So basically I'm here for about 3-4 months just lurking until I'm actually able to TTC. My hormone levels are still at 1500. It's been over a month since my miscarriage. Before TTC we have to wait for my hormone levels to hit zero and 2 period cycle says my doctor. I asked if it was normal for my hormone levels to be dropping so lightly and my nurse just replied "that's why we're going to continue doing blood tests every week until you hit 0 to make sure things are okay" so we'll see. Hope 0 comes soon. Until further notice, I'll be here off and on before "actually" TTC.

Re: loss mentioned

  • Welcome.

It can take a while for your levels to drop, especially if they were pretty high to start with. Good luck.

  • Sorry for your loss. Hope your levels drop soon.

  • Did you have an ultrasound to make sure there is no retained tissue?  If so, yes it can take some time for levels to drop.  If not, I would ask for one.

  • Agree with @tlc35‌, I'd ask for an ultrasound just to confirm there is no retained tissue. Did you have a D&C? For what it's worth, after my last loss I had 2 D&C's & had to have weekly blood draws after -- it took just over 2 months to get down to 0.

  • I had an ultrasound after all of the cramps and bleeding and there was nothing left. I did not have a D&C. I was going too, but everything happened on it's own.
  • I'm very sorry for your loss. Your HCG levels can take a long time to get to zero. It sounds like your office is on top of monitoring it. Good luck.

  • I'm sorry for your loss. I am just over 6 weeks post loss and my levels were 1700 at 5 weeks post. I had a thickened uterus lining that took it's sweet time shedding, hence why they were so slow to drop. They are starting to pick up now, but it's been an excruciatingly slow process, that's for sure. I have weekly blood draws as well.
