The last 24 hours have been CRAZY! We completed our home study yesterday. The last thing was to attend a meeting that was out of town at one of our agency's other offices. On the way back from the meeting, our SW called and asked us how the meeting was and to tell us that our home study was signed that morning.. and that she had a situation shee needed to talk to us about. We immediately thought something might be wrong. We pulled over to a gas station, put her on speaker phone.. and she told us about a wonderful 13 day old little girl that needs a home. We are the only family that meets the criteria the birth mother had. If we say yes, we take our little girl home the next day.
We were just dumbfounded. This is unheard of. We hadn't even ordered our profile books or made our online profile with Bethany. We were expecting a longer wait. Holy crap! LOL
We told her we would have to really think about it. It came so out of left field. BUT after thinking and praying about it, talking to family, friends, and bosses.. We said yes!! In two hours we get to go meet our little girl. It is just unreal. I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and this was just a dream. We've been dreaming of a baby since 2010. It's finally happening!!!
Thanks so much to all of you for answering my questions on this board and just being awesome.

Congratulations. I think this is a great thing. I really respect people that do these kind of things. You are going to feel good and the child will be grateful. Best of luck and have fun! What name are you considering for the baby?
Sorry I posted and disappeared. The last 2 weeks have been amazing. Instantly bonded with our little one. We named her Zoe Savita. Since I'm half Indian and hubs is half Lebanese, we figured a Mediterranean and a Hindi name would be fitting. Zoe means life and Savita means Cherished/Greatest in the Universe. So Cherished Life seemed a fitting name as well.
We fell instantly in love. She just fits in our family so well. It was meant to be.
She is absolutely beautiful, as is her name!! Congratulations again!!
