Week/Fruit: 27/rutabaga. 3rd trimester wooohooooooo! I officially have 10 weeks, max, until Zoe is here. Next week that will be in the single digits.
How are you feeling? I'm feeling achy and sore, the usual.I think I'm getting some more heartburn now, too?
Appointments/Updates? Had my weekly u/s this past Monday and she's still growing nicely- was an estimated 2.1 pounds. Liver and kidney blood work fine. Platelet count a bit low, though. But BP pretty stable so they aren't too concerned.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? All of the things! We're just about 100% done shopping. Just need coming home outfit. Everything else is done.
Rants/Raves: I'm having "miss the husband" struggles the past few days It's been really really getting to me. He comes after work/school and stays until about 8:30pm, then goes back home. And it's been hitting us both hard this week. I've now been on bed rest for 4 weeks and I guess that part of it is becoming worse. I HATE sleeping alone, it's lonely. And he hates going to an empty house. I really wish the next 10 weeks would fly.
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? Maybe outside to the courtyard :P No really. My dream vacation is Italy!!
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
How are you feeling? Feeling really good, but not looking forward to 105 degree temps this weekend
Appointments/Updates? I have my 3-hour glucose test tomorrow....t&p's that I pass!
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? No, but I started my registry
Rants/Raves: I started 20 lbs heavier this time around, so I have been feeling fat lately. I saw my sister-in-law yesterday, who I haven't seen since we made our announcement in July, and she kept raving about how beautiful I look. Made my day
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? I've been before, but I love it....Oahu, Hawaii...particularly the resort we stayed at, Ko Olina (right next to the Disney resort)...there is a private lagoon and every day they have kids' activities. Very relaxing. And, no babymoon for us....unless you count a recent trip to Texas to see a UCLA football game....NOT! LOL
@CrazyMonkeyBear and @ladyamanuet- you guys are so sweet :x I'm not sure what anyone can do to make the weeks fly! I have a LOT to keep me occupied. Lots of Netflix, coloring books, crafts, books, computer, I've been starting to learn to crochet. But it still tends to go a little slow when you can't really move. And I really was doing OK with it- for some reason I'm just struggling more emotionally this week missing my husband. He does get to spend weekends here (Friday/Saturday nights) which helps. I'm just kinda at the point where I'm done with this. It's been a month. And when I realize I (hopefully) have 2 left, ughhhh. I'm just whiny lately, sorry
ladyamanuet- your dream trip sounds like a dream to me, too. I would absolutely love to do that. We did a smaller scale road trip about 5 years ago (my H is a teacher so summers off) and took 3 weeks and did it... but just 5 states (northeast, so they're closer together). It was SOOOO fun, I'd love to do it on a larger scale and hit more up.
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
@musicfanatic - can you be in a wheelchair and at least get to see something other than your room at all? I really feel like 30 minutes a week outside with some fresh air would do wonders....
I'm allowed out 2x a week now Started last week because my BP is stable. But it has to be under 140/90 to go out. And I do get 15 minute daily walks through the hall (to prevent bed sores and make sure my muscles and joints have some action/movement) but that's it. (the outside time is 15 minutes, and they wheel me down.. but I do get to get out of the chair and walk around for the 15 minutes). So I'm not 100% bound. But man, 15 minutes kinda flies.
I also get to shower 2x a week (so gross) but they limit me to 10-15 minutes. (and they stay in the stupid bathroom with me! Because sometimes my vision goes funny with the heat).
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
How are you feeling? Tires, stressed and depressed.
Appointments/Updates? I have an Ob appointment on October 8th.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? Yes I've bought a bunch of stuff. Still searching for a coming home outfit. I still have DS from 9 years ago debating on using that.
Rants/Raves: Rant - We currently live in a 2 bedroom, with very high rent. We have been trying to get an apartment in a certain community ( a 3 bedroom slightly lower rent, closer to my family and DS school) for a few years now. Management of that apartment has denied me based on my credit score (which was 700) ridiculous. I fought that and won. Also 2 months ago the manager failed to mail out an update form to me on time, she mailed it a month later than all other applicants on the wait list. I have proof of this. I fought this and also won. I was told I am next to be called for an apartment, I just found out an hour ago that there are 3 units available and Im wondering why I haven't been called. I seriously think the woman is mad that I didn't just accept and give up, and that's why she is being manipulative. I am going to go to their office and ask why I haven't been notified of an available apartment. May not be a good idea since Im very emotional at the moment, and tired of all of this.
