3dt Success Stories... Looking for encouragement

Hello ladies!! First off, thanks for taking the time to read (and answer if you are so inclined). I just went through my 1st IVF with ICSI. I had ER on 7/7 and we got 16 eggs but of those, only 9 were mature. I stimmed pretty fast and triggered after 7 days of follistim. I'm assuming that my other follicles just didn't have a chance to catch up. Of those 9, 3 didn't fertilize, 3 fertilized abnormally, and 3 fertilized normally. Because of this, my RE opted for a 3dt. So on 7/11, we put back 2 8cells, one grades 2 & 4. Our third little embryo was only 3 cells so we just did the two. Right now I am 3dp3dt.
I was pretty worried about having to do a 3dt and not having a nice healthy blast (or two) to put back and since we don't have anything left to freeze, we will have to do the whole thing over again if unsuccessful. I am looking for some hope in success stories. Thanks again for taking the time to read!

I did a 3dt and now have a healthy baby in my arms so don't give up hope! Our successful transfer was of one 10 cell and one 8 cell embryo, I don't know which one stuck obv. My RE actually routinely does a 3dt unless you have a lot of embryos to choose from and their numbers are on par with success rates of clinics that routinely do 5dts. I know that having a blast or 2 to transfer would have been a little more reassuring, but know that your ute is the best place for those embies to *hopefully* grow and thrive. Good luck to you!

I actually had a 2dt, and DD is 18 months now. I can't remember what cell they were tho.

We also did a 3dt as well. I was a little disappointed at the time, but trusted my RE and I'm glad I did. We also put in 2 8 celled, and I'm 19 weeks pg with a singleton girl good luck!!

We transferred 2 blasts for our fresh cycle and bfn..then 1 blast for fet #1 and bfn and then fet #2 we did a 3dt of 3 8cell grades 1 & 2 and a 5cell and are now 35 weeks pregnant with a singleton! I def think that is why we ended up with a bfp!

With my first IVF/FET, we transferred 2 5 day blasts - BFN.  We chose a different doctor/clinic, stimmed too quickly, had 25 eggs retrieved, 12 or so were mature and we only had 3 perfect 8/9 cells on day 3, the rest were still growing, but with either lots of fragmentation or uneven cells (ended up not freezing any).  For the clinic to do a 5dt, you have to have at least 4 perfect 8-10 cell embryos.  So, we transferred all 3 8/9 cell embryos on day 3.  As you can see in my siggy, all 3 implanted, but only 2 had beating hearts at 6w and we lost one at 7w.  I'm currently almost 21 weeks with a singleton.  I also have super thin lining, so I'm thinking that the 3dt was the right thing to do with me - in my case, progesterone thins my lining by a lot, so the fact that I was only on 3 days of progesterone when the embryos were transferred, might have helped.  Sorry this was so long, good luck to you!

Another 3dt here!! We transferred 2 8cell embryos, had both stick initially, but only found 1 hb at 6w3d. I was anxious too after perusing the internet, but I also had a lot of faith in my RE. Best of luck to you!

First, good luck to you!!  FX for your embabies!!

It was IVF#1 for us, and after ER I was devastated to learn we only retrieved 7 eggs and only 3 were mature and fertilized (we did ICSI too).  We did a 3dt of two 8 cell embies, grade 1&2.  Both embies stuck and I'm 9 weeks pregnant with twins!  The wait is the hardest thing ever, I so feel for you, but I think there's still lots of reason to be hopeful!  Wishing you all the best!

I did 2 3dts - I have b/g twins (in heaven, whole other issue IF aside) they were 9 and 7 cells and a 3 month old sleeping next to me who was only 8 cells! hold on to hope!! We never have blasts or good quality embryos either, but hey it worked, 3 times even!

I did a 3dt of two 'meh' embryos with 10% fragmentation on 5/7 - exactly two months before yours - and today, I am 13 weeks and baby is healthy and perfect.  My first IVF was a "perfect textbook 5dt blast" and it didn't work and all other embryos arrested.  See my siggy.  Of all the eggs I was able to muster up, we only had one to freeze.  You only need ONE!!  FX for you - please keep us posted.

Glad to see your positive update! My almost 17 month old was a 3dt of not great embryos after rescue ICSI, so anything is possible. FX for a doubling beta!!

as you can see from my siggy, we did a 3dt of two embryos..8 and 9 cell. we didnt have anything to freeze either so I am right there with ya on the panic you can feel knowing this is your one shot possibly without going through it allllll over again. But I'm living proof that it can work on the first transfer. I'm 14 weeks! BEST OF LUCK!
