Never thought I would be in this spot...My trip to the grocery store

I decided to take a trip to grocery to try to get somethings to last me the week until payday on Friday (so I could do leftovers for lunch etc...) Mind you I only have 20.00 to my name and I am freakin out about how I am going to make this stretch!!! Last week when I went to Kroger, my digital coupons did not come off so I called to get the amount put back on my debit card or Plus Card. This was on Monday...today is Saturday.

I go to the guest services desk to see what was back on the card... NOTHING!!!! They call the number on the back of the card and they say they will send it up AGAIN to be processed...but  for my trouble I got an extra 200 fuel points. Didnt help my situation at the time though.

So, I am leaving the desk to go to the checkout in tears because Iam trying to figure out what to put back and how am I going to function on nothing next week. I put a few items back and I am still over. I managed to find another card that is only suppose to be used for something else only and cover half of the purchase and half from my primary account.

Now I have 5.52 to my name until Friday.

I have been behind people in the store before who had to put stuff back before and few times I have purchased the item for them because I seen how hard it was for them to put back something they needed and I remember my own mom making those choices but that really hurt... The rate increase from the sitter AFFECTED ME A LOT!!!! And not even just my grocery bill...

Oh my gosh I feel for you. I couldn't even imagine how this must have felt...have you considered talking to bd about helping his son with his son's daycare cost so that HE and you can work?

About two weeks ago, he and I had a "come to Jesus meeting" and I told him that the rates were getting raised but his answer was find another sitter or put him back in daycare without considering everything else the Lil one has going on or my work hours or his. I told him she is going to be the cheapest private nanny I am going to get... Still dont think he got it.

Wtf is wrong with these guys?! Mine hasn't paid a dime toward daycare for the past 5 months and he makes more than double what I make. Um, you wouldn't be working if you had a kid you had to watch every single day.

And for him to say just find another one when you need the perfect one especially considering the doctor appointments and special attention he needs. What an ass.

Now, if you went back and lived with family and just got lil emperor's social security and whatever bd gets you until you can get a job there - but in the interim took him to his appointments and didn't pay a caretaker could that work?

Wow.  That really sucks and I'm sorry you had to go through that embarrassing situation.  Sending creepy internet hugs your way.  I know what it's like to be piss ass broke.  I've sold a lot of DD's and my no longer needed stuff on facebook garage sale groups and that's helped a lot.  We don't have Kroger here.  Is that a cheaper grocery store?  Do you comparison shop at all?  Sometimes the local save-a-lot has some really really good prices and, here at least, their meat is only second best to the local butcher shop.  I also check out coupons.com weekly.  

We need a "Ways you save money" sticky thread.

Noe that i have a little more time, im sorry you went through that. Back last october i was broke i hadnt recieved my first round of cash from.state assistance yet and had to go to the dr for mastitis that had turned into an abcsess that ruptured. They prescribed me antibiotics. I had a not working car that i couldnt afford to fix so my sister took me to get my meds filled. I picked them up and tried to pay all my cards started declineing. Tried to call my sister to come in with four dollars and left my card in the car.

I started balling in the target pharmacy because i was so embaressed i didnt have four dollara to my name. The pharmasist felt so bad for me that she took the four dollars out of her wallet and paid for my antibiotica for me. I really hope once i have the money to.help someone else out that i can pay it forward

If it was possible for me to move back in with my parents and live off of the Lil Emperor’s SSI, I would BUT… moving 315 miles away just isn’t feasible right now.  The scary thought is having to find brand new therapist  and specialist in my hometown and I am also afraid if he has to have another surgery, we would have to travel 60-90 miles to the specialty children’s hospital. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Once upon a time, Kroger WASN’T THE CHEAPEST GROCERY STORE but now they have good prices and they do fuel rewards for when you shop (get 100 in the month, get .10 off gas).  We do have cheap stores but they are farther from my house and sorry but I only do Wal-Mart if I REALLY REALLY HAVE TO (WAL-MART IS NOT MY FAVORITE STORE!!!!) I do coupon shop and comparison shop but this past Saturday I thought that what was to be put back on my card would cover at least half of it (BTW… that Satuday night, it was put back on my card… And it would have covered the small pack of Chicken, ground turkey and two of the smoothies the Lil Emperor drinks).
