Chemical Pregnancy

Hi ladies. I am in the middle of a chemical pregnancy, and just wondering if I would consider today Day 1 of my cycle for charting purposes? My DH and I want to try again immediately, but I'm not sure if this bleeding is considered my period or not..

I don't know how it works for chemical pregnancy but for my d&c, that procedure ended up being CD1for me. In my uneducated mind I would think it would be similar for CP but I don't know. Sorry for your loss

I had a chemical pregnancy in March and I considered the first day of bleeding CD 1. The period was almost just like a normal one....mine was just slightly less heavy, but was longer (about 8 days)....I believe that month I ovulated a couple days later than normal - CD 21 instead of CD 19 I think.

I'm so sorry for your loss!

I too counted day 1 of bleeding as cycle day 1. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm wondering though, did your doctor give you the green light to try again without waiting a full cycle? I waited only one cycle after a D&C I had, and the pregnancy ended in miscarriage POSSIBLY because my lining wasn't strong enough yet to support another. They also suggest you wait at least one cycle because if you got pregnant again, determining timelines without having a CD1 from your period (vs m/c bleeding) can be problematic.
Not trying to be your OB here but you might want to double-check with him or her. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone for your responses. I think I will count the first day of my bleeding as cycle day 1. @lauraneedscoffee My OB did say that we could go ahead and try again next cycle. She didn't seem to think it would be an issue with my lining. But I appreciate you double checking. :)

I'm in the middle of a chemical pregnancy loss. I was advised by my dr that I need to wait one cycle before trying again. I started bleeding on Monday and considered that CD 1 of bleeding. I see the dr in 4 weeks to be checked that everything expelled correctly and then after that, I have to wait until I get my normal cycle before I can try again. Sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you're going through.
