Question for second timers who had difficult first labours

Hi!

Congrats on the new babies!

I just wanted to ask a question. I am 3w 4days with my second and had a really tough pregnancy/birth with my first... I'm talking a 72 hour labour, ventouse delivery, PPD and crutches due to pelvic pain. Amongst other things.

I just wanted to ask if your second delivery was any better than your first or if you opted for a c-section because of your first delivery.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Re: Question for second timers who had difficult first labours

  • I wouldn't say easier, bit my two deliveries were total opposites. With dd, my water broke but I had no natural contractions and ended up with pitocin. After 22 hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing, I had my baby. With ds, I had four hours of natural labor and ten minutes of pushing. That was it. Every pregnancy and every delivery is different.

    CSC arrived 5/7/12

    CHC arrived 6/2/14

  • Much much easier. Like 30 minutes and 5 pushes vs. over 4 hours of pushing, being on oxygen, etc. The two experiences were like night and day. And I was induced both times.

  • First labor was 46 hours. Second labor was 5 hours.