Also at my DS appt yesterday was told that we should go through with removing his tonsils and adenoids. 2 years ago he had issues with his throat every few months, I took him to a specialist when I suspected tonsillitis, ENT Dr. wanted to do both surgeries (because that's how he usually performs the procedure) but I didn't see why adenoids had to be removed if not medically necessary, nor did his pedi. This past year he has had a total of 5 nosebleeds that looked like crime scenes. So now his Doctor and I agree that both surgeries need to be performed. This is scary to me.
Depressed that DH is rarely ever home anymore, he started a second job on the weekends, and he has been doing a lot of side work when he gets out of work during the week. Grateful for the extra income. But when he does come home he complains more than I do, and if I try to say anything about not feeling well, pain ect the focus goes back on him. So I don't try to communicate any issues anymore. Also if I bring up tasks that need to be completed or started, he feels I am trying to argue with him ( I'm not, I just don't feel comfortable pushing everything off. Halloween, baby shower, Christmas and LO's DD is coming, it's stressful).
Rave: I am thankful I started participating on TB, and Jan 2015 moms. I feel like I have a lot more support, and people to talk to, in a time I feel kind of alone. And I am grateful for all the advice and caring that all of you give to me. Reading everyone's stories and posts, and just having other expecting moms to communicate with and you girls all are understanding and supportive. I would probably be more of a mess if it wasn't for this birth group.
Rave #2: Happy that I have about 15 more weeks ( give or take) to go! It's getting closer and closer to the time I get to meet my little girl, and hold her in my arms instead of my belly!
QOTW/ What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "Babymoon"? I'm not big on travelling. I would like a weekend before LO comes to spend with DH and DS in NH mountains during the fall before it gets too cold.
PS- sorry for the novel. Past 24 hours have just got to me, and I guess I had to let it all out.
I attached images of my DS coming home outfit that I might use for LO's coming home outfit, to get opinions. Images are in my DS baby book, 9 and 1/2 years ago disposable camera's were still around lol.
How are you feeling? Depends on the day. I had a TERRIBLE stomach ache earlier this week that lasted for over 2 hours. That super sucked. My back has also been bothering me a bit more recently, but on the plus side, DH said that we'll practice our Bradley massage relaxation technique some more! ;-)
Appointments/Updates? Nothing really.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? I may have purchased an adorable cloth diaper with sea turtles on it... :-) It is seriously soooo cute! And DH was able to practice putting a diaper on a baby (except it was on Winnie the Pooh), which is good because he's nervous about that kind of stuff.
Rants/Raves: I. Hate. Stupid. DRIVERS. OH MY GOODNESS LEARN TO DRIVE ALREADY AND IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT, GTFO OF MY WAY. I've always had mild road rage where I get upset with people when they're dumb. With pregnancy hormones, I get SO pissed off, and I yell a lot. And then I start crying because I'm so mad. *sigh*
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? No babymoon for us, although we are going to visit friends near Philadelphia next week! Woot! Honestly, I'm not sure what my dream vacation would be. There are still so many places I want to see, and a lot of times, I like to do stuff on vacation. But I also really enjoy being able to just hole up someplace beautiful. Always with DH, though. :-)
Appts/updates: yesterday we had an elective ultrasound, it was so neat to see him 3D we even got a live clip of him yawning I keep watching it over and over.
How are you feeling? Over all feeling pretty good! No complaints
Rants/Raves? Rants I'm so just so over whelmed latley with everything coming up. My step son is turning 9 at the end of this month, we have so much to do before his party. Next is my baby shower which should be fun & relaxing but my family is already making it so stressful. Followed by the holidays and then baby will be here! So much to do, so little time lol
Have you bought/received anything? No, sadly we only have a few things so far. We've been stocking up on diapers since I was 12 weeks so at least we have that....
