Over Excited BFF

So I woke up this morning with a bazillion texts from my best friend asking about finding out gender, and baby shower, and stuff I don't want to get overly excited or start planning for right now. She kept telling me that I need to get excited like she is and I basically had to go off on her via text to let her know she doesn't understand and I can't stay excited. I am excited but its hard to stay excited all the time right now. I don't want to plan big things in the future because I don't know what the future is going to bring.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. People who've never been PGAL have a hard time understanding why we would be hesitant to get too excited too early. Just try to remember your friend has her heart in the right place! And on the opposite end of the spectrum, it can also be hurtful if the people in your life don't get excited for you because perhaps they just expect the worst. It's a fine line. Hang in there, OP! I agree, people who are not PGaL do not understand. I had so many people telling me the same. It took me a long time to get truly excited (today! after my anatomy scan!) and NOW I feel like I can talk about it. Hang in there!

Thanks ladies. She's never been pregnant so she doesn't know what it's like. My step-mom wants to go ahead and schedule a 3D ultrasound to get gender at 15 weeks and that's okay but I'm still unsure about planning parties and stuff. I'm probably gonna wait 2 more weeks so I'm out of first tri before going public on social media.

I didn't go public on social media until I was about 24 weeks. Don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you aren't ready to do. Take your time if that's what you need, but on the other hand, if you feel ready to share in 2 weeks then go for it. Best of luck to you!

I'm out to pretty much everyone right now because people can't keep secrets just not publicly to the world. I don't know if that makes any sense but it does to me lol.
