Pregnant after a Loss

Cell free test and nt scan?

I did the panorama test today. I know many here have done the blood test. Did you also do the NT scan? I know it's not absolutely necessary but it would be great to see the little bean again.

With my last pregnancy, we had an u/s done at 13 weeks to check on a SCH. The tech just measured the fold since we were there. It was then that I noticed her growth was starting to lag behind and things started on the decline a few weeks later.

  • I'm assuming insurance covered both? I have a perinatal consult with the MFM next week. Not sure what monitoring she will do. Guess I will wait and see if she takes a peek or not. I have the Doppler and get the hb right away so that eases my mind a bit.

We did both due to multiple losses due to chromosomal abnormalities. Our losses were due to trisomies that were not included on the Panorama or other genetic tests and would have only been seen through an NT scan and/or CvS/amnio. We didn't get the Panorama done until this pregnancy. This time we did go into the NT scan feeling a bit better because the Panorama results checked out low risk but we wanted to do the scan for peace of mind due to our history. Our insurance did cover both due to our history and the fact that our doctor had some kind of discount deal with Panorama. It cost us $195 total for that test because we did the microdeletions too. The NT scan was billed to us like a regular ultrasound. Definitely call your insurance to ask though.
  • I did the Ultrascreen. From what I remember there was a blood test for maybe 4 things and then the NT scan.  It was covered, but I did have to pay part of it.  We did it because I really wanted to see the baby and make sure he was ok.   If the results would have shown that something was wrong, then I wanted to know that too.
