AW: One year ago today...

...I woke up and peed on a stick that I thought had no hope of being positive. It was my first round on Clomid after 2 early losses, lots of poking and prodding, and a hysteroscopy just the month before. AF was due that day and I knew I should probably wait a few more days to avoid disappointment. But I needed something happy to happen on August 24th. It's the anniversary of my Grandma's passing. She was a tremendous influence in my life and one of my best friends. Her loss affects me so deeply, and I still cry for her.

It's been 3 years since her passing so today I remember her loss, but I also celebrate the day I learned of a new life coming: this precious little creature who has been entrusted into my care. My heart is so heavy, but also so full. It's a truly overwhelming feeling. So I am here, enjoying some snuggles and telling my daughter all about her Great-Grandma who would have been absolutely crazy over her.
