Potty Training

wants to use toliet every couple min.

So we started doing the naked or underpants thing today except my DS wants to go the bathroom now every 2 min. Will this pass? I want to encourage him to tell us he needs to go but now once he finishes he is rushing back in minutes to try again. My DH and I don't want to tell him no but at the same time not sure its ok to have him going every couple of minutes. Any advice

We are going through the same thing with our daughter. I would like to know what other people have to say because I have been wondering the same thing.

If he is new to the potty, it may be a novelty thing and pass.  DS1 was doing this in the beginning.  It wasn't as frequent as every 2 minutes but he said he had to go far more often than he did.  I was told by therapists that if he had just peed but said he had to poo now, then he could go back (if he is able to tell you one vs. the other) but if it was pee again to remind him that he just peed and he could try again later.  For poo, my DS1 has trouble getting it all out at once, so we end up going back a few times if he has just pooped.  His other thing is not wanting to get OFF the potty.  He wants to sit there and sit there.... it personally drives me crazy.  I think I fed this habit by asking him if he's finished and he says no.  Apparently, he likes the "game"  of me asking and him telling me no.  We left him there for 20+ minutes while we were eating dinner last night.  Finally DH forced him off (he had pooped a LOT).  DS1 has ASD, but I'm not sure if any of his potty antics are related!  I think he is slightly obsessed with it. But now he usually doesn't ask unless he needs to go, so in his case that part faded with time.  We started PT'ing 1.5 months ago.
