I grew up in the Midwest. I miss chocodiles. And Fitz ' s cream soda. And the city I went to college in had a drive thru bar that only served frozen liquor drinks. There were like a dozen or so options and were all served in generic Styrofoam cups. On hot summer days, I miss that bar.

Yes! When they started carrying it in VA, my life changed.
I'm blanking but there was a Mountain Dew styled soda by the same company. It was like Sprite and Dew mixed.

I see that @Regal Mama‌ and @TyrannosaurusLex have covered all things PC brand, and secret Galen Weston crushes. I'll jump on board wth all of those.

I'd also like to add REAL Poutine, Tim Hortons, All Dressed/Ketchup chips, Kraft Dinner, Beavertails, and eastern Quebec homemade doughnuts

Killaloe Sunrise for the win! They only call it that in the Ottawa area, everywhere else it's just cinnamon, sugar and lemon.

Also, wtf, no KD in the USofA? This is actually shocking to me.
Not real KD. We take 2 cases down to Memphis every year when we go see H's best friend. They have "macaroni & cheese" but it's not the same thin at all

I want to mail everyone a box of KD now. Also where can I find these doughnuts you speak of. I'm going as east as Riviere-du-Loup very soon.

I'll add Joe Louis, coffee crisp, and late night post drinking shawarma to the list

@mrspadfoot‌ yes hostess went under but they sold the Twinkie recipe so you can buy them again.

@Regal Mama‌ Maroush on Elgin St. closed?! I'm sad. I went there a lot after going to Bulldog.

The nearest waffle house and krispy Kreme is about 45 minutes from me now. They're everywhere in the South.
There's a waffle house basically on every corner here.

And I'm so sorry about not having a KK around you. Do that mean you're stuck with DD? Bless your heart.

@LBib‌ @TyrannosaurusLex‌ the one on Rideau is closed too. During my last pregnancy I had to go to Ottawa and I was so excited to get Maroush, I almost cried when I saw it was gone.

Nooooooo! So where do you find good schwarma in Ottawa these days?

Sheetz, Philly cheesesteaks, Stromboli, old fashioned white pizza, tomato pie, Italian water ice, Suzy Jo donuts (it was a shop in my hometown and they're heavenly), homemade Kaiser rolls, Easter bread, basically any other starch you can buy at an Italian bakery, oh and PHILLY SOFT PRETZELS!!!!!!!!!! I dream about them sometimes. The food was the only good thing about growing up just outside Philly and sometimes I think it might have actually made me stay there...

I have never really been away from OH for more than a week, so I don't know what is here that wouldn't be else where that I would miss. And I've never been anywhere long enough to fall in love with something that isn't in OH that I would miss.

I don't feel like Portland has regional stuff, really. Portland likes to borrow from all over the country/world. We used to have delicious Tazo tea, but those dicks moved to Seattle. I guess our micro brews? Willamette Valley wines? Portland and the area around it is all about the booze.

    Yesssss!

Omg. It's so exciting to have people on TB know about my favourite things.

    S&G's French fry stand?
    The Parkdale Market?
    DiRienzo's sandwiches?

I used to live around the corner from Parkdale before it gentrified. In hindsight I should have bought out my slumlord. I went to the market all the time.

Gabrielle's is my favourite Ottawa pizza. Love that they put whole pieces of bacon on the Hawaiian.

One of my clients is in Ottawa so I make it back a few times a year.
