Hi all! I'm new here. Been lurking a bit due to nerves!
I'm 10 weeks 4 days with twins, first pregnancy after about 18 months and 8 months with RE. 3rd IUI. Very anxious and nervous with all of it. Just wanted to say hi and ask a quick question.
When did you tell work? I'm trying to put it off, but I'm also thinking of spilling next week when I'm 11 weeks because the following week I need to miss a couple hours of work on two separate days for the NT scan and 12 week OB appointment. What do you wonderful ladies think?
I told work after the NT scan - I didn't feel comfortable having most people know until after that milestone - but everyone's different in this department!
My boss knew that I was going through IVF so was very understanding on all of my appointments. But I think I told him by 9 weeks. Although I was already starting to show so I couldn't have hid it for much longer.
I told my boss at 9 weeks after several solid sono's.

Congrats and welcome! My store manager and staff knew right away because we did IVF and I had them fill the meds (work in a pharmacy) plus I had to do some schedule rearranging to accommodate the bloodwork and appts. The rest of the store found out around 8 weeks or so, it was just easier to tell than keep them guessing because I had some pretty bad all day sickness and they were starting to ask if it was complications from gallbladder surgery I'd had right before the IVF cycle.
Some people at work knew I was going through fertility treatments, so I told them pretty much right away. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of telling a few other people around 7 weeks and then it seemed everyone in the office knew. I hadn't planned on telling my boss until after the first trimester, but I wanted him to hear it from me and not someone else so I went ahead and told him at that time.
Truthfully, I was so sick and tired I'm glad they knew. It made taking time off easier when they knew I wasn't just being a slacker.
N14 Nov. Siggy: CELEBRATION!

January 2014 - IVF = 3 freezer babies
March 2014 - FET of AA and AB blast = BFP! Twins!

Hi @islandmonkey8 ! I told a couple of people at work around ten weeks because I needed to sit down a bit rather than stand 40 hours a week. (I was having bleeding which was always heavier on my longer work days. Everything was okay but I needed the bleeding to slow down for my sanity.) I didn't want to look like a slacker. I told everyone else between 13-14 weeks.
I told work last week at 8 weeks because they knew I was going through IVF. I also needed them to know in case something happened (GOD FORBID) I would need their assistance and back up while I was out. It's been a blessing since telling them. They are so supportive and are already loving the babies We joke they will be my company's mascots - Most everyone on my team is 20+ years older than me so everyone is very excited to have babies
Thanks ladies! I think I've decided I'm telling work tomorrow or Thursday. Two women who annoy me will be out those days, that way it'll be less annoying congratulations. Also, I think both my husband and I are just ready to get it out there and stop keeping this giant "secret."
