So, I'm curious....

I'm tall, and I love it except my dear husband is shorter than I am. There's nothing wrong with being shorter than your SO, its just an annoyance of mine.

    Oh, specifically, I'm 5' 11".

  • 5' 10". I hated it in high school - I always felt so awkward - but now I think there are definite advantages. Life has also gotten easier since mainstream stores started carrying tall and long sizes, buying pants to wear with heels used to be a real pain in the ass.

  • I'm 5'5''.... pretty average. I don't mind it because most clothes are made to fit someone about my height so I don't have to have a lot of things altered. Besides designer jeans, which are clearly only made for giraffes.

  • I'm 5'11''. I love being tall but it was absolutely awful when I was younger and they didn't make pants in long yet. @Cythe, @LDW176‌, and @mandy522‌ - Not sure if you know this but Gap and Old Navy sell everything in tall online including shirts and sweaters - I rarely buy anything elsewhere because the longer sleeves are amazing!

And I also buy lots of clothes at Gap @lindsayloo1212 because pulling long sleeves over your hands is the most awesome thing in the fall and winter.

  • I am 5'6" and like that height. I am not so short or tall that I cannot find clothes. The hard part is that since I am "average" all average clothes are gone quickly.  H is a couple of inches taller than me so I can still wear heels and be the same height or where flats and not seem to short.

  • I'm 5'9" and hubs is 5'10" ....so I can't wear heels :(

(Haven't finished reading yet) this is no reason to not wear heels.

5'7". Same height as hubs. I love heels. I just tell him supermodels are taller than him. ;)
  • I'm 5'3" and the only thing I dislike about my height is that my 7 year old is creeping past my shoulders.  It won't be too long before he's taller than me :-(  Otherwise, my height isn't all that bad.  Being short isn't a bad thing IMO

  • @mechedes oh no a size 3?  I'm a size 4, where do you mostly find your heels? I found some places on line have my size and Nordstroms, but online only.
  • I know!! Ridiculously tiny! My flats I get at the little girl's section. For heels I go to www.petite.shoes , but even there they don't have much of a selection..

I love getting my Nike free runs for cheap though.. That's when I can find grown up looking ones with out Velcro.. Ugh .. FML!!!!

I'm 5'5" and DH is 6'5" but I'm pretty small otherwise and normally wear children's shoes as well. I buy heels from Kohls online. DH's niece is 9 and is taller than I am and wears larger shoes. Most of my girl friends are between 5'9 and 6'1. It's a big Dutch farm community.
  • @mechedes I know it's so hard to find shoes without velcro or disney characters on them, but I do like the cheaper prices.
  • Oh god, don't even get me started on shoes.

  • I'm 5'7" but hubby is 5'11" and refuses to go out w/ me if I wear heels. That's my only bitch ;)

Ugh ... Shoe size :( I used to be a 10 and that was easy-ish to find decent shoes. Now I'm an 11, which means I have to shop at the same stores as cross dressers, if I need heels :(
  • Teeeeeeeechnically, I think I'm 5'6.75", but I always say 5'7" because easier.  The husband is 5'10-11", so it works out.  I take a ridiculous amount of pleasure being his height or higher when I wear heels, though.

  • My husband is 6'3", I'm 5' 2.5"... I love it!  He is the tallest man I've ever been with- he helps reach all kinds of things!
  • I'm 5'2" & 3/4. I usually round up to 5'3". I don't mind being short most of the time. Except at the movies, or a concert. Clothes shopping also sucks my ass, being a plus-sized munchkin is no bueno. My hubs is 6'4", so he can reach all the high up stuff & I have no limit on my heel height.

I'm 6'2" and I love being this tall now.  I hated it when I was younger because I quit growing at 12 so I was pretty much a freak in school.  Finding clothes can sometimes be a pain in the ass, put sometimes I just rock "regular" length pants as capris.  And I have mastered the look of the 3/4 length sleeve as well as rolling button ups pretty.
I also wear 4" heels almost every day and give no fucks that I intimidate almost everyone in them.
This made me laugh. I do the exact opposite. 3/4 length sleeves are almost always long sleeves for me & I wear capris as regular pants all the time.

The only thing I hate is being short and overweight. Makes finding pants extra tough.
