next phase.. screaming

At least I hope this is a phase.  We are finally past head butting the floor when we are mad, biting when upset, and hopefully done with hitting.  Now we are on to screaming... not tantrum kicking and screaming.  No... no we are just screaming/squealing when people are in his airspace and he didn't want you there and if you look at, breath on, or touch something he is playing with or thinking of playing with.   This is a high pitched ear piercing scream.

Anyone else on this phase?  Or am I the only one.

Re: next phase.. screaming

  • Oh yes. We are into the screaming -- and the tantrums (for no apparent reason, often), right now.  If I LOOK at him when he doesn't want to be looked at (God forbid I should pick him up when he's in a mood), he flips the fuck out and screams and cries.  It's charming.

And then flips the switch and goes back to being adorable baby.  Very weird.  Jekyl/Hyde.

  • Oh and the other recent development is that he doesn't want to snuggle with me anymore. :-(. We used to have snuggle time every morning and night after his sippies of milk and now he screams until I let him loose to run around. In the past few days he's also started showing a STRONG preference towards dh over me, which is half relief / half heartbeaking... But I suppose is good in the sense that I'll be fairly occupied with new baby :-(

  • Aww yes the mood swings.  I compare him to the sour patch kid commercials. One minute he wants you to leave the house and the next he is giving you kisses.  We also have the freaking out if you try to pick him up or redirect him and he doesn't want to.   He doesn't lay down and throw a tantrum he just starts screaming as if you are trying to skin him alive.  As soon as you back away he goes right back to being happy go lucky.

He hasn't wanted to snuggle for quite some time, just too much to do and too many toys to try and destroy.  What is up with that my gosh we cant just sit and play we have to test every toys durability. And God forbid the toy not do what he thinks it should that puppy will sail through the air and he will let out the loudest squeal.  He has a Little Tykes work bench and it rarely sits upright, nope that just won't do in his world.  It must be laying flat so he can sit in the cubby hole.

Do any of your babies rearrange their rooms?   My goodness, this boy likes to move stuff around.   Presently he has moved his Dusty airplane and his car into his room and his workbench out.  He tried to get the computer chair in his room but it wouldn't go through the doorway.... ohh yes this set him off.

He is a good boy but I will be glad when the squealing/yelling/fit throwing ends.   ;)

  • No screaming but LOL @capstone52501‌ with the constant rearranging! Warner's new toddler-isms include climbing into the dishwasher, taking random household objects on walks (iPad cover, dishwasher basket stuffed with random toys and a hairbrush, etc etc), and hiding everything in our washing machine.imageimageimage

  • Thank the heavens above we have not started pooping in the tub.  I can only hope that he never does but since this isn't my first rodeo, I know it is coming don't know when but it is coming. *shudders*

oh my goodness Cavin takes random things and you just never know where you will find them.  Either that or he hoards them and screams if you come within a 100 mile radius of him and his "stuff".

  • Helen is still obsessed with shoes. Her DCP said she has to pick up everyone's shoes about an hour before parents arrive so she can find them. Otherwise H apparently hides them all over.

  • Cavin lives in a "gated" community, meaning he is blocked off from the kitchen, bathroom and sissys room. :)
Although that doesn't stop him from throwing various items over the gate.   I have also found some pretty strange things in his dresser and china cabinet drawers.

I absolutely love this age minus the tantrums of course LOL
