Any ladies use Julep?

I keep seeing advertised on Facebook and was wondering if any of you ladies use and if you like it or know anyone who uses it and like it or don't like it.

  • Duh me- I never even thought of looking for it in stores- I just thought it was online only!! Thanks @jsquaree‌- I'll look for it in a store and not have to pay shipping.

  • I subscribed for several months back in 2011/2012. It's always fun to get goodies in the mail but I never thought Julep was worth the cost. The polishes cost twice as much as Orly, Essie, and OPI but are half the size. That's crazy. I'd rather spend my money on high-quality base and topcoat.

I can make even the cheapest nail polish last for weeks if I use my Orly Bonder base and Seche Vite topcoat (I also found that Julep polishes didn't play nice with SV, which was a deal breaker). My last pedicure was still going strong at 4.5 weeks and I only had to take it off because I was getting gaps at the nail beds where it was growing out. Not a chip in sight.

  • @jenb_99‌ I have really good luck with Essie staying on- a few colors not as long as others. I'm not very lucky with OPI at all. I've bought a few bottles of Some kind of brand at CVS for only $1.99 and so far all of those when I use them last about 5 days. I just like a lot of the colors I've seen and thought if people thought it was a buy I would try it.

  • @Helmink0804 My favorite nail polishes are all under $3, believe it or not. I long ago abandoned my higher-end collection in favor of Wet N Wild and NYC. I've yet to find a dud from either of them. Wet N Wild has some great Essie and China Glaze dupes for around $2, and NYC's fast-drying line is fantastic. I can get by with only one coat of the more vibrant shades. They even have an extra-shiny topcoat that rivals Seche Vite. I also like Spoiled, the Wet N Wild line exclusive to CVS. They have some gorgeous microglitters and glass flecks. I've never been particularly impressed by Essie's color selection, especially for the price.

I even take my cheap polishes (as well as my base and topcoat) with me to the salon when I get a mani or pedi.

I have about 30 Julep polishes and they all chip after 48 hours or less, no matter what I do. :(

  • @jenb_99‌ I hate when I fall in love with a color and it ends up chipping fast! I can't stand my nails chipped or not painted, it drives me crazy! It's hard for me to find an Essie color that I like- I love Marshmallow and can't find a cheaper knock off brand- a soft white color that doesn't look like whiteout. Any suggestions?? I have a few of the Wet-n-wild ones and I love them but my cvs doesn't have a big selection of them and they don't switch out with the seasons. I went in to buy some spring summer ones and it was all dark colors. I ended up with a red. I'm a little obsessed with my nails and nail polish.
