Freaking out- T&P please

After getting the results from the Verifi back yesterday, which showed that we are having a chromosomally normal baby girl, I was over the moon. It felt like so much stress had been lifted. Only to get a call today from our OB saying that I am a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis. Now my husband has to go in and get tested, if he is also a carrier (a 1:30 chance for Caucasians) there is a 25% chance of our little girl having CF. I'm a complete wreck thinking of that possibility. I'm also mad, because I was finally at the point where I was feeling ready to tell people, and ready to enjoy this pregnancy. Now, I feel like that has been put on hold and there is this dark cloud. I've been hysterically crying all afternoon. I know the chances are slim that our baby has CF, just feeling overwhelmed.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that.  I don't have much info on this, but if I recall correctly from past posts on IF or 3T about this, the odds are still definitely in your favor.  Hopefully you get DHs results back so you can move forawrd and go back to being super excited.

T&P your way.  Praying your hubby isn't a carrier, there is a very very very slim chance he is.  If you have any questions about CF, let me know, I work on a pediatric CF unit.

It is so difficult. Even though you have good odds, the IVF/infertility journey takes so much of our emotional reserves that even something that is unlikely throws our how world into a tailspin.

Thank you ladies! I had a rough night last night, extremely worried, which gave me a terrible migraine. I think I've just felt so lucky up until this point, and I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Today is a bit better. I realize that 99.3% chance of a baby without CF is pretty good odds. All this stress is not good for me or the baby, I'm going to withdraw from the internet for a bit, and stop Googling and just wait it out. I hope to be back her soon with good news, you all are the best!
