Consult for #2 update

We had our consult yesterday afternoon with our RE that helped us with J.

We had a few interesting bits of info from the cycle that brought us J, but no frosties. 1) is that the embryologist noted that my eggs had poor morphology (never heard this in reference to eggs, but okay). 2) DH's sperm didn't bind well to my eggs (which may explain why we haven't gotten pg on our own).

RE suggested ICSI and possibly PGS, as that could save the $ and heartache of failed transfers. He also mentioned doing a fresh transfer, then PGS on any that made it to freeze in order to line up the best embie should the fresh fail or if we want another child. We would also adjust my meds given my poor med response with ivf#1.

We also discussed doing a clomid challenge diagnostic cycle with an IUI (this would get all my IVF prep out of the way, but inseminate as long as we have the eggs grown out from the clomid challenge). We could then head right to IVF again the following cycle provided the testing didn't reveal any problems.

We discussed a timeline...clomid challenge + IUI in December. Then looking at January for IVF, provided the iui didn't work.

Sorry this is so long! I'm feeling hopeful, but not desperate like the last time! It helps to have sweet little J to hug and kiss!
