TTC After a Loss

****Healthy Living Accountability****

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!
So, let's hear it... what worked well this week for you? What didn't? If you're new, jump on in - we'd love to have you on this journey with us!
    @mrsg80intn Thanks for the ck in!
    I am loving this Fit Bit Flex! It's so fun to ck on the stats throughout the day! And I've been keeping track of every single calorie that I'm eating/drinking. And its totally motivated me to walk the pups at night rather than DH doing in! I do need to work on increasing my water intake though.
    I hope everyone has a good weekend!
    So excited that you are loving the FB Flex!  It really helped motivate me as well... I now get up earlier to walk my dogs and walk them at night too.  I get mad when I don't hit my goals...
  • Hey sorry I think I missed a check in or 2. I have been pretty goo about getting to the gym and have dropped a few lbs. This weekend with the holiday I will probably eat a little bit "unhealthy" but hopefully back on track next week!
  • Hey everyone.  Hope you all are having a good day.
    Well this week for me went very well food wise but it derailed yesterday when some drama came to town and I ate for comfort.
    But, I guess that doesn't matter much anyway because I now have food poisoning and...well...I do not believe the comfort food stuck with me.
    But yeah, the rest of the week was good and I'm looking forward to having another week like it. Food planning went well.  I bought a bunch of avocados and had one with lunch every day.  That helped a lot of hunger.  I also snacked on grapes and carrots when I absolutely needed to snack.
    image
    And I've started to turn to smoked salmon as a comfort food.  It gets pricey, but if I view it as a treat, which it is, then it is is worth it.
    Today's food, however, is bland stuff to settle my stomach.  Since I can't have gluten or soy in my diet I turned to a paleo type way of eating, though a bit more relaxed, a few years ago.  I don't usually like getting processed gluten free foods since most foods in their natural form are gluten free anyway.  But what they aren't is bland.  So today I have turned to processed gluten free bland food.  Boo.
    Good for you Ladies for having healthy goals and taking care of yourselves!! I plan to lurk here for a while for inspiration. Just suffered my second miscarriage and I've been disassociating from my body, feeling like its a dangerous place vs a sacred one... I will grow out of this feeling and I think lurking here is a good place to start.
    Congrats on your progress and I'm sending you all love!!!!!
  • @lauraneedscoffee - I'm so sorry for your losses.  I suffered my third in June and I know what you mean about disassociating.  We're here for you if you need anything.  Definitely feel free to lurk, but you can also post... sometimes it helps to just get your feelings out to understanding people.  Feel free to PM if you want to chat.
  • @MrsG80inTN Thank you for the check-in! I hope all is well with you!
    @Nieko0423 I am in your boat this week. I did not do well at all this week. Here's hoping next week will be better for us!
    @furrypaws I have been really seriously been thinking about getting a fitbit. You said you have a flex, what does that do? My sister has the bracelet one and my dad has the pedometer one.
    @mpiemont Good for you for going to the gym and YAY for losing lbs!
    @Menrandes Yummy avocados!! I'm sorry about the food poisoning, I hope you feel better soon. I saw you post on FGF, you are lucky to have such an attentive DH!
    @lauraneedscoffee I'm sorry for your loss. I have found this strand to be very inspiring, I hope you join us soon, as I have found the more exercising I do the better I feel. But until then, take care of yourself. There is nothing wrong with how you're feeling. (HUGS)
    AFM: I used the C25K app twice this week, it was rough. I have not been good about what I'm eating this week, but I really plan on stepping it up next week. Does it count that I sweated a lot in my non A/C classroom the last two days???
    image <----- This is so not what I was going for when I searched for a gif, but it made me smile so I hope it makes you smile, too!
  • Hi ladies!
    This week I am amazed that I stayed as on point as I did. Today is going to be just too hard to log because it was the last day of inservice and thus potluck. However I stuck to the salads that people brought so I am proud of myself for that. I also only ate one little cookie. I really like MFP because it's like having a cheering section all for you (elliecat17 lost x lbs. that's a total of x lbs). lol I also walked all over the place this week, and always took the stairs. Sadly I didn't get in all the exercise that I had set as my goal. Good luck ladies!
    @Nieko0423 Try 3-2-1 cake: https://www.food.com/recipe/3-2-1-cake-455416 It's tasty, it's easy, it meets cravings, oh and it's low in calories.
  • Hi ladies, sorry for a delayed response and a post'n'run...
    I did fairly well this week with eating and working out, but missed my run yesterday morning.
    @furrypaws PM me your email address for your fitbit, I'll friend you!
  • I've been having a good week food wise and getting the hang of MFP. I like the app for my phone a lot. It is easy to track general foods and I just need to add in my recipes. I did get AF this week and with that, migraines, so I didn't start C25k like I wanted so I put that on tap for next week. I think that will really help my body. I get a good workout in with the dogs I work with, especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I think my body is pretty used to it.
    I'm working on lowering my sugar intake. I eat a lot of fruit so it adds up so I've been packing cut up veggies for one of my daily snacks instead of two fruits. I have had less cravings overall this week but still my nightly skinny cow ice cream reward. Yesterday, my client bought me a cupcake from a FABULOUS bakery.... and i turned it down!!!!!! Proud moment right there.
    Running with migraines is no good... good call on postponing C25K!  Way to go on turning down that cupcake though - with AF showing that shows you're rocking it with your resolve.
  • @stinybean – C25K is rough… I always get through like week 1 or 2 and quit.
    @readinglove – Way to go on turning down doughnuts.
    @elliecat17 – Stairs and I do not get along all the time.  Way to go!
    @Nieko0423 – for me it is having healthy snacks within reach and keeping the bad snacks out of the house… Sometimes it’s just recognizing what it is and having a little bit of chocolate and putting it down.
    @furrypaws – I can’t remember if you are on MFP, but your fitbit will also synch with MFP and tell you how much more you can eat. It’s pretty cool.
    @MrsKush1014 – Sorry you missed your run yesterday, but glad you had a fairly good week.
