Pregnant after a Loss

Rainbow Baby Announcement

Good Morning all!

I hope to make it over to this page eventually, but right now we are just starting to try for our rainbow baby. We lost our only child (son) to cancer 10 days shy of his second birthday (I will share my full story when I do my official introduction).

I am curious on if anyone did pregnancy announcements for your rainbow baby incorporating your angel. I have been having a hard time finding one that I would use when the time comes and it is really important to me to incorporate him into our announcement.

Thank you in advance for any ideas!

Re: Rainbow Baby Announcement

  • Hello - I'm so sorry for the loss of your son ((((HUGS)))).

As for "announcing" we took baby steps and told friends and family in person.  We waited until I was about 22-23 weeks before putting anything up on facebook and that did not mention anything about our losses, however that was intentional.  We didn't feel right about calling him our rainbow baby until he's actually here, in our arms.  So, when we introduce him once he's been born, we'll incorporate a rainbow baby element to the announcement on social media.

  • I did.  We posted a picture of me and DH, and I was wearing a tshirt that had a rainbow over my belly and said "rainbow baby".  I also posted the meaning of "rainbow baby" along with the picture.  It was a HUGE hit.
