TTC Again Check In 10/22

This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently TTC again, either on their own, or via injectibles, IUI, IVF, adoption, etc. 

A check-in will be posted every week. Please reply to the check-in post if you would like to be added to the group. Each check-in will provide the opportunity for you to provide an update as to where you currently are in your TTC. 

 

Once you get pregnant please post about your first and second beta then move over to the pregnancy check in.

QOTW:  When you were picking your career would you have done something differently? Been in a different profession?

Jessylane8- 10/15-Cycle #5 but who is counting? 

 

MrsAmyDylan-10/8-We are just waiting for our appointment on 10/20. So hanging out now. 

 

Okitty-10/1-SAIF Lurker timidly stepping forward!: DH and I are somewhat trying for #2. DS is only 2 mos old today, and while I'm breastfeeding I realize our chances are low (no AF yet) but we aren't preventing. DS took 5 years and was a surprise during our adoption wait. We hope to be lucky and have an unmedicated BFP as we aren't up for any interventions. If not, we'll revisit our adoption plan when DS is 18 mos (per our agency's rule). 

 

Richzep-10/15-AF came today. But I have an appointment with my RE on 11/5.  Will likely move up my FET.

TTC, with treatments

 

Ann679-I had my retrieval yesterday.  I'm completely shocked.  They got 8 eggs and 6 of them fertilized.  That's more than my first 2 cycles combined.  Now I'm hoping for some good growth.  

 

Chiwifey-10/15-Suppression check went well this morning. Start stims tomorrow and head to CO on Monday! I can't believe IVF #4 and final is here. Praying and feeling at peace right now and hope it lasts. 

 

Djma81-Baseline was great....4mm thin lining. Also had uterine scraping done that day to help get my uterus ready for the embryos! I had it done with my last transfer which end edit being successful so we are following exact same protocal as before. Dropped Lupron to 10 units and began Estrace last week after baseline. Go in next Tuesday for another ultrasound and if all is well transfer will be the next Monday 27th!!
emwaiting – 6/18We are currently off all meds and just seeing what will happen on our own.  Praying for that little miracle to happen.  You know be one of those that can say "it will happen when you quit trying!" ha  I will be 6 wks tomorrow from my last period so that is frustrating that it won't come on it's own.  If it isn't here in another week then they will do a blood test to make sure I'm not prego and then do the meds to start my period.  Kinda hard to have that miracle without my period or ovulating.  We had to do IVF to get our DS so we are thinking we will have to go down that road again so time to save $$ again!  

fullfhope –10/15-My betas were rising, but lower than average. Now I've had preg scan and we saw a heartbeat but the gestational sac is measuring behind. I go back to repeat scan next Wednesday. Why can't it be easy? 

 

itsmevkb -8/20- We did the transfer last Monday of our one little frosty and everything went smoothly.  Yesterday I tested and got a positive.  I'm literally shaking typing that out.  I'm scared.  Scared of something going wrong, scared of having a crappy beta on Wednesday, scared of where in the world we're fitting another baby into our house, scared of just everything both good and bad.  

JBDamonm-10/15-I got my period yesterday and am going for my baseline tomorrow. Not looking forward to the nastiness of that!!!! QOTW - I guess surgery, but only some Botox for my face and then laser hair removal everywhere. Oh and if there was any procedure to lighten brown spots on my face, I would take that too! ETA - after 9 days on Lupron I thought I was handling it ok, feeling physically fine but then I went absolutely bat shit crazy on DH the other night. I am embarrassed by my behavior

 

Julie21613-10/15-My baseline u/s was great... lining thin so started stims last Thursday.  I'm doing the MDLF protocol.  Had b/w Tuesday to check my E2 after 5 days of stims.  WTF???  16???  Have to go back tomorrow for an u/s and more b/w.  Feeling pretty beat up right now.  Not holding out much hope that I will make it to retrieval.  Why is it never easy?

 

KDR19179-7/16 I haven't been on the bump in awhile because I have been busy with the twins and work, but we are in the process of going back for our single frozen embryo. We don't tell many people IRL when we are going through IVF cycles, so I would love to talk about it somewhere! CD day 1 was July 10, I saw the RE on Monday. I'm taking estradiol 2mg 3x daily. I go back on 7/21 for an ultrasound and blood draw. The embryo transfer is scheduled for 7/28. We only have 1 embryo left and it has about a 65% chance of surviving thaw. If it survives thaw, it has a 27-30% chance of pregnancy. I love swimming, but don't get to do it much. I never thought I would want a pool until we had kids. If we had a pool, I think I would swim every day in the Summer!

 

 

mnj05 – 10/15-I am officially PUPO! We transferred one beautifully hatching embryo this afternoon. Beta is next Friday and I'm wanting to hold off on testing until Wednesday but we'll see. 

MoFree –10/15-I just started meds in preparation for FET in early-mid November. Hello god awful headaches where I just want to curl up in a dark and quiet room. I don't if others feel this way but cycling with a child is so much more complicated.

 

Pam MG – 10/1-Still hanging out

 

Phishgirl29- 10/15-BFP with a beta of 16.4, so not holding out much hope. I go back on Monday for repeat blood work.  

 

Pinkmickey24-9/17 Cycle 3 is underway. Going to sit down and chat with DH about when we should return to the RE. I want to cycle August/September again because a May/June baby if all works out is much nicer on a teacher's schedule, but I would be grateful for a baby at anytime in the year.

