Our board is getting pretty quiet...so I will throw this out there:
What's New?
We are ALL up in potty training. LO love's to go PP but not #2 on the potty.
Driving in the car with LO is becoming interesting. We recently turned his car seat around facing forward....that gives him a WHOLE NEW WORLD and variety of questions. "look mom, a bike. mom...a bird...can you get it? " ETC.
Learning how to parent again. I had forgotten how easily it is to giggle at LO back talk and find his little voice.....and how i need to teach him respect. I had forgotten my job to parent. Which is a daily struggle for me. I just want to spoil and love on him with his cute little demanding voice...its hard to remember I am the ADULT.
So...what about you? Tell me everything or anything new.
Re: So what's NEW?
Let's see... New way of playing I suppose. DS is very into imaginative play right now. He's less interested in building with blocks or coloring and more into acting out scenarios. Usually when he's playing with me they involve a mommy toy and a baby toy who are so happy to be reunited and go home.
Also new, is I can't call him a baby anymore. He always corrects me now: "No Mama, I a big boy!" Even when he's like crying and upset, haha.
new words " WAIT !!!" "two eyes"
He shouts wait wait if you walk out of a room lol.. it's funny. and two eyes is his name for Ninjago.. I guess you can pretty much only see their eyes with the hood on so I am assuming that is why??
I've been busy with projects, spring cleaning .. well over due spring cleaning, spending time with the lil man and a lot of time sitting on the edge of the bath.. asking.. are you gonna pee.. LOL
There has been a huge change in my lil guys social self.. less tantrums and timeouts...
all in all life is good, hubby is passing all his academy exams so far, munchkin is awesome and mommy is a lot less stressed...
I get you on the parenting thing.. sometimes we don't realize the flip side to our methods till we have to fix em haha .. but that's part of the learning curve for all of us.
Had DS on 6/5/14 and DD has adjusted beautifully.
She's really interested in letters and how they go together to make words. It's so fun watching her discover new things.
Also, kinetic sand is totally worth it. Keeps her busy for an hour!
Best wishes to your expanded family and soon to be shrinking waistline Good job Mama
I'm not going to lie the first couple days have been hard. Harvest has started here so my dh is gone well into the night. DD had a hard time with me being in the hospital for 2 days. (I had an even harder time being away from her.) However she is starting to understand her brother is staying, and is getting used to him. She does love him, and hates it when he cries.
She is such a big girl, and so independent. She's a dink and only weighs 23 lbs. but fears nothing. She is obsessed right now with being involved with harvest whether it be in the combine, tractor, or semi. Also she has a pony that she is beyond in love with.
We're still potty training here. She's better with #2 than #1 but getting better with that. At least I rarely have to change a poopy diaper now. Talking up a storm and people besides me are starting to understand her. Tantrums have settled a little bit with a little more understanding. Which I knew would happen...but hard to deal with in the moment, kwim? Naps are hit or miss but we are working on quiet time. She was getting better at that but then spend 4 days at Grandma's so now we are training again. *sigh*
As far as non-kid stuff: The Etsy shop slowed for the summer but is picking back up again for Christmas. Pretty common. I'm spending a lot of my time on my blog. I'm trying to use it to make money as well. Everything is going up (don't even talk to me about health ins) and DH's employer is refusing to give anyone a raise. So we have to make up the difference somewhere.
Just got finished our last weekend of lumberjack competitions until next summer and boy was it a weekend! My shop FB page status yesterday was: 5 days, 1 kid-free weekend, 4 competitions, 800 miles, 30 hours of sleep, two 85 degree days, 2 showers, 1 dead truck battery, and 47 hours of competing....and we're finally home.
The 85 degrees days are un-heard of here this time of year. We had a hard freeze the week before (27 over night) and average out in the 50s/60s during the day. We were all sweating to death.
