Stay at Home Moms

Rawv

R: I have 4 weeks of maternity leave left and I am really starting to dread the return back to work. It's going to hit me in the ass hard.

Aw: nothing?

V:I am working an hour away from home today doing a market research study and I just found that I forgot a pump part! I have to single pump on minimal breaks now. I was nervous enough about pumping as it is... Here's to flexibility!
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

Re: Rawv

  • R: I put the dog outside and locked the sliding screen door. Now I can't get it open so she's stuck out there until DH gets up. There's not side gate so I can't just bring her in through the front door.

AW: we're going OOT this weekend for my BFF sons' birthday party.

V: I love that dH cooks but he uses every pot, pan and utensil he can find and then just leaves it all over the kitchen

  • Random: I'm getting ready to make 5 lbs of PW sloppy joe sauce, and 4 dozen of no bake cookies for the guys at DHs work. I better get busy and drink my coffee first.

AW: It's almost 10:30 and DD is still asleep!

    Vent: I got nothin'!

  • Random: DH's cousin brought us garlic popcorn as a thank you for watching their dog over the weekend. It's surprisingly tasty.

AW: One of my goals for the month was to get down to 180 pounds. As of this morning I am 180.9. I'll take it!

Vent: I had a handful of the garlic popcorn yesterday afternoon. Despite brushing my teeth twice since then, my mouth still has a garlicky aftertaste. Yuck.
Because you're mine, I walk the line....

    Great job!!!!
  • Random: I watched Sin City for the first time last night. The style of that movie is cracked out!

Vent: DDs diapers keep leaking so every single morning I have to wash her sheets and sometimes her comforter. The pee just will not be contained!!

AW: DD is almost 2 and her personality is really starting to shine. I love that she has likes and dislikes and cute little quirks that we can see. I know I'll probably have a 'bad' week soon where she's driving me crazy, but for now I'm really loving this stage.

  • Random- turns out my aunt goes to the same gym as me. Like she's been going there for over ten years and I just found this out. lol

AW- The landscapers are almost finished with our back patio and will start to put shrubs in next!

Vent- I have a play date today at 12. Who does a playdate at noon? I thought everyones kid takes a nap at 1...no?

  • Aw: i am starting to get over the "morning" sickness! *knock on wood* Now if only I could stop being so dead tired and start parenting instead of surviving the days again.
Random: Ds ia almost potty trained (8 weeks later) and now only has poop accidents while running to the toilet.
Vent: I can't get a matching crib to the one I already have from Ds. The nursery is once again going to be a total mismatch of furniture and I am upset about it. Oh and I still haven't figured out if Ds will have to switch rooms or everything will fit in the little room. 'Cause that is totally stuff I should have decided by 10 weeks right? Haha.

  • Random :  We bought DD's first ever school supplies last night.  Washable markers.  Her teacher also sent a letter to our home the other day.  I thought that was a nice thing to do.

AW:  DS is starting to be better about going potty in the toilet.  I pray he is trained by the time the baby comes and I am not changing two people's diapers all day.

Vent :  I am having some anxiety about DD's first day of kindergarten.
  • @Aussie45: Have you tried Huggies Overnight diapers? Those are the only ones that work for us for preventing nighttime leaks.

@SallyAnneS: I am impressed by how on the ball you are!

I'm just full of vents today....

V1: I brought the boys to church this morning.....epic fail. L was fine sitting w/ my mom but N wouldn't stop squirming so I took him out....at which point L started crying for me. We ended up just playing on the playground....which is fine, but it looks like our weekday Mass days are over for awhile.

V2: I'm frustrated by our nap schedule these days. The boys are up by 6:30 like clockwork and will only nap once, whether that's at 9 AM or noon. My goal is to push the nap back to at least 11 or 11:30 so we can do something in the morning before they nap, and I don't have a freakishly long day (which is what ends up happening if their nap is too early....they are in full-blown meltdown mode by dinnertime). Yet lately they are definitely getting cranky by 9:30 or 10, so even if I try to do something in the morning (like go to church) it doesn't go so well. Looks like it's time to pull out HSHHC again....

