Today is my one year anniversary. We've been together for =D> 9 years. This time last year, J was 3 months and I was totally stoked for marriage and baby all at once. Were going to Hawaii in 2 weeks. I want to get my h something but cant think of anything. We both agreed on nothing bcause of the trip but i want to get something. Maybe ill cook dinner, and put on some lingerie. Now to find lingerie, no comfy t-shirts tonight.
I LOVE this song! I taught my high school girls music class in Tanzania to sing this a Capella. (Changed it to "girl in the mirror"). Talk about your head and heart exploding emotion moment for me when they performed it!
@candynicole26 since it's your first one you can start something sentimental that doesn't cost money. We keep a cork from a bottle of wine or champagne that we have on our anniversary and write the year and location on the top. We're planning on making some art with the corks once we have enough.
It's days like today I wish I either had a garage or my hubby home! It's raining so bad that's roads are flooding and I had to get two kids into the car and when I get home have to get one back out in this weather. I'm drenched and miserable and it's only 9am
It's going to be a lovely day. Grayson's fever is up. He's either sitting in the chair with me or walking around whining. Bubble Guppies is already on. Oh, and my mom got laid off this morning. At least they called to tell her before she left to drive an hour into the office.
We gave DD markers yesterday, which she loved. Any tips on how to keep them out of her mouth? She looked like the joker.
Duck tape her mouth shut? In all seriousness they should make crayons and markers taste bad. Like awful, vinegar or something. You'd think they would have thought of that by now.
Why do we call Kate "Kate Middleton" even though she is married now? Didn't we always call Diana "Princess Diana" ?
Maybe it's because Princess Diana wasn't a commoner and Kate was so people feel more connected to her and thus like they can use her maiden name more casually? Princess Diana was technically a princess and Kate is a Duchess, at least right now. Also, I think when Princess Diana divorced she was given the title "princess" to keep so it was her official title. (I MAY have just watched a documentary on the Spencers on Netflix.)
^^That's just my theory though, which I made up just now. My other theory would involve the social media of today.
Diana was a commoner too, technically, I believe. She had the title Princess because she married THE heir to the throne.
Diana was from a noble family. She was Lady Diana Spencer before she got married. Her brother is an earl.
@kdc2007 - that's too cute! I walked into daycare for pickup the other day to find LO using the push vacuum helping the ladies clean up for the day. It was entirely too cute.
I hope our LO's never grow out of this helpful cleaning phase! It helps make up ever so slightly for the giant entropy-machines they otherwise are!
Amelia has HFM my husband got her from daycare and is home with her today. I'm going to see if my mom can come up and help us out for the next few days. H can't miss too much work and I hate to be out so much so soon into a new job and the start of the school year. This sucks
What's your daycare's policy on it? Once they have it, they're actually over the infectious stage but most doctors and daycares like the fever to be gone.
I thought Neil Patrick Harris and his dude were already married. Huh. Odd.
I made the mistake of reading the comments in a HuffPo facebook post about the wedding, and holy shit are homophobes weird. There were (allegedly) straight men talking about ALLLLLL the gay sex those two married dudes must be having. It's almost like they think it's going to happen to them. I should stop reading comments to anything.
Ravens released Ray Rice today.
I'm actually even more afraid for his wife's safety than before.
Me too. There's some serious dysfunction going on there. He gave her that pounding BEFORE they were married, and she still married him. It didn't look like it was the first time, and I bet it hasn't been the last either. I can't even imagine the amount of hurt and damage going on when you marry a man who knocks you unconscious. POLL TIME.
If not for the backlash, he would have gotten the same 2-day suspension they give other abusers. Let's hope the NFL starts changing its policies.
I really want to know when the NFL first saw the elevator tape.
According to a former employee of the hotel, a team rep saw it at the same time the police did. They've known about this for a while.
Meanwhile, they suspended a player for an entire season for smoking pot. Knocking a woman unconscious? 2 game suspension. Until the public finds out, and then they act like it's something serious.
Holy heck I have been really out of the loop on sports news so I hadn't seen or heard any of this before. I just watched the video and I'm shaking I'm so angry. I have grown more and more disgusted with football in general over the last few years and this may be the last straw. All I can think now is this is one example actually caught on tape and there are probably many more examples of this when football is so based on violence. Not to mention the performance enhancers that they are supposedly enforcing.
My eyelid has been twitching on and off for a few weeks. It's driving me nuts. Does anybody have any tips to get rid of it? I don't think I'm tired but maybe I am???

That can be caused by fatigue, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance. Try getting some more rest, drinking lots of water, and maybe eat a banana?
That ray rice video is crazy. It's bad enough that he assaulted her but the way he handled her when she was unconscious was terrible. He just kind of dragged her around, dropping her back down at certain points. I believe that they got married only a month after the attack. She should have dropped him like a hot potato but I do realize that there is battered woman syndrome so who knows what she was thinking.
I think I told you guys that a couple weeks ago we realized a little boy from A's preschool lives next door to us (we are, apparently, not very social -us or that family because they've lived there since November lol). The little boy came over yesterday and his mom told me that he asked "Did you cut the hole in the fence to Aiden's yard yet?" He also keeps putting on his shoes and when his mom asks where he's going, he casually mentions coming to our house. She said she fears she's going to take a shower one day and come out to a text from me that he is at our house lol He also, apparently, told his parents that DH and I are building him a bed at our house because "I'm going to sleep over there all the time." When I told him it was time to go home last night he said "Yeah, I'm not ready to leave. I'm going to eat dinner here."
Ok so a question. I posted a while back that I think I'm going to do a joint petting zoo bday party for the boys in the spring. But then I got thinking: will people feel obligated to bring a gift for each of them? Obviously our close family friends and our family would be doing that anyway but Aiden's friends wouldn't normally be invited to Q's party and vice versa. I know it seems rude to address gifts with people but let's be serious - people bring gifts to parties so my options are: Make one invite with both their names and say nothing to people, make the one invite but as people RSVP let them know as tactfully as possible that they shouldn't bring a gift for the "other kid," or make two different invites for each boy (my concern with this is people feeling blindsided...? I don't know. I have time on this but thought I'd poll my Bs
@Michelin82 I guess I thinking more that they might be upset that they brought their 2 year old to an event that has a large group of 5 year olds as well. Do you guys think that would bother you if your toddler was doing a petting zoo with a bunch of older kids?

Ok rant over!

Every time I see the 'What Size are We Wearing Now?' poll, my first thought is 'I'm not telling you what size I wear!'
Needless to say, I'm a little self-conscious about my weight right now.
