What to make of this?

I had a follow up consult with local RE after my initial consult a few weeks ago. He called about my antithyroid antibody test. I guess it was 'really high' and said I have hashimotos. My first RE had put me on 25mcg of Levo for a borderline tsh (4) about three years ago. With that, it remains at 2.5ish. Nothing has really been said about it. Anyone have experience with this? Any thoughts on what this could mean? Do I have to look more into other autoimmune issues? He also said there was a slight thickening on one side of my uterine wall which could be adenomyosis, which could indicate endo and he wants to schedule a lap and hysteroscopy with my next cycle (which begins in 3 days. Eeek! I'm REALLY afraid of a lap). Just as an aside, I feel like I am starting again at square one and am getting really depressed at starting this whole journey over. I don't think I have the strength to do it:-(

Oh hun!! Sorry about the news and that your feeling defeated right now. I wish I had advice about all those issues but I know not much about them. Just wanted to say you are strong and have come so far in this and you can keep going!!

I don't have any advice for the prognosis but know you aren't alone in your frustrations . I hope you find the strength to give it this shot and I hope this shot is all you need!

I personally do not have any expereince, but over the years I have seen many women get pregnant that have the diagnosis of hashimotos. I do think it's a good idea to get a RI consult.  Good luck!!

I'm so sorry. Its always something! If you want my honest opinion, yes I would absolutely look into immune issues. At least make the appt since the wait can be long; you can always cancel if you change your mind.

I totally understand what you mean by starting over again. I understand about not knowing if you have the strength anymore. I'm so very sorry you are just getting this info now.

I'm so sorry you're feeling frustrated I can definitely relate to the feeling of getting sent back to square one... It's like, haven't we been at this long enough?! Is it ever going to be 'my turn??' Sigh.

As far as the immune stuff, I agree with @Km672‌ - make the appointment and then you can always cancel later if you change your mind. That's what I did back in April after my transfer failed, and then I spent the next four months waiting for the appt. I'm so glad I kept it because it seems like we have some room for improvement in the immune department.

As far as the hysteroscopy and lap goes, yeah, they aren't exactly fun. I had them both done last summer. It wasn't too horrible, but like I said, not fun. I'm glad we did it though because we found endo (mild, but my doc cleared it out and my periods haven't been as painful) and had a partial septoplasty to correct my arcuate uterus.

Since people with one immune issue are more likely to have others, I think it's worth an appointment. I'm really happy that we saw the RI, we found issues that no other doc had looked into (decreased blood flow to my uterus) and got some more info on some known issues (NK cells). I really pulled out the stops as far as testing went for this cycle, I feel like the more we know the better.

Thanks everyone. CNN someone fill me in on my options for RI? I know of dr.kk and that's only 4 or so hours away. And I be heard the Beer Center mentioned as well. I think someone has said that the a Beer center doesn't take insurance but Kk does? I doubt mine covers anything anyway. And I think I've heard that Beer Center will order testing remotely so you don't actually have to go there? If so, anyone know what types of tests they would run and a cost estimate without insurance?

Kk is a ob gyn and will code things as immune issues rather than infertility. All my testing and office visit was covered with a copay. I did have to pay $250 for a plan write up and something else but that's it so far. You have to go to KK office for the first visit and then you can be treated remotely.

Beer doesn't take insurance. I'm not sure what it costs to get everything run there. You could call and I'm sure they could give you a ballpark cost.

There is also Braver.man in ny but I hear mixed reviews and I think he requires you do your ivf with him as well.

Laps are no fun but it may give you some answers. Good luck!!

Dr. KK does take insurance and most of my testing has been covered so far. I did have all of my blood work initially denied, but that was because it was submitted with only an infertility diagnosis code (I have no infertility coverage), 95% of the blood work that has been resubmitted has been covered. I am still waiting on my quest blood work to be resubmitted, which has taken several phone calls and emails. Dr. KK's staff is super nice, but the financial person is hard to get a hold of. My only advice is to be persistant.

Yes, both t3 and t4 were normal

If you have crappy health insurance or no coverage then there is no point not going with Beer. Also I like that I don't ever have to go to them.
With anti thyroid antibodies I would say you def need an RI consult.
