constipation

I sure this has been talked about before, But it's slow around
here so I decided to start a new post. We gave lo sweet potatoes last night and this morning she was super fussy and you could tell she was trying to poop. Well when she did poop, it was basically like a mini sweet potato. Super hard, poor baby. So I went out and got plums and made those for her. I wasn't planning on doing those today but wanted something to help her hiney.

What is your go to thing to make pooping easier?

Any of the "p" fruits. (Prunes, peaches, pears...) DD loves prunes! So she gets those once or twice a week to keep things moving. The pooping process is hard to balance these days with all the new foods.

Blueberries always made DS poop pretty quickly.

@NenaMarie84‌ I am going to make peaches tonight. So those will be on the menu this week.

pureed prunes are #1 for us. Works every time. Pears and peaches do a so so job.

    Pears.

I also mix anything that might be binding with a little bit of apple prune juice.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. DD had the worse constipation these past few weeks. We gave her prune juice and water. Keeping them hydrated helps with constipation.

Thanks ladies! The plums seemed to work. She had one hard poop this morning then shortly after had a massive blow out. It was soft poop. Of course happened when I had her at the drs with me. Huge mess!

My almost 2 year old is constipated. Idk what to do. We've tried pear juice, prune juice, water, mandarin oranges, blueberries, and now she's eating prunes. Idk what else to do.

My DS often gets constipated so I know the pain. We have always given him fiber gummies and yogurt, and lots of water. Fruit trick doesn't really seem to work on him for some reason.

My mom said to try yogurt, but we think it is the dairy making her constipated. I talked to the pharmacist that I like today and she said if the prunes don't work (which they haven't yet) then to try a suppository. If that doesn't work I'm to call her doctor on Monday. Poor thing is in so much pain from a rash on her bum she calls it a scratch and asks for diaper cream. Wish this would've happened during the week when her doc is available.

DS has always had problems with that. I had to take him to a GI specialist and they told me to give him a 1/4 teaspoon of miralax in his bottles until he poops.
