What did you do after ET?

I have my ET tomorrow at 0545am... And I live 2 hours from the facility yiiiiikes. I have the day off from work. The 2 hours after I will be laying in the back seat of the car. Then probably sleep must of the day haha. I am also lucky enough to have the next day off too. Saturday however I have a 12hr ICU shift. The NP in the RE office said some women are up and moving that same day. I'll be afraid to even sneeze the same day. Lol What did you guys do? Take it easy? Go straight back to work? Spend the day in bed? Just curious... And nervous.....at this time tomorrow I'll be PUPO for 8 hours already lol

Re: What did you do after ET?

  • My RE requires you take a valium an hour before transfer, so I was good and relaxed during and after the ET. He also doesn't mandate bedrest or laying flat. I swear, I was on the table, the embies were put in, and I was up and walking within 2 minutes. I reclined the seat for the drive home and then laid in bed the rest of the day.  I was back to work the next day.

    Good luck!

    October 2014 IVF (micro-lupron protocol: mircrolupron, Menopur, Follistim, dexamethasone): 8 eggs, 4 mature, 3 fertilized w/ICSI; 3 transferred day 3 = BFP! Beta 1=121; Beta 2=287; Beta 3 =678. Miscarriage @ 8w2d. :(
  • I had a 2.5 hour drive home. right after ET we went for launch and then drove home. I wasn't on bed rest, but I was taking everything light. I work from home and had lot of work left to do, so did that.
  • Loading the player...
  • I had bed rest for the rest of the day, most of which I spend in a reclined seat in the car since it took 4.5 hours to drive home (stupid Chicago traffic!). Then take it easy until beta. I've done a couple of light workouts, but not much more.

  • My RE said not to do bed rest. She felt studies had a greater success rate that way. Nothing strenuous, no exercise, no housework and no lifting >5 lbs. Not really sure what that leaves! I did a lot of couch resting and did not get a BFP. I guess I should have walked around more?? I don't know.
  • BFP mentioned

I was on bedrest the day of and instructed to take it easy the next day. I am a nurse as well and I was very nervous to work the weekend following ET. I just didnt want to put too much stress on my body. I ended up not working that weekend at all due to low census and a migraine. I did end up with a BFP this cycle.

  • @saratrying‌ and @katemonster1‌ i was not offered Valium - unless they offer some relaxation once I'm there. They only offered 'laser acupuncture' so far which kind of seems like BS to me and $200 on top, so I declined. A regular acupuncture session costs like 30-50 bucks so I don't understand how a flash lite is 200 lol. Thank you everyone for sharing what you could :)
