Done lurking – Time to Intro (PG & LO mentioned)

Ok, I have been lurking for a while.  In actuality I was kind of hoping I never had to do an intro.  But, here I am.  DH and I have been trying to conceive on and off for around 4 years.  We have been married for 6 years, but like many other young married couples decided to wait for the “right time.”  During that wait, I found out I had stage 4 endometriosis, which many gynos before dismissed as normal period pain.  I have done 2 six month rounds of Lupron to help clear the endo in the last 3 years.  After the first round, the Dr. told us to just try.  When that didn’t work and the pain came back, I found a pelvic pain specialist.  She put me back on the Lupron for another six months.  We met with an RE towards the end of that cycle to come up with our plan.

After I finally (total of 9 months) got my cycle back, we were to do injectables and an IUI.  But, to our surprise we got pregnant in April.  That excitement didn’t last long as I miscarried around 8 weeks. 

I am now on my tenth day of gonal-f and am waiting to hear back from the RE about when to do our first IUI.  While I hope to not have to be here long, I have lurked here long enough to know that I want to support others going through this and have support through my journey as well.  I look forward to getting to know all of you! 

P.S. – I plan to update and figure out the whole siggy/picture thing when I get home from work.

Diagnosis: Stage 4 Endometriosis, Hashimoto's

Treatment: Lupron (3/2010 – 9/2010 & 7/2013 – 2/2014)

April 2013 - BFP – missed mc confirmed 5/08/2014. D&C 5/22/2014

Sept/Oct 2014: IUI #1 (Gonal F + HCG) = BFN

Oct/Nov 2014: Temporarily Benched due to multiple cysts on each ovary.

Nov 27: IUI #2 (Gonal F + HCG) = BFP

    Hi and welcome! I'm new too actually. I just wanted to say that I understand about the endo being dismissed as normal period pain. I had the same thing happened to me. I actually asked my old gyne (among other doctors) if endo was a possibility and he blew me off. Three years later, this past August, I had a lap to confirm that I did actually have endo. I know it's still so frustrating, but I just had to share our similar stories. I really hope your stay here is short too! Good luck with everything!

    Lap/Hysto to remove polyps, cyst and tube blockage 11/6

    Impatiently Waiting CD1 to try again with Fermara Back on the bench due to giant cyst,
    who know I'd ovulate on my own after a cancelled cycle and end up with a mega cyst :(

    Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss. Glad you were able to get treatment for your endo. I just had laparoscopic surgery to deal with suspected endo and it gave me 2 almost painless periods so far. Makes me so mad that for all those years nobody ever told me that something could be done about the pain!!

    Started RE Testing July 2014

    2 HSG tests: Right tube is blocked, possible endo.

    TSH elevated, started Synthroid 25 mg daily.

    October, 2014: Femara 5 mg + TI ---> 3 follies on blocked tube side ---> BFN

    November, 2014: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI#1--2 follies (on the good side), 46 mil. motile sperm=BFN

    Nov-Dec 2014: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI #2 (1 follie, 76 mil. motile sperm) + Endometrin=BFN

    January, 2014: Femara + Ovidrel + IUI #3 (1 follie, 38 mil. motile sperm)=???

    New RE appt. scheduled for 1/14.

    7/11- D&C and benched for a year 
    9/12-4/13-6 rounds of 50 mg Clomid- no sucess 
    6/13- new doc
    7/13-4/14- 6 more rounds of Clomid. 50 mg and then stepped up to 100mg- no success 
    5/14-7/14- took break waiting for new insurance 
    7/14-new insurance= new doc- actually a RE!!!! 
    7/14-HSG and blood test good-PCOS confirmed by new doc 
    10/14 looking forward to 1st IUI w/ Menopur. Blood Test= Negative