V3: I was up on the later side working last night and DH went to bed before I did. I tried to sneak in as quietly as possible, just to find that he's sleeping on my side of the bed! WTF? And then he got all pissy that I woke him up. I'm still annoyed at him for that.

V4: It feels like late September outside. I like late September.....in late September, not late July.

  • Random: My neighbor keeps parking on the street in front of my house. That is weird, right?

Vent: DH is a words with friends evil genius. He keeps completely locking up the board.

AW: DD is having her pictures taken on Saturday!!

Vent2: I have no idea what she is going to wear in her pictures on Saturday.

@raraavis28‌ My DS is doing the same thing with naps. Up before seven, ready to nap by 10:30. Had to cancel the playdate with my best mommy friend because her youngest sleeps until 9 and they don't nap until 1.
I'm relieved that I'm not alone.....sorry about your canceled playdate, though! I've also got a friend w/ a son a few months younger than the twins, and it's maddeningly hard to schedule get-togethers sometimes b/c of their schedules being off. :(

@raraavis28 I just keep reminding myself it could be much worse if he didn't nap at all. We could go anywhere we wanted, but he would be so crabby.
    Truth.

@dragonmom35: Congrats on the BFP! :)

Sorry about the naps. The 2 to 1 nap transition is so hard. I also feel you on the church thing. On Sunday, my choir director said, "Wow! Today was a rough one, huh?" I actually thought the day went pretty well, so it was a little disheartening. It is the second time someone said something to us on a day that I was patting myself on the back. Oh well, I will just keep bringing them every week and they will eventually get it.

  • AW: DS asked to take a nap.  This has never, ever happened before.

Vent (in advance): I tried to get professional photos of DD and DS two weeks ago. It was a disaster and DD would not let me put her down.  I found out later, she was sick with roseola.  The photographer was kind enough to offer me another session.  Based on the past two days of being out and about, I do not anticipate it going much better.  I am debating as to whether I should call the whole thing off and throw away $85, or make another attempt at the expense of the kind photographer.  All I want is 1 photo.

Vent #2: It would be very helpful if I could have someone to come with me to help with this whole photography experience.  However, my mom is whining that DD does not like her and I need to just "make DD" deal with other people.  I am really not sure what I am supposed to do.  DD won't even acknowledge DH for the first 30 minutes of the morning.  This is not unique to my mom. I really wish my mom would stop taking it personally.

  • Random:  MIL came to swim lessons this morning.  I was warm with a sun dress and she had on a T-shirt and a vest.

    AW:   I got nothin'

Vent:  DH wants to buy a small fishing boat that he can also pull the girls on a tube.  I did not grow up around water, cannot swim and have serious anxiety about thinking about this.  I am all over selling my motorcycle and getting it though.
  • R: one of my earbuds is suddenly missing the cushion that goes in your ear.

Aw: DD had swim lessons again today (day 5 of 8) and didn't cry! She had fun and did everything they asked. Now I have to find a way to keep up through the school year.

V: I skipped a couple of weigh-ins early on and now my ww app is all messed up. Some how, it switched the days I did weigh-in.

We also used cloth but had to switch to huggies overnights. Ds is just a big overnight pee machine. I hope you find some kind of solutions soon.

  • R: I've gotten more sleep since Friday than I have averaged since before DS was born...

AW: I had my broken nose FINALLY repaired this past Friday (we met our deductible for the year so it was one of those "hurry up and get it fixed before the insurance turnover") - the kicker is that the recovery has been A LOT harder than they prepared me for!!  L&D recovery was far easier!

V: Oh my gosh - DH has been the worst nurse ever!  Anything medical and pain related is not his forte' then add the element of kids in the mix and oh boy!  Things got markedly easier since I got pain controlled and could convince the kids to cooperate a bit, but DANG, DH couldn't figure out "pick your battles" and that "it's not worth saying "no" to a yogurt because he had one earlier in the day and it's 2:00, he hasn't had lunch nor nap and he's hungry!"  The sheer amount of screaming I've endured while trying to get rest and recover has been insane.  Had I known what I know now I'd have likely taken the kids and gone down to visit my family (SIL is a CNP so I wouldn't have been far from care in the event of an emergency), and I'm guessing an easier time...