STL34-10/15-I know I am super late to this post.  Last week was pretty sucky.  I started Ganirelix this past Saturday.  I should get AF this week and then go in for a preliminary baseline.  If that goes well, we will do a second baseline October 31 so that I can start stims on November 3 (I think).  6th and final IVF cycle coming up!  I say final and I thought last cycle was likely final.  But, here we are trying again.  I don't foresee that again, though as we are really putting everything into this cycle (and we are now pretty broke).  I hate that TTC with IF is so based on finances (or lack thereof).

 

 

trigirl79 – 10/15-Got the news yesterday....BFN. What a blow, I really thought this time was it. So now we talk to the financial person, wait for AF, and decide if we're taking the IVF plunge 

WadzFaith-10/15-Got the go ahead to start stims on Saturday, we did this for nine days last time so we will see what this cycle holds.
I agree it is so much harder this time with a lo! The headaches and insomnia came to a head (no pun intended) on Friday and my wonderful hubby let me get some much needed rest.

Bellalou – 10/15 Made my appt for 12-4 to discuss what my plan will be. I know I'm going to need polyps & probably fluid removed. Hoping to do all this while my deductible is met!

 

Kaf7-10/15-CD 26 here. Just waiting for AF so I can book my sis. When I call to do that I will also enquire about the sperm tank. We got the paperwork in the mail to sign for the sperm release. I am waiting on my DHEA to come on the bus. Was supposed to get a phone call about it Tuesday but haven't heard yet.

QOTW: I wouldn't have changed although my profession is getting much harder to deal with every year.

I'm still plugging along... things are progressing very slowly.  Going back tomorrow for u/s & b/w.  Had 3 measurable follies on Monday.  Hoping they have a big growth spurt.

QOTW:  I wish I had followed in my mother's footsteps and became a nurse.  I sometimes think I will pursue that when I am done with TTC.

I go back tomorrow for them to check again. Just happily plugging along.

QOTW: I would have done something in the medical field, maybe ultrasound tech...maybe I will change careers

I had my first of two baselines this morning.  Everything looked good on the ultrasound except my AFC was lower. I haven't heard my E2 results, yet.  I have another ultrasound scheduled for October 31 just to make sure nothing funky happens between now and then since I am only on ganirelix.  If that goes well, I will start stims on November 3!!

QOTW:  If I knew then what I know now, I would most likely have picked something else!

Confirmed chemical pregnancy. Sucks. I just started bleeding yesterday so I'm CD2 now. We are taking this cycle off while we decide what our next step is. I'm thinking of a follistim IUI cycle next, maybe 2 if I have enough leftover drugs before we try our final embryo in our last FET in February.

QOTW: I love my job as a teacher. It's high stress spring testing season but I love it!

My update-had second scan today with my favorite Dr and she was so positive and upbeat, we saw a strong heartbeat and while are still measuring behind she said is less than a week behind and she thinks this is ok.  I have now graduated to OB. Next appointment is Nov. 3. Thank you ladies for your concern, much appreciated.

QOTW: I love teaching (and truly do miss it while I am only working part time now) but I do wonder if I would sometimes be happier in a different field that didn't take so much time and emotional toll...

So we decided to go ahead with IVF...a huge blow to me but I'm super hopeful. AF arrived Sunday, started BCP Monday. Plan is BCP x 19 days, then monitoring, starting meds around the 11th with ER somewhere between Nov 22 and 24 and transfer between Nov 25 and 29. Which means it could happen on Thanksgiving.

My FET is scheduled for 11/14. I have a ways to go but I am actually feeling excited. I'm happy it's a longer cycle - I feel like I needed this extra time to mentally prepare - and enjoy things like sushi. Now I just have to hope that nothing goes wrong btwn now and then.

QOTW. My degree is in marketing - I don't think that was the wrong choice for my 22 year old self - however now that I have more life experiences I would love to be a nurse. Particularly in the post partum baby unit....

@phishgirl29‌ I'm so so sorry.....keep your head up. Update: U/S and labs all good....lining at 9mm on Tuesday. Scheduled for transfer Monday!! Eekkk. Transferring two again this time. QOTW; I loved working in the medical field....SAHM now and not sure if I'll ever go back!

 We had a good consult. It looks like we will do the clomid challenge + IUI in December (which will take care of all our pre-cycle testing. IVF in January, assuming the IUI doesn't work. 

Qotw: I loved my American studies/history major. In hindsight I wish i had done a more useful major. I have no regrets about leaving mainstream Corporate America. I love my seasonal business and the time it gives me home with J. I have no idea if I will continue my business long term.

Hugs phishgirl. Congrats mnj05 I travel for my SIS on Monday. Worked out well since I don't work that day. Still not sure how I will manage taking all of feb off. I haven't started my DHEA yet. This has been a wicked period with diarrhea and bad persistent acne so I have been holding off... QOTW: I don't know what I would've done, but I wish I picked something that was less stressful, gave me more time at home with my family, and interrupted my sleep less. Sleep is the big one. I don't know what I was thinking picking something where working nights was a guarantee.

Phish - I'm so sorry. Update - had my baseline on Tuesday and all was well. Started Delestrogen injections that night. Transfer still set for 11/18. QOTW: I would've gone to med school. I started out premed in undergrad and let a "C" grade in chem get the best of me. Knowing what I know now, I would've fought harder and pushed through.

I am tentatively scheduling the IVF work-up for IVF/ICSI #4 in November.  Insurance coverage for it is not looking good but I will know more next week.  I am hoping DH drives down to meet me for the appointment but he is still not really on board with the cost, sigh.   

QOTW: I think I would have gone into medicine, especially it seems being an RE would have been lucrative

Beta number one is in and it's 216! My progesterone is 6, a lot lower than what I anticipated.
