Quick question. The 2 IUI cycles I've done with my current RE she hasn't done any blood work or given me progesterone afterwards. We are using Clomid with a trigger. I go in for a baseline and then follicle scans before triggering. But there is no blood work done at those times. Is this because we are MFI or is this something they should be doing?
I haven't had blood work done either. Last cycle, I got paranoid about my progesterone levels and insisted that I get the 7dpiui test done. This cycle, I asked about other blood work, and after insisting, she agreed we would be more proactive about testing the next round. My doc doesn't think its necessary given our situation, but I want all the answers! We are in the same MFI boat as you, and honestly, I do think that dx has a lot to do with it.
I would be curious about some of the ladies who do get blood work done.

Beta 1 (1/9/2015): 292 Beta 2 (1/12/2015): 843
I think it has a lot to do with it as well. IUI is the only way sperm meets egg for us. And its as simple as that I guess. But I will be asking tomorrow when I go in just because I'm curious about her opinion.
I don't get bloodwork at baseline and mid-cycle ultrasounds, and I never had 7DPO progesterone tested, but I always assumed that if I have a nice long luteal phase and no spotting, then it wouldn't be an issue? Our office tests progesterone at a 2nd beta if it comes to that.
January 3T Siggy Challenge - New Year's Resolutions
Me (29), DH (30) TTC actively 54 55+ cycles | All BFNs
My RE doesn't do blood work on oral medication cycles, either. He also doesn't prescribe progesterone supps, all off which he does even using injectable meds
Well, the only blood work he checks is 7dpo. But even last month, mine came back low and he wasnt necessarily concerned, bc he still didn't prescribe supps
4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012) All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal
They take my blood at baseline to make sure I'm def not PG, then mid-cycle to pinpoint my ovulation. I've never had problems ovulating, but since I'm taking clomid they want to try and control the timing as best as possibly in preparation for the IUI. I've only used the trigger shot twice during my IUIs, but they wouldn't know when to order that if they had never done bloodwork, so I guess I just don't know how they could get the timing right without checking that? The only time I don't have bloodwork done is at the actual IUI. Also, this is my first IUI with progestrone (IUI #5, but the first 2 I had were natural)
I never had my progesterone checked other than baseline testing until 3 IUIs in. When I got it tested again, it was low so now I'm on progesterone supplements every cycle.
Now I get more regular blood work since I'm on injectables, but when i was on oral medication I didn't get blood work every month.
My RE does the 7DPO progesterone test and after having 2 cycles with high numbers (both cycles my level was 43) and two BFN I think it is a waste of money for us people paying OOP. My RE also does ultrasounds the day of trigger and either the day of an IUI or two days after TI to visually confirm ovulation, so I really don't know why he also does the 7DPO test. I think my RE is just a money whore.

3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests - BFN
3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

um...I get my blood taken about a million times per cycle!!! (ok, actually more like 4 or 5). My poor arm! I never knew others didn't get it tested as much.
This is my first IUI cycle (with clomid and ovidrel), and I was tested for LH and E2 on CD 12 when I had an u/s. I won't be going for progesterone at 7dpo I think because they assume the trigger forced ovulation, and I am on suppositories.