Dream Vacation? Mine would be a cruise through alaska!
@CrazyMonkeyBear and @ladyamanuet- you guys are so sweet :x I'm not sure what anyone can do to make the weeks fly! I have a LOT to keep me occupied. No. No apologies from you! You've been dealt some crappy cards, and we are here for you to do all the venting and complaining you need to! I would also be super missing my husband. It is just not the same when your time is dictated like that. Here's hoping the next two months fly by for you!!
How are you feeling? My allergies have been horrible lately... It's only right when I wake up or when I'm laying down to go to bed. Driving me crazy.
Appointments/Updates? Next appointment is Tuesday.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? Someone bought the highchair and humidfyer we registered for - anxious to know who was oh-so-kind!
Rants/Raves: People are awkwardly staring at my growing belly. Lets me know that it's obvious that I'm pregnant. But it's also really strange. Especially in the mirroed elevator. I guess people are just in awe of pregnant women!
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? My dream vacation would be a trip Italy with my DH. I've always wanted to go there. No, we are not going on a babymoon.
@aillise Sorry you are having a rough time! Do you live in NH? I grew up there!
(If we have had this convo before, I apologize. My pregnancy brain ailment is no freaking short term memory the past few months.....)
No we haven't had the convo before, and I am right along with you with pregnancy brain, I forget to do little things, and forget someone telling me something so often lately it amazes me.
I am from Boston, MA. Throughout my childhood and teens, I vacationed all summer in NH every year. After we had my son, we occasionally go to Lincoln NH our family has 3 homes ( all neighboring properties) they rent out up there during the summer, and winter seasons typically. More recently we have been going to ME for a week in the summer, at my DH families cottage. I haven't had a fall vacation in a few years and I prefer woods and hiking to beaches.
Appts/Updates: We go for a fetal echocardiogram tomorrow morning so hopefully that will be just fine. DH's mother had a little girl with a heart abnormality that didn't make it, so Dr. requested this. Last US we had was when everything turned south with us because of the DS marker, got negative results, so we're just hoping this one is a little more enjoyable.
How are you feeling? I feel pretty good overall. I think I'm pretty lucky so far, didn't have too many of the negative pregnancy symptoms, just excessive and extreme worry! Oh, and I apparently have an XXX-LG bump. Or so everybody says. How nice of them.
Rants/Raves: ummmm.....my dog! I have a feeling it's going to be a real struggle with him! He's only 9 months, still puppy, but he's extremely mouthy and is an attention whore! He can not stand to be alone anywhere at anytime. He can't go outside by himself, he can't even sit somewhere unless he's directly on top of one of us. And he eats a lot of paper. If he doesn't get what he wants, he just sits there and barks at you. I'm so nervous about how he's going to react when he's not getting all the attention. He better be glad he's cute...Anybody want a free dog?
Bought/received anything? The baby's room is still very much a guest bedroom. I feel incredibly behind. We did have a gender reveal party on Saturday (it's a boy!) and although I told people not to bring gifts, a few did. But other than that, we have nothing. Still working on putting cabinets in the laundry room and hopefully getting a vanity in the bathroom instead of the antique dresser that was converted to a sink before we bought the house. Maybe THEN we can focus on the baby's room. Eeeeeeeeek.
Babymoon? Hopefully! We're trying to get away on our anniversary and my bday in the next few weeks, but, again, we are complete procrastinators and haven't really planned anything. The cabin we stayed in NC for our last anniversary is actually available so if we can work it out, I say let's go. We'll be leaf-peepin'.
@musicfanatic So glad you get some movement and some outside time! I wish I were in Canada so I could come bring you Timmy's and distract you... maybe I will come up with an I Spy game you have to complete for us every week, taking pictures on the sly
That seems like a fun idea and a way to keep you distracted/entertained to help time go by some @musicfanatic .
Also I took up crocheting during my pregnancy with my son when I was on bed rest. I could only ever crochet blankets. Myself my uncles wife and my best friend were all pregnant, I made 3 blankets one for each baby and then never kept up with it after DS arrived. I have a ton of yarn, hooks and books for designs still, if I could give them to you I would gladly.

