Infertility

Preseed?

Has anyone tried the "preseed" product? DH and I have been TTC for a 19 months and still nothing! My PCP sent me out to a fertility clinic and two week before my apt they called to inform me they have closed the practice! So now I am back in the waiting game for an other apt with me PCP and then wait for him to send out and other referral to an other reproductive specialist!!! In the mean time I thought of trying pre-seed. Has anyone used this?!

I don't understand. Does no one read the READ ME FIRST post anymore???

@mrskimmell - You're on the wrong forum. Check out Trouble TTC, as pretty much everyone here is doing IVF. Good luck to you, and I hope you never have to join us.

  • I have used it before. I am prone to bacterial vaginosis and it did cause infections for me. A lot of ladies use this with success, but I think those ladies don't have serious fertility issues and maybe would have gotten pregnant without it. I have seen stories of people that didnt get pregnant for a long long time and did once they started using it. There is also conceive plus which is suppose to be better. I say go for it. There is nothing wrong with trying in between fertility treatments. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you don't need to do anything else to get your baby :)

  • While you're waiting on your appointment, there wouldn't be harm in trying it.  Are you also temping to track your cycle?  My RE said it was good to use if you needed a lube.  But at the same time, it's not like it's a miracle remedy.

Heads up, I little goes a long way!  And yes, you'll probably have more in common with the Trouble TTC board.  Good luck!

  • Preseed is nothing more than a fertility friendly lube. It's not a treatment for infertility.

  • @mrskimmell‌, just wanted to add that 19 months is beyond the recommended year of TTC on your own. It might be time to think about getting yourself to a RE for a fertility check-up.

    DX: Severe MFI, AZFc Microdeletion
    TTC since August 2011

  • I agree with @Margritli‌ - I wasted a lot of time on Preseed, unapproved fertility supplements and other over the counter remedies. There's no harm in scheduling a consult with an RE in your area and getting some basic testing done.

  • I am waiting to get my referral re sent out. I go in tomorrow to formally talk to my doc. But my original RE closed his business two weeks before my first apt. So I have to start this whole thing all over. Hoping all I have to do is go in an let them know and they will send out for a differnt RE. Sorry about posting in the wrong department.

mrskimmell We saw a urologist who specializes in fertility and his exact words were that if we needed lubricant this was the only choice he would recommend but that Preseed does not improve fertility.

I see people time and time again writing about getting pregnant after Preseed, but that's coincidental.
