I decided to ride along with dh yesterday to check on the cows. We have a new lil steer (male) calf! Guessing he's somewhere 1-2hrs old in this pic

Yay! So cute! We have cows as well and have found myself thinking lately if only getting the calf nursing was as easy for humans. DH still doesn't understand what could be so hard about it when he sees how's easy the cows and calves get it… :-w

I hate to admit it (as a born & raised Angus girl) but Hereford calves are just about the cutest thing ever. We have a little Hereford heifer calf that is too cute for words and probably the best calf in the bunch as of now. Gotta love calving season!!!

I realized after I posted it's bull-calf. He's banded, so he will be a steer.

We have a mix. We have the red Herefords, some pure Angus (usually the Bulls), and the white-faced black (I dunno their name? I'm a bad farm wife shhhhh)

Black baldy :-bd I'm slowly getting H to convert to mostly Angus and cull out the clubby cows over time. We'd rather focus on maternal traits and raising females. Then just buying steers to resell for show calves. But overall we have a mixed herd of Angus, SimAngus, Simmental, couple Maine/Maintainers, 1 Hereford, and handful of clubby/cross cows.