@Aillise- that's REALLY sweet of your to offer. @Firefly3911 actually sent me a package this past week that contained some yarn and a hook :x and I have been using YouTube to try and teach me. I haven't actually started yet, I'm still watching videos. But gonna pick it up this weekend and actually start. She sent me a beautiful purple yarn, it's gonna look so pretty.
I also sew and latch hook, so I've been doing some of that. I do latch hook the most. I'm almost done with my current project so need a new kit (thanks for reminding me!).
(Zoe Claire- born at 33.6 weeks- November 19, '14 - 5lbs 15oz)
I've always considered myself crafty/artistic. Mainly I draw. I was for a while drawing tattoo designs for a tattoo shop. I tried my hand a tattooing but it is a lot harder than it looks. So I didn't continue with that lol. (Thankfully my practice was on an artificial surfaces and DH thigh ( which was probably not a good area to pick being muscular and larger to pull skin taught properly). So now he has a tattoo, that not many see but, its quite funny. I should take a photo one night while he is sleeping and post it on here lol.
Aside from crocheting a little bit, I sew as well, and I used to do cross stitching ( my aunt did it while I grew up and she taught me, and bought me everything to start) it was fun, but I don't do it any more.
But my newest love has been scrap booking. I made all DS baby books, and made some as gifts for close friends. I haven't done it much the past few years, but am excited to start with LO. Do you scrapbook?
How are you feeling?: Tired and achey, but otherwise alright. My incision's killing me, for some reason. I'll ask the OB about it when I go in for my appointment
Appointments/Updates? Oct 10th for 24 week visit
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently?
Rants/Raves: People should not be coming to be griping about how depressed they are. I know that sounds horribly insensitive, and to a degree I will say that's fair. But if all you talk to me about is how insecure or depressed you are, shove off, I have other things to tend to other than being an emotional crutch for you literally every conversation we have.
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"?Uh. I don't.. know? Somewhere warm but not sweltering. I went to Florida once in December on a cruise. That was nice and pleasant. I wouldn't mind doing that again..
@MusicFanatic We really want to CD, but we have to wait until we move out of this apartment in May before we can. We currently don't have access to a washer and dryer, so we have to do all of our laundry at the laundromat. It would cost far too much to wash all of our cloth diapers there. So we'll do disposables until then.

We did think about CDing, but we decided against them for the exact reason as you @literarymuse. $2+ a load on top of normal laundry just doesn't make it worth them to me.
Yes! Exactly! And if you have to do rinse cycles before and after...we were going to end up spending at least an extra $18 a week just washing them, not even messing with the dryers. Cannot wait to have my own washer and dryer!!
How are you feeling? Pretty good but back ache and tired..not sleeping to well at night.
Appointments/Updates? Tomorrow is 3 hour glucose. Not looking forward to it and hoping I pass.
Have you bought/received anything for the baby recently? Topper for the dresser/changing table.
Rants/Raves: None really :-)
QOTW: What's your dream vacation? Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? I think we are going to take a trip to Key West in a few weeks. We live in the Miami area so it is not too far and good place for a quick get away.
Live like there is no tomorrow..Love like you have never been hurt...
I am an 8 minute walk from the heart of Boston. I have thought about moving closer to NH because of the difference in rental prices and having more land. But currently DH and I are both working in Boston, and DS is in school here as well. I would feel bad taking my son away from the friends he has had since kindergarten. Also I'm a city girl I've been here all my life I would probably be lost living so far from home and not being able to walk everywhere.
Update: After having a meeting with the mean woman from the rental office. I stopped in a baby/maternity boutique down the street to see what they had for baby girl clothes. Since I've been looking for a coming home outfit. I found one I liked and bought it, was a bit of a splurge so I am going to have to hide the receipt from DH lol.

@MusicFanatic I don't believe I've checked in more than a few times, most at the beginning. It's too much effort to type out on my phone and I forget by the time I get home to my computer!

23 weeks/Grapefruit

Is anyone going on a "babymoon"? Uh. I don't.. know? Somewhere warm but not sweltering. I went to Florida once in December on a cruise. That was nice and pleasant. I wouldn't mind doing that again..
@CrazyMonkeyBear
