I wouldn't use it if you aren't fairly religious, though.
love the name Carter too! My husbands friend named their son Carter so we don't want to use it as well. I think we are going to give some other names a thought. Many ladies mentioned the alliteration being silly. We will see if there are some other unique names (that fit our personalities) that don't stretch as far as Cruz. Thanks again guys!

It is a deeply religious name. I support Cruz when it is being used by someone who understands that it is in honor of the Holy Cross on which The Savior died.
If you just think it sounds cool then I don't think it is a good idea.
