Multiple Agencies for Domestic Adoption in Texas?

My husband and I have been approved to adopt 3 kids from foster care in Texas, via CPS.  We have liked our case manager thus far except she is sometimes flighty and frequently we feel that communication is lacking.  Is it unheard of to go ahead and begin working with a private agency as well?  Would they accept our home-study and PRIDE classes or would they expect us to go thorugh the entire process all over again?  Any advice from someone in a similar situation would be great.  Thanks!
