This check-in is open to anyone that is part of the SAIF community and is currently pregnant.

 

If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include you EDD and how many beans you have cooking.

Q: Favorite thing to cook for dinner?

 

Blueberries8-9/2-Currently 7w4d with twins. I continue to have on/off bleeding from the SCH. I had another ultrasound on Wednesday and the SCH is measuring slightly bigger. I had a RE appointment on Thursday and my RE is shocked that I got pregnant with twins from this cycle and he is very concerned about the possibility of a very preterm birth due to my history and the current bleeding (also had chronic bleeding in my previous twin pregnancy which eventually resulted in premature rupture of membranes, likely due to the blood wearing down the amniotic sac). He even mentioned the possibility of reduction, not because he is recommending it per se but because he wanted it to be on my radar screen.

 

ccam - EDD 11.29.14 – 10/7- I'm 32w 3d today.  Not much to update besides the fact that I'm really slowing down.  I've been sick for the past week and it's wearing me out.  I did make some progress in the nursery this past weekend, which was a plus.  My sister's wedding is next Friday and I can't wait for it to be over so I can focus on baby stuff and getting our house ready!

 

Ducky719-EDD 3/8/15 -10/7-I am 18w2d and overall feeling pretty good.  I have started to have some hip pain and I realized this morning that I will not be wearing heels to work for the remainder of my pregnancy.  The pain was immediate and incredibly intense with the first step I took so flats it is!  I have also been experiencing some pressure down there when I stand for an hour or longer.  My goal is to drink more water and get my feet up more.  I had protein in my urine at my appointment 5 weeks ago which has me a little bummed but I am hoping after my 24 hour collection that I'll be given a clear bill of health so I can stop worrying.  2 weeks until a/s and I'm dying!!  I feel like time has started going so slow!

 

Itsmevkb-9/30-I'm 9 weeks and had an ultrasound yesterday.  The baby was measuring 5 days ahead and had a good heartbeat so I was happy.  My spotting has stopped.  I go back in three weeks for a NT scan and to get my cervix measured.

 

Jenny935- 18 weeks today! Things seem to have calmed down which makes me happy. I was able to go to a playoff Orioles game last weekend and even with the walking from the parking garage and lots of standing and cheering, I didn't spot. Woohoo! 

Kdfecarie, EDD 8/29/14 (CS 8/22/14) 7/22 sorry its been a while life is crazy here right now, and i dont see it letting up till maybe november! 35 weeks now, and baby will be here in 26 days! I cant believe its so soon!!! Been rough with contractions and sickness making a return... Only a few more weeks!

 

KDR1919- EDD 4/16/15-8/12 I'm very early, 5 weeks tomorrow. EDD 4/16/15. My ultrasound is scheduled for 8/25. I'm still taking estradiol and progesterone 3 x daily. I don't feel pregnant and this doesn't seem real yet! It is hard to believe that it took 12 embryos over 5 transfers to get my twins and this pregnancy is from 1 single frozen embryo?!?

 

KMC84-EDD4/11/15-10/7- 13w4d today! Pregnancy wise everything is going as it should  unfortunately, my DH brought home the plague (very nasty cold). He is getting better, A only had it for 2 days (thank god!), and I am feeling horrid  can't eat, can't sleep at night, headaches, terrible sore throat, fever, crazy congestion....it just won't quit!! I'm miserable 

 

LuvBoston, EDD 3/9/15-10/7- I'm 18 weeks2 days and still having stomach issues and cramping at night. Also it hurts to wear pants like my lower abdomen hurts has anyone ever had this?
My MFM cancelled my a/s for this week so have to wait until next week. 

 

mdiblasi10 –EDD 1/30/15- 9/30-I'm in Florida on vacation, so just checking in really quick on my phone  Not much to update. Everything is great. Baby girl is SO active, just like her brother was. I made it through 5 days of Disney Parks in the crazy humidity, rain and miles of walking! It was fun and G really, really enjoyed himself. 

Mayzie15- EDD 2/01/15- 10/7- I can't believe I'm 23 weeks! I have an icky cold but other than that I'm doing really well. 

 

Mnerani – 9/2-Headed to 36 weeks this weekend! I have just started to feel big, slow, and tired- the lovely end of third tri. Our shipment from Kenya is going to be delivered to our house on Saturday (!) which is the last big, move-related "to do" before the baby arrives. Once we get all of that stuff moved in, I know I'm going to be like "OK, baby- time to meet your family!"

 

Pennylane26 -Boy EDD 11.26.14 –10/7- 32 weeks and not.sleeping.at.all! I'm so ready for this baby to arrive. I will say, though, I am really treasuring this one on one time with DD, I know it don't last forever and I'm a little teary thinking about it! I have an u/s on Thursday, but not much else going on.

