~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are a group of women striving to live healthier lives, whether that means losing weight, gaining weight, sticking to a specific diet, counting calories, avoiding counting calories, starting to exercise, continuing to exercise or anything in between.
We check in on Mondays and follow up with an accountability on Fridays (our favorite post of the week, because we love encouraging each other and celebrating all our successes!).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Many of us are using MyFitnessPal to keep track of our eating and our exercise. MFP is a great tool to keep yourself accountable, and because it is set up as a social network site, we can cheer you on there as well as here. If you are using MFP and have not found us yet, let us know so we can friend you!
    The Good: The scale was down to 148.1 prior to yesterday's muscle soreness inducing workout. OUCH!
     The Bad: Hmmm... Nothing really unless we count soreness - OUCH!
     The Proud: I did multiple workouts yesterday and really pushed myself - it felt good. I also didn't allow myself to go off the path when my husband determined it would be good to drink a 6 pack of beer....
    Your Plan: This week is going to be a tad awkward due to meetings and I'm traveling to Phoenix Wednesday and Thursday... But I plan to do the best I can - especially leading up to the trip - and workout as often as I can.
    Question of the week --- Inspired by the below inspirational quote... what is your fitness "dream"? - I really want to get to a "Normal" weight range and about 25% body weight. I'm around 5# from the normal range and am currently at 28.1% body fat.  So, it's doable, but may take some work and time!
    Hi ladies! @MrsG80inTN‌ and @Amybunny30‌ good job sticking with it!
    The good: not much unfortunately
    The bad: very off track all around. No exercise last week, way too much beer and about a week behind my challenges
    The proud: up until last week I stayed on track for 3 of the 4 weeks of the buns/guns challenge!
    The plan: start up where I left off. Eat Better. I'd like to say drink less but that is an unrealistic goal right now lol
    QOTW: get to 135lbs and stay there (currently around 143) and get back to point of being toned where genetics allows
    Good morning ladies!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.
    THE GOOD:  I had a good weekend for workouts.  Friday night I biked for 25 minutes and then lifted weights for 20 minutes.  Saturday I ran 5 miles.  Sunday was a rest day, but I still managed to get 10k steps in.
    THE BAD:  I drank way too much this weekend.  *sigh*
    THE PROUD:  I signed DH and myself up for our favorite race - the Monster Dash half marathon, which happens the last Saturday of October.  It's mostly downhill and I love fall weather for running.  I wasn't sure if I should sign up for the race because I obviously won't be running it if I get a BFP before then, but if I don't get a BFP I would be pretty annoyed sitting on the sidelines watching DH run.  Plus, training for this race gives me lots of motivation, which is something I need right now!
    THE PLAN:  Bike workout and strength training today, run Tuesday and Thursday, and a 10k race on Saturday (totally snuck up on me, I don't feel ready for it!).  Also need to go grocery shopping for the week tonight.
    QOTW:  My fitness dream is to get back down to the weight I was when DH and I started dating, 145 lbs.  I consider that to be my "happy weight".   I'm very overweight right now and have about 50 lbs to lose to get there.
    The Good: my FET is on Thursday!!!! I feel really good about having maintained a great eating and exercise plan since my last loss so I have done all in my power to prepare for this. The Bad: not really bad, but I just took an all-weight-lifting class today and I was not impressed with my strength! Too much cardio and not enough strength-training. The Proud: proud of maintaining my sanity through healthy habits. Your Plan: work out up until Thursday, then I'm on dog-walking only as per doctor's orders. Eating a lot of pineapple and other fruits and vegs. Question of the week --- Inspired by the below inspirational quote... what is your fitness "dream"? I want to be able to continue to run for the rest of my life. I helped my 60 year old coworker train for her first half-marathon this spring. I want to be like her when I am her age.
    You're awesome.  Good luck on Thursday!!!  Everything is crossed for you!
    Good luck on the 10K - you've got this!!!!  I'm down nearly 50# since June 2013.  I know it's hard, but you will get there.  I've gone up and down a little with the three losses this last year, but I keep pressing on.
    I would like to jump in here if I could...
    The Good: I started out at 255 pounds, I'm down to 180 now
    The Bad: But I haven't lost any weight since my first loss last year!
    The Proud: For the past couple of months my husband and I do our grocery shopping by bike
    Your Plan: I want to add a salad to every dinner, and I want to snack on veggies instead of popcorn like I did last night!
