@Rumbera28 I saw you had a myomectomy to remove fibroids. I have several - the largest is about 8 cm, I think - and I was wondering what the process was like? My fibroids were discovered before we ever started TTC. They never caused me any problems, but my mother had then so I asked to be checked. Both my OB/gyn at the time and a high risk pregnancy doctor said they were unlikely to cause any problems with fertility, but then when I was at the ER for my miscarriage the U/S tech seemed surprised by how many there were. My new OB/gyn still doesn't think they are likely the cause of a loss, but I can't help wondering if I should just insist on them being removed anyway? I have already hit my deductible for the year because of my D&C so from a financial stand point it kind of makes sense if I might ultimately have to do it anyway, but I was wondering about the actual process.

Thanks for the response. Mine are inside my uterus so I feel like they will be in the way. I know the prevailing opinion is that they are unlikely to interfere, but it makes you wonder after a loss.

Rumbera28meredithcarole I'm confused why fibroids in the uterus need to be removed right away? I had a fibroid in my ute my entire pregnancy...they watched it carefully and it never got above 4.5 cm and did not cause any complications. Now that fibroid is 2 cm three years later (RE checked for it a couple weeks ago). She told me it should not interfere and there is no need to have it removed. I had a loss in March and have not been having luck getting pregnant, but she does not seem concerned at all about my fibroid. Should I bee concerned/worried? The only thing I do not know is if the fibroid was there when I got pregnant with my DS or not.

Fibroids don't cause complications in most pregnancies. I am only worried because I have 3 large ones and numerous small ones. The largest of mine is bigger than a golf ball. My OB/gyn isn't overly concerned, but since I had a loss where the U/S tech seemed surprised by the number and size of some of my fibroids I am concerned. Currently I am motivated to pursue removal mainly out of an abundance of caution and because I have hit my deductible for the year. It may be totally unnecessary.