 

srveatch –10/7- I am 32 weeks. Growth scans have been going great. Baby boy doesn't care at all that he has a two vessel cord. I am carrying him very low and starting to see my legs and feet swelling but BP is doing well. I am traveling for work next week and I am a little nervous about it. I just want to stay close to home and I am dreading spending time away from A. We only have limited time left just me and her . I couldn't be a Dr, no blood for me!

Robeano-EDD 2/3/15- 10/7-23 weeks. So close to V day!!! Baby is moving around a lot, awesome. I'm starting to get uncomfortable at night and sleeping has started to suffer, not awesome. My only saving grace is afternoon naps for Hannah and I.

VDay!!!!! It's finally here. I had a midwife appointment this morning. Everything is looking good, although I was measuring a week ahead with the tape measure thing, but I know how easy that can be misread. But at a/s baby was measuring big too. I guess we make big kids lol. So midwife told me today that I will have a consult with an anesthesiologist for just in case I end up with an emergency c-section. A consult with an OB to assess my success rate of a VBAC. And at least two more ultrasounds this pregnancy. Oh and I'm due to go for my second 2 hour glucose test now. Ugh, I'm not trying to be a 'difficult' patient lol. But my midwives are awesome and they don't mind. In fact that tease me that I have the biggest file of all their patients.

QOTW: I love making pasta and meat sauce. Super easy and so tasty!!!

I hit 24 weeks on Friday, yay! I've been feeling great. I have my glucose test on Thursday and next OB appointment on Friday. I am really looking forward to our maternity photo shoot next month. Otherwise I'm just enjoying being pregnant

QOTW: Tacos! I love them and they're simple. I made cuban beef and peppers in my slow cooker the other day and served it as tacos - SO GOOD!

Update: We're back from our trip! It was very tiring but it went smoothly. I had my NT scan yesterday -- babies were measuring 13w and 13w1d and they both looked good and the NT measurements were normal. Unfortunately I still have the SCH it seems (after being told a couple of weeks ago it was no longer measurable) but it is smaller than it was and I haven't bled since week 7, so fingers crossed it reabsorbs completely and gives me no more trouble. I also found out I have placenta previa, but I assume it is partial because the doctor seemed pretty unconcerned by it and seems very optimistic it will move away from the cervix with time. He seemed to think it's two girls, but it is obviously really early to tell with any certainty by u/s, so time will tell! I stopped PIO last week (my sore butt is so happy!) and I am now tapering from Prednisone. I have a MFM appointment and a routine scan next week.  

QOTW: I really like to make (and eat!) homemade mac & cheese...it's my ultimate comfort food.

Update: Just about 33 weeks! I am really looking forward to meeting this little man! BP has been good on meds, heartburn is also easing up and u/s showed that he is head down and very low (though I could tell you that just by the pressure!). Aiming for an induction date around 38 weeks if we make it that far. 

QOTW: Like Ducky, I love making soup. Just made a great butternut squash soup. So delicious with a little nutmeg! Yum!

@blueberries8 I've been thinking about you and the babies. I'm glad to hear everything looks good and hoping the SCH is gone for good soon!

14+3 for me! Nothing new to report we told the ILs on Sunday and it went pretty well. Only one person irritated me and it wasn't who I was expecting! Still trying to kick this awful cold-I feel much better but the sinus headaches and congestion won't quit!

QOTW: probably meatloaf. I found a super easy and very tasty recipe that I can throw together fast! If I really feel like cooking though, there's a pumpkin/mushroom pasta dish that is delish!!!

Update:  I'm 33w4d today! The countdown is on - less than 6 weeks until my RCS.  I had a regular OB appointment last week and although I've been measuring on track this whole pregnancy, I am now measuring a little ahead.  The Dr thinks based on that and DS that I'm looking at another 9lb baby, even at 39 weeks.  That kind of makes the thought of another RCS a little easier!

QOTW:  I have to agree with soup.  I try to make some kind of soup once a week this time of year.  I love having soup now that the weather is turning cooler (or at least it was!).  And I also like having leftovers to make with grilled cheese later in the week - yum!  And DS loves my soup, so that's always a plus.  His favorites are my chicken noodle and chicken tortilla.

Still doing well my glucose and other blood work is around the corner. For now I'm enjoying our vacation .

QOTW - I love making vegetarian chili - I'm vegetarian and even though my husband loves meat in the winter we love this chili.

I'm due on Dec 27th and will be 30 weeks tomorrow.  This baby is a girl and will be our 3rd and final.  Everything has gone very well this pregnancy and I'm looking forward to our Christmas time baby!