    Question of the week --- Inspired by the below inspirational quote... what is your fitness "dream"? I would love to be able to do a century bike ride in a day someday. So far my best day has been 26 miles.
    edit: I forgot the plan!
    THE GOOD: I had a great workout this morning!
    THE BAD: I was way off track last week. I only got one workout in, and I ate way too many carbs.
    THE PROUD: I feel stronger and my clothes are fitting better. MH had his arm around my waist yesterday and said I felt slimmer.
    THE PLAN : I have three personal training sessions scheduled this week. Get at least four days of cardio. I bought a fitbit a couple weeks ago, and on the days that I don't do a good cardio workout, I don't reach my steps goal. I want to start taking evening walks to help with that.
    QOTW: I'd like to lose about twenty pounds and tone up. I'd also like to be able to run. MH is a runner and I think it would be fun for us to run races together even if we don't keep the same pace.
    @MrsG80inTN Great job on the weight loss and workouts! Every week you inspire me to get off my ass!
    @Amybunny30 It's tough when the scale doesn't move. I know how you feel on that one. I have only lost four pounds, but I've lost inches and gained muscle. Keep with it! You will be so happy you did! Have you tried cutting carbs? That usually helps with weight loss.
    @km380 We all get off track sometimes. You can do it!
    @MrsKush1014 You show that 10k who's boss!
    @Megdowntheshore I'm proud of you for sticking with your diet and exercise plan! Good luck on Thursday. I'll be thinking of you!
    @mpiemont I think vacation is a great to eat and drink whatever you want. Have fun!
    @Menrandes Awesome job on the weight loss! I really love popcorn too. Do you have an air popper? I will air pop my popcorn then sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
    THE GOOD: I had a great workout this morning!
    THE BAD: I was way off track last week. I only got one workout in, and I ate way too many carbs.
    THE PROUD: I feel stronger and my clothes are fitting better. MH had his arm around my waist yesterday and said I felt slimmer.
    THE PLAN : I have three personal training sessions scheduled this week. Get at least four days of cardio. I bought a fitbit a couple weeks ago, and on the days that I don't do a good cardio workout, I don't reach my steps goal. I want to start taking evening walks to help with that.
    QOTW: I'd like to lose about twenty pounds and tone up. I'd also like to be able to run. MH is a runner and I think it would be fun for us to run races together even if we don't keep the same pace.
    So glad you had a good workout this morning and are having some great non-scale victories.  I love when my hubby notices my weight loss or muscle tone!!!!!
    DId I know you got a fitbit?  We need to be fitbit friends. PM your email (if you want) and I will friend you.  @momentormori and @mrskush1014 are also on fitbit.
    Yes, PM me too!  I'm still getting used to my fitbit, I just set it up last Thursday, but so far I love it!
    @MrsG80inTN  Oh I love frozen grapes!  I haven't had them in so long, thanks for the reminder =)  I'm going to pop some in the freezer right now.
    @buttercup509 No air popper, just stove top crank pop thing.  I usually pop in a little bit of coconut oil.   It's not the worst choice, far better than a bag of chips.  But I can feel it the next day.  I get incredibly thirsty and I have more inflammation in my body.
    @Menrandes I really like my air popper. The popcorn is a little drier because you don't use oil, but it's still good.
    @CFearsy It takes us about 20 minutes each way to bike to the store.  I have a basket on the front of my bike and DH attaches a trailer to his when we do our errand rides.
    @MrsKush1014: How did you manage to get 10K steps in on a rest day? Shopping day??
    We took the dogs for a walk and then walked to dinner.  Not exactly restful, but certainly not as strenuous as running!
    This made me think of something, so funny story time. DH and I live very close to an ice cream place (I'm talking 3 minute walk at a leisurely pace). After his birthday dinner with his family, we decided to get ice cream. We got to the parking lot and a few of us decided we should walk...I almost had to drag DH kicking and screaming away from the car because he was insisting on driving. I thought it was a little strange that he would insist on driving such a short distance because that's not normally like him, but I made him walk with us anyway. We get to the ice cream place (3 minutes later) and DH is in the bathroom. Apparently his stomach was hurting but he didn't want to make a scene and ask everyone to wait for him while he used the bathroom at home...but he didn't want to walk either because he didn't want to irritate his stomach even more. Moral of the story: Don't argue when YH give you "poop eyes" and insists on driving.
    "Poop Eyes" =))
    PgAL welcome
