Hello and thanks in advance for any advice/insight anyone can provide. I weaned my daughter at one year old, so 9 months ago. I have had continuous pain on the underside of my right breast since weaning. It feels like a bruise/ache, and sometimes it is a shooting pain - almost like a burning sensation. The pain feels almost like a clogged duct, but there is no lump and I can't express anything. Does anyone have experience with this?
I finally went to my OB for a breast exam yesterday. She asked about increased caffeine intake - I have one cup of coffee per day and no soda, so no change there. Doc didn't feel anything unusual but scheduled me for a mammogram this Thursday. I'm 36 years old, in case that matters.
just a shot in the dark, here, but- could it possibly be thrush? shooting pains are a symptom. it can take months for your milk to completely dry up, so i wonder if something could still be lingering in there?
