nipple blister

I know. Eeeewwww. But what do I do? To pop or not to pop?

It doesn't look like it has milk in it. Looks clear or yellowish maybe with a little blood at one edge. As I said, eeewww.

DD will be 4 months in a week and has been nursing like crazy - like almost all night Friday night. Don't know if it's a growth spurt or because I just started back to work (first full week was last week) so she's nursing extra when we're together and/or my supply might have tanked due to stress (of course thinking that stresses me more - vicious cycle!).

Re: nipple blister

  • I had one when dd was about 6 weeks old. My doctor said not to pop it and it will go away on its own. He suggested, if possible to just feed from the non blistered side and pump from the blistered one. Hope it gets better soon!

  • Keep nursing. I have gotten two over the last month. My doctor said to leave it alone and it will pop on it's own.

  • Kellymom has some suggestions too. Sorry, I'm mobile and too lazy to link right now! I had one a while back and it eventually got sucked out while nursing.