QOTD: Italian food is always my favorite to cook.  I tried to make a "copy cat" item from my favorite restaurant yesterday and it turned out very similar to the orginal!

I am 19 weeks, I had a horrible cold that brought me down but I'm better now. My stomach is on a roll this week causing trouble and my blood sugar is very low which is causing me to have double vision. My MFM said I should carry candy with me which is the total opposite of what the endocrine doc says.
I had both the fetal echo and a/s and both looked good! Baby is def a boy.

Q: paleo baked fried chicken
My entire family loves it I end up making like 3 batches. It also tastes great cold.

Update #2 for me this week..... Well, this baby is a trouble maker! I thought I lost baby this morning. I had cramps bad enough to wake to up at 3:45am and I realized I was leaking something. I got to the bathroom with blood all over the crotch of my pants, sat on the toilet and had a small gush of blood and then a clot that was easily bigger than baby is right now. I called my OB and he had me take some Tylenol and lay down since the bleeding wasn't bad. I had an u/s this morning and baby is fine I have a very low anterior placenta (no previa) that looks fine. They have no idea where a clot that size came from. I'd love some answers, but for now, I'm happy baby is happy! I'm having another u/s Thursday at my OB appointment and I'm on pelvic rest now.....just when I was comfortable wanting to get busy again

@kmc84 I posted on PAIF also, but I'm so happy baby looks okay. I hope he/she doesn't give you any more scares!

@kmc84 I finally got around to the bump again, I've been thinking about you a lot this morning, so glad everything is okay with baby!!!! We have been through enough with IF that we don't need this crap too!!!

@Ducky719‌ thank you! Gave myself quite a scare too.....I really thought it was the baby in the toilet

She didn't give a time frame. I think because they have no idea where that size of a clot was hiding, they don't want to say when. We will see what next weeks scan looks like.

Aww @Ducky719‌ no tears! The SCH I had was small and at the u/s the next morning, it was almost gone (6+5), then at 7+5 it was completely gone. I had scans at 10 and 12 weeks and there was nothing unusual there either! I'm stumped as well!

This was so weird! There really was less blood than the SCH, but the clot. Was. So. Big! Ugg!

@kmc84‌ glad baby is ok, last pg this same thing happened a lot sometimes there are SCH they can't see. When I delivered I had a giant one behind the placenta so you never know.

@kmc84 Oh my gosh scary stuff. So glad that it turned out ok, but definitely odd! At least having a clot that big gives you a reason for the cramping...hopefully everything will calm down now that it's out. 

@blueberries8 Glad the little ones are doing ok. Hope that SCH behaves itself!

@ducky719 I did at 24 hour collection once...it was so much harder than I thought it would be. I had to leave a cup on top of the closed toilet to remind me to collect each time! I hope the numbers all come out ok.

And now for my update...I'm at 19w4d and we had our a/s yesterday. All the body parts are measuring on target and everything is looking healthy - for our little girl. Whee! I had prepared myself for another boy, and that would have been totally ok because after all this IF, I just wanted a baby. But the fact that after all the pain and sadness and cycling and ups and downs, we still wound up with one of each seems like a dream.

@luvboston‌ I was actually thinking of you because I remember you had lots of bleeding and clotting. Did you notice if anything helped or hurt in terms of frequency of episodes?

I'm still so baffled at the size of the clot, small amount of bleeding, and that it appeared from nowhere identifiable!

Everyone who we have told IRL is saying I must be doing too much at home, I'm too stressed, ect.... Dd is about 25lbs and yes, I pick her up and carry her up and down the stairs, but I don't 'work out', almost never lift anything heavier than her, I walk but never run..... Gosh I'm lazy! Lol! Other than housework and grocery shopping, I'm not really doing anything that I consider stressful or 'too much'.

Was your delivery complicated at all from the clots or bleeding?

Bedrest helped a lot it cleared the big ones and lying on my left side when I was lying or sleeping. Drinking buckets of water. But truthfully nothing except for not moving at all was gonna keep that stuff in there if it wanted to come out.
My birth wasn't complicated but I didn't have an abruption and who knows if it was because of the clot or my placenta just couldn't take it anymore.

Did you have more frequent u/s? Did you see MFM because of this?

I asked to have an u/s next week and my OB was fine with that. I'm seeing MFM for my as, but I wonder if I should see them for more than just that?

I always see an MFM because I am very high risk due to so many m/c as well as my mountain of other health problems. I think if your OB is handling it and things are going well there is no need to see an MFM unless they have a better u/s machine. My MFM has a level 3 and my OB has a 2. Yes I had an ultrasound every week until I wasn't bleeding constantly and the SCH had basically cleared up but that was 22 weeks. Then we went every 2 weeks then at 32 weeks every week. Then twice a week.
